DC Animation Announces Batman vs. Robin And Justice League: Gods And Monsters!

Via comicbookresources.com:

"Batman Vs. Robin" and the Bruce Timm-written "Justice League: Gods and Monsters" will join the previously announced "Justice League: Throne of Atlantis" on the DC Universe Animated Original Movie slate for 2015.

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment made the announcement at the Comic-Con International following the world-premiere screening of "Batman: Arkham Assault."

"Batman Vs. Robin" appears to be loosely based on the well-received DC  Comics' storyline "Batman: The Court of the Owls," by Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo. "Justice League: Gods and Monsters" features an original story by Timm, and isn't related to the 2001 comic "JLA: Gods and Monsters" by Dan Jolley and Josh Krach.

As revealed last week, "Throne of Atlantis" stars Matt Lanter ("Star Wars: The Clone Wars") as the voice of young Arthur Curry as he discovers his undersea heritage. It's a continuation of the story that began in "Justice League: War," and will also feature Jason O'Mara as Batman, Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern, Rosario Dawson as Wonder Woman, Jerry O'Connell as Superman, Shemar Moore as Cyborg, Christopher Gorham as The Flash, Sean Astin as Shazam.

"Justice League: Throne of Atlantis" will be released early next year on DVD, Blu-ray, digital HD and On Demand. No other details were provided for "Batman Vs. Robin" and "Justice League: Gods and Monsters."

Predestination - Trailer

Ethan Hawke plays a time travelling law enforcer in Predestination. Adapted from Robert Heinlein’s short story All You Zombies, the film sees the hero hunting down the one criminal that always manages to elude him.

A strange looking film, but it looks intriguing nonetheless.

Batman vs Superman: Dawn Of Justice - SDCC Trailer Images

Unfortunately for those of us that weren't in the building at SDCC this year watching the Batman vs Superman: Dawn Of Justice talk we didn't get to see the short teaser video that was shown of Batman in his armoured Dark Knight Returns suit facing off in the rain against a red-eyed hovering Supes...

Fortunately the video leaked and some us got to watch it before they were then all torn down from Youtube and the like by Warner Bros. soon after.

If you didn't get to see the footage yourself all that I can offer you are these images taken from the grainy video by some helpful chap online giving you at least an idea of what to expect before the official version gets released. Enjoy!

And yes Batman's suit is based on this one!

Arrow - Season 3 Extended Ra's al Ghul Trailer!

Okay so the title of the post has ruined a large part of the season 3 storyline by confirming that DC villain (well known in the Batman comics) Ra's al Ghul will be making an appearance, but it's an awesome spoiler and it's tacked straight onto the end of the new equally awesome season 3 teaser trailer (the season 2 stuff comes first so just wait).

Enjoy!

Mad Max (2015) - First Look Trailer

Although this doesn't look 100% like my kind of movie (not an original Mad Max fan either) it still looks mighty impressive. I'll hold back my judgement on this until I've seen it.

Simpsons & Family Guy Crossover Episode - 5 Min Preview!

Below you'll find a 5 minutes preview of the upcoming Simpsons/Family Guy crossover episode which aired at the Sand Diego Comic Con in the last few days. Be warned it's not 100% kid friendly, but it still looks highly watchable. :)

Game Of Thrones Season 5 - New Cast Member Announcement Video!

If you're a Game of Thrones TV show fanatic like most people (including me) then you'll be pleased with this new cast member announcement video for season 5. Details for each character are then listed underneath. :)

Alexander Siddig as Doran Martell. Doran Martell is the ruling lord of Dorne and older brother to the late Prince Oberyn Martell. Unlike his brother, Doran is even-tempered and deliberate. Now, all of Dorne waits to see how their lord will react to his brother’s death.

Toby Sebastian as Trystane Martell. Trystane Martell is Prince Doran’s son and heir to Dorne. His father betrothed him to Myrcella Baratheon as part of the alliance offered by Tywin Lannister, then Hand of the King.

Nell Tiger Free as Myrcella Baratheon. Myrcella Baratheon is officially the eldest child of Cersei Lannister and the late King Robert Baratheon, though in truth her father is Cersei’s own brother, Jaime Lannister. For years, she has been a guest and ward of Prince Doran, betrothed to his son, but her position has become tenuous with the death of Oberyn Martell, the Prince’s brother.

DeObia Oparei as Areo Hotah. Areo Hotah is the long-serving captain of Doran Martell’s palace guard, renowned for his loyalty and his longaxe.

Enzo Cilenti as Yezzan. Yezzan was an extremely wealthy slave trader before Daenerys Targaryen outlawed the slave trade.

Jessica Henwick as Nymeria (“Nym”) Sand. Nym Sand is the second eldest of the late Prince Oberyn’s bastard daughters. Her mother was an Eastern noblewoman who brought Nym up to be cultured, graceful and deadly with a whip.

Rosabell Laurenti Sellers as Tyene Sand. Tyene Sand is the daughter of the late Prince Oberyn Martell by Ellaria Sand, his final paramour. Tyene is fiercer than she looks, especially with her twin daggers.

Keisha Castle-Hughes as Obara Sand. A fearsome warrior, Obara Sand is the eldest bastard daughter of the late Prince Oberyn Martell. Her mother was a Dornish peasant girl who caught the eye of the late Prince.

Jonathan Pryce as the High Sparrow. A devout and pious man, the High Sparrow came to King’s Landing to serve those forgotten by much of the world – the poor, the downtrodden and the infirm – and quickly amassed a large following. His fellow believers have swarmed over the city, ministering to the lowest and decrying the corruption of the highest.

Avengers: Age Of Ultron - First Official Mega Poster!

This week during the San Diego Comic Con there have been multiple character posters released by Marvel featuring each member of the Avengers from the upcoming sequel "Age of Ultron" forming pieces of a larger puzzle.

Below you'll find the final amalgamated image with all the puzzle pieces put together to form one epic battle pic with one of the most exciting things being the tiny teaser image of The Vision (Paul Bettany) in the top left corner with Quicksilver hovering above the Ultron drones looking (so far) like the Vision we know and love from the comics.

Seriously can't wait for this, my most anticipated movie of 2015!

Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice - Pics of Batman's Cowl & Cape + Wonder Woman!!!

Below we have multiple photos of the official Cowl and cape for Batman (Ben Affleck) from the upcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice movie. The first pic is an officially Tweeted image from director Zack Snyder and the others are from the DC Comics booth at the San Diego Comic Con 2014 which has been on for the last few days. After those you'll find a grainy but real first pic of Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman taken from the SDCC talk.

Looking good! In Zack we trust!

The Hobbit: The Battle Of The Five Armies - First Official Poster

The Hobbit: The Battle Of The Five Armies has its first poster "The Defining Chapter" featuring Smaug the Dragon facing off against Bard...

Although I'm not as enamoured with the Hobbit movies as I am with the Lord of the Rings I have to admit that I'm looking forward to seeing this final instalment in the franchise.

Firefly Online first gameplay trailer

It's what a lot of fans have been waiting for since it was announced back at SDCC last year, the first gameplay trailer for Firefly online, a new MMO set in the Firefly universe that will be released not only on PC and Mac but on the i0s and Android as well, meaning you can stay shiny and keep flying even when you're on go. Could this be a breakthrough for the world of MMOs?Will this maybe spark that fabled Season Two of firefly to finally get made or will it break the hearts of fans worldwide? Maybe all three. I for one can't wait to find out. So in the mean time enjoy the new trailer and Stay Shiny ;)

First picture of Elsa from Once Upon a Time

Rejoice fans of Once Upon a Time and Frozen! Our first official picture of Georgina Haig as Elsa as arrived along with a back of the head shot of Scott Michael Foster as Kristoff.

What do you guys think? A lot of the response on the internet hasn't been great as a whole, complaining that Kristoff's hair doesn't look right, Elsa's dress looks tacky and that Elsa herself looks too old. What we have to remember is that this isn't a direct port, Snow White certainly didn't look much like her Disney Princess counterpart and thank goodness for that! Personally I'll be waiting to see what kind of actors they are and where they decide to take the characters and their story.

Check out the finale clip from the last episode of season three when Elsa gets free.

Lego Movie review!

Hello Lego fans,

Recently I watched the awesome Lego movie again after the cinema thanks to my Mum buying the DVD for me.
I think the difficulty in making a believable film in the Lego universe could have been brain wracking but the intelligence of the film comes from a young boy creating the story which we then witness before our eyes.
The story surrounds an ordinary construction worker called Emmett who lives his life following instructions and trying to fit in with everyone.
After becoming permanetly stuck to the piece of Resistance that can prevent the Kragle (who the Lego people believe is the most important weapon in the universe because Lord Business prepares to permanently make all of the Lego universes to be fixed and stay the same) which is really is the cap that fits into a tube of glue from a human perspective.
But where the magic of this film is that we get to see both perspectives of the Lego world and the real world.
One of the aspects of the film that makes it unique is the hilarity that comes mainly from Emmett. The responses he shows when he first sees Wildstyle and when he's being chased by the Robocops is always a guarantee for an hysterical time.
Seeing these legendary toys brought to life in wacky and strange creativity is a delight and the story is one that you could only see in a Lego film and truefully gives an important and positive message about everyone being important.
Also, the brilliant 'Everything is awesome' song is ultimately the most ridiculous and ear curling song that I sing when I become a bit hyper.
I have to applaud the animation makers who worked so tirelessly to make the visual aspect so dazzling and stunning in its colour and the movements of the Lego bricks like how the ocean rolled and when Emmett and his friends enter Cloud Cuckoo land.
Everything about this film is awesome!

Doctor Who filming pictures!

http://www.blogtorwho.blogspot.co.uk/

Hello all,

Here are a selection of new filming pictures for the finale of the latest series courtesy of Blogtor Who.
I find it really intriguing to look at how they film the show and the production process. I don't think filming pictures give much goodness away because all of the big stuff is openly broadcast by the BBC anyway.
Also, it's Doctor Who so what you see may be something else entirely!

DC Animation's New Movie Is "Justice League: Throne Of Atlantis"!

As a massive fan of DC animated movies (and TV shows) it's always great to hear about a new release coming soon.

Information was released recently that confirms the next movie in line which will be called "Throne of Atlantis" and will focus on Aquaman, his heritage, and his role in the League.

The voice cast will include Jason O'Mara (Batman), Shemar Moore (Cyborg), Christopher Gorham (the Flash), Sean Astin (Shazam), Nathan Fillion (Green Lantern), Rosario Dawson (Wonder Woman), Jerry O'Connell (Superman), Sam Witwer (Orm) and Sumalee Montano (Mera).

The story supposedly pits the undersea nation of Atlantis against the surface world. Unlike the comics, the movie will focus on how young Arthur Curry discovers his aquatic heritage. Raised by his human father, when the movie begins he doesn't know that he is the heir to the throne of the watery kingdom.

The first images of both the animation and the action figures are below. Can't wait for this. :)

SuperTed And Rainbow Bright Returning To TV?

On the back of the news that both Dangermouse and The Powerpuff Girls are getting a makeover and returning to our screens in the not too distant future is the equally exciting announcement this week that both SuperTed (something I loved a hell of a a lot when I was younger) and Rainbow Bright are also getting a revamp.

From The Radio Times:

SuperTed is being revived by his creator Mike Young who is developing 26 half-hour episodes which he expects to tout to broadcasters later this year. If all goes to plan, the cartoon is expected to air on British TV in two years’ time.

Three series of the original show were made in its heyday between 1983 and 1985 with the hero voiced by Derek Griffiths and former Doctor Who actor Jon Pertwee taking on the role of his accomplice Spotty, and Melvyn Hayes voicing the camp villain Skeleton. In 1989 SuperTed was briefly revived in America by Hanna Barbera.

Young, who created SuperTed in 1978 as a series of written stories to help his son overcome his fear of the dark, says that certain things about the modern SuperTed will change.

“In SuperTed, we had a gun-slinging cowboy, a flamboyantly gay skeleton and a fat guy who had jokes made about his weight,” he tells this week’s Radio Times.

“And all these things you just wouldn’t do today. But you can still write the show in a funny, entertaining way.”

Young also said he wanted to retain some of the homespun charm of the original.

Speaking from his home in Los Angeles, where he has lived and worked for the past 25 years, he adds that the new SuperTed will not be too "slick" which he says can be a problem when reviving much-loved vintage shows.

“We have got to be careful. So often things they re-make come out very slick. I won’t mention any names but many of the stop-frame series have been remade in the UK with less than fantastic results. They sometimes lose the charm of the original production. That’s what we have …got to watch out for, to maintain what the original shows had and that’s easier said than done.”

The reboot is being overseen by producers and distributors Abbey Home Media.

Co-owner of the company Anne Miles said that the fact that some people remember the character gave the project a “built-in confidence”.

“We don’t have to start explaining who SuperTed is, people know," she said. She said that the project would be taken to TV trade fairs in the autumn.

If it gets the go-ahead the remake will join a growing vogue to remake children’s favourites with revivals of The Wombles, Teletubbies, Thunderbirds, Danger Mouse, The Clangers and a Turner reboot of The Powerpuff Girls all on the way.

From Geektyrant.com:

The classic 1980s cartoon Rainbow Bright is going to make a comeback. There are no details on the project or what the animation style will look like. All we have is an Instagram photo of the script from actress Emily Osment who will be providing the voice of the colorful hero. It came along with the following caption:

"First day on the job! Very stoked to be back doing some animation this summer. See you soon! Love, Emily aka Rainbow Brite."

Guardians Of The Galaxy - New Posters

New posters here for the villains and supporting characters of the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy movie.

Is it just me or does Karen Gillan still look as stunning as the blue and bald Nebula as she does with her long red/ginger hair? Amazing.

Avengers: Age Of Ultron - First Official Images!

Okay so this lit up the internet yesterday when it all popped up online. The first batch of official images from Avengers: Age of Ultron via Entertainment Weekly showing not only our first pic of what Ultron will actually look like but also shots from the movie, behind the scene shots, and character/action shots.

What's got everyone hyped is as follows:

1) Multiple Ultron drones on the EW cover.

2) Don Cheadle (War Machine/Iron Patriot) in the group shot (loving Thor's Hammer just sitting on the table) promising his inclusion in this film (we hope suited up).

3) New costumes for all characters including Black Widow's new 'Widow Bite' stinger's on her forearms, Cap's redesigned suit sporting the Avengers "A" logo, Thor's updated armour, Tony not sporting his Arc Reactor chest piece (following on from Iron Man 3) but using the newer Mark 42 armour colour scheme, and then Hawkeye's long top...

4) Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch

5) "Science Bro's"

All of the pics are great and having recently had confirmation via Kevin Feige about the huge inclusion of Avengers Tower (previously Star Tower) and the Iron Man "Hulkbuster" suit taking on Hulk (we saw the artwork ages ago and could only have hoped this was real) this is set to be another amazing Avengers movie!
