Ashes To Ashes Returns To BBC1

A Dark Knight Post

I like nothing better than the odd crime fighting caper, but mix it with a twist of sci-fi and fantasy and all my Christmas' have come at once.

What began with Sam TYLER in LIFE ON MARS, has now morphed into the delightful form of KEELY HAWES....and what a form it is.

LIFE ON MARS, for those few that didn't watch it, was a mix of police drama with some sci-fi added in which all starts with DCI TYLER being hit by a car in 2006 and waking up in 1973... Was he in a coma, dreaming, or really sent back in time?? I suggest you catch it on re-runs or invest in the DVD's as this was a gem of a series.....and although there is an American version (cancelled already!!) you can't beat the British at some things.

Mixed into the drama are several characters who help, or rather hinder Sam along with way. Gene Hunt, Ray Carling and Chris Skelton are the slightly dodgy and somewhat questionable CID team who beat the bad guys, more often than not, with a baseball bat rather than the law. This mismatched bunch on coppers then leave Manchester and head to London leading into the events of ASHES TO ASHES.

ASHES in a different beast for many reasons, but if I tell you what they are i might spoil the surprise for LIFE ON MARS.

ASHES TO ASHES has just started its second season with a bang on Monday, and continues its 8 episode run on Monday nights...........DON'T MISS IT....YOU'LL REGRET IT.

Here are some clips to set the tone, and if you need more incentive to watch, check out the pic of the delightful Ms HAWES with a couple of other images......Enjoy and I'm outta here.
