New Greek Gods Movie - War Of The Gods/Dawn Of War?

Jumping on the already heaving bandwagon of Percy Jackson and Clash of the Titans comes "War of the Gods" (also know as "Dawn of War").

War of the Gods follows Theseus who retains an allegiance to his mother despite the fact that he longs to join the quest of a king who is battling demons in ancient Greece later embarks on a grail of discovery that has him finding he is the king's son and also fated to become his country's greatest hero as he leads the successful war against long-imprisoned Titans who are hoping to use the demons to restore their power.

The movie already has a few famous names attached including Kellan Lutz as Poseidon, Mickey Rourke as King Hyperion, Henry Cavill as Theseus , Freida Pinto as Phaedra, Luke Evans as Zeus and supposedly Stephen Dorff as Stavros, a master thief who joins Theseus on his quest. The movie will be directed by The Cell's Tarsem Singh and will begin shooting in early April in Montreal.

Bond 23 - Rumour That Rachel Weisz Is The Big Bad?

MGM seem to have recently dismissed the earlier rumour that Freida Pinto (Slumdog Millionaire) and Olivia Wilde (House, Tron Legacy) were both linked to roles as Bond girls in the newest Bond movie - Bond 23 (no name set yet).

However Cinema Blend have now come forward with an unconfirmed tip-off that Rachel Weisz is under consideration to play the new villain, the head of the Quantum organisation behind the crooked goings-on in Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace.

The site points out that, in support of this claim, Weisz is friends with Daniel Craig and they're working together on upcoming movie Dream House; she previously had a relationship with Sam Mendes, who is in talks to direct the next Bond film; and the actress has in the past expressed interest in appearing in a Bond movie with Craig.

The rumour comes from a reliable source but the idea is in the very early stages, says Cinema Blend.

I can see Rachel doing pretty well in a role where she plays a strong baddie, I love her to bits and even though many people mock the Mummy films I personally love them and think she did a great job of playing Evie. Hope this is true as it amps up the old girl-power having her as the biggest bad in the room so to speak!

Toy Story 3 - New Character Pics

A few new and old characters (which I hadn't put up before) from Toy Story 3 for you here...

New Cast Members Added To Green Lantern Movie...

Last week there were a few additions to the Green Lantern movie cast. Here's the info below.

Brazilian actress and model Marcela Duarte joined the cast as an unknown character filming scenes in human civilian attire with Ryan Reynolds on set.

Although he's not up on IMDB the young actor Gattlin Griffith (Changeling) has supposedly been cast as a young Hal Jordan alongside Jenna Craig as the young Carol Ferris.

A rumored casting tidbit is that actor Eric Johnson (aka the most recent Flash Gordon from t.v.) may be playing Guy Gardner, one of the initial candidates and finally future wearer of a Green Lantern ring. This hasn't been confirmed yet.

Actor Jay O. Sanders (Daylight, The Day After Tomorrow) has been cast as Carol Ferris' father Carl Ferris and owner of Ferris Air where Hal Jordan originally works before donning the ring. Jay has been seen on set during the first day of filming shooting a scene in Broome's Bar with Ryan.

And finally, but by no means least, the legend that is Angela Bassett (the woman who really should have played Storm in the X-Men movies) has been cast as none other than Dr. Amanda Waller, a character that has grown in the comics and the animated features over the last few years after her heavy usage in the Justice League Unlimited cartoon made her more popular. Although Waller is usually portrayed as a short portly/sturdy woman I'm sure Angela will bring something new and important to the role which will possibly set her up for future DC superhero movies should the need arise (just like Samuel L Jackson's Nicky Fury cameos in the Marvel movies).

More news as it comes in!

Robert Knepper Joins Stargate Universe...

Not sure if I'm happy about this news considering the last series of Heroes, but here goes...

MODERATE SPOILERS

Actor Robert Knepper has been cast in a recurring role for the second season of Stargate Universe, according to RobertKnepperFans.com.

Knepper will play Simeon, a member of the Lucian Alliance, in a story arc spanning six to seven episodes (story). Here’s how casting documents describe the character:

Simeon is a dangerous Lucian Alliance soldier. He was a seasoned criminal before being recruited by the Alliance. He’s strong and intimidating but more crafty and wiry than big and muscular. Scary in that you’re never sure what he will do. He also holds secrets that are desperately sought after by Earth and those on board Destiny — secrets he would die or worse, kill to protect. He’s an antagonist for several episodes before he finally comes into serious conflict with Robert Carlyle’s character Rush and they are forced to face off.

Born in Ohio, the 50-year-old actor most recently appeared on NBC’s Heroes as Samuel Sullivan, the chief antagonist of the fourth season. Prior to that he played T-Bag on Prison Break, and Tommy Dolan on Carnivàle.

His long list of screen credits also includes The Day The Earth Stood Still, Good Night, and Good Luck, and Murder, She Wrote.

Knepper’s first episode is not yet known, but executive producerJoseph Mallozzi recently hinted on his blog that the actor was in the production offices this week for a cast read-through of a script. With episode #4 (“Pathogen”) wrapping yesterday, the season premiere, “Intervention,” is believed to be shooting this coming week.

Michael Rosembaum In New Syfy Comedy Project...

The following is courtesy of the Hollywoodreporter.com:

Syfy is making a push into live-action comedy with "Saved by Zeroes," a single-camera half-hour from former "Smallville" star Michael Rosenbaum, Sony and Happy Madison.

Rosenbaum and Jonathan Silverman are set to star in the project, created by Rosenbaum and based on his personal experiences. It revolves around two friends, former actors on a science fiction show that has since developed a cult following, who have hit rock bottom and must work together to get their lives back on track.

Although Syfy's lineup remains 70% drama, the network is serious about adding live-action half-hours in addition to the comedic hourlongs it now has, including the hit "Warehouse 13," Syfy senior vp Andrew Plotkin said.

"It helps us counterprogram and bring in younger audiences," he said.

Syfy has one half-hour series on the air, the animated "Outer Space Astronauts."

Plotkin said the network's brass were instantly drawn to "Zeroes" because of the involvement of Rosenbaum, Silverman and Happy Madison, but it was the concept that sealed the deal.

"This is such a personal idea of Michael's stemming from his experience on 'Smallville,' " he said. "There is a lot of character depth to it."

Plotkin can relate to Rosenbaum's experience: As an executive at Warner Bros. TV, he was involved in the development of "Smallville."

Rosenbaum got the inspiration for the show while attending numerous sci-fi/comic book conventions while on the long-running WB/CW series. He describes "Zeroes" as "Galaxy Quest" meets "Eastbound & Down."

"Through drugs and drinking, (the characters played b Rosenbaum and Silverman) didn't save money and, years later, the only thing they have left are the conventions, all they've got are their loyal, devoted fans," Rosenbaum said. "Our show is not about being in the business, it's about being out of the business; it's the 'Non-tourage.' We're the losers you want to see back on top."

Adam F. Goldberg is attached to the project, which has received a script order, as executive producer/showrunner. He and Rosenbaum first met for a script Goldberg had in development at Happy Madison for which the company's Doug Robinson thought Rosenbaum would be perfect for.

"We started talking about a bunch of nerdy things," said Rosenbaum, a self-professed geek who regularly attended sci-fi and comic conventions as a fan long before he made it as an actor. "Next thing, we were writing a horror movie together."

The two are shopping that horror pic to movie studios. Rosenbaum also is guest starring on Goldberg's pilot this season for Fox and Sony/Happy Madison.

Rosenbaum, also repped by attorney Todd Rubenstein, next stars in "Father of Invention," while Paradigm-repped Silverman will next be seen in "Swinging With the Finkels." Both are managed by Untitled.

Daniel Logan Returns To The Role Of Boba Fett In Clone Wars Series...

Daniel Logan the young actor who portrayed the pre-teen Boba Fett in the "Attack of the Clones" Star Wars prequel movie reprises his role as the character in an upcoming episode of the CGI animated Clone Wars series.

Here's the info from Jediinsider.net:

Feared throughout the galaxy for his ruthless reputation as a bounty hunter, Boba Fett has long been a figure of mystery and intrigue. And though he only had five lines (and a death scream) in the entire original trilogy, it was his silence which helped establish him as an iconic man of mystery – and a fan-favorite character.

Fett wasn’t always a hardened, masked mercenary in head-to-toe body armor. His origins were revealed briefly in Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones…but the dangerous first steps on his journey from innocent to icon will for the first time be revealed in the thrilling, three-part season finale of Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

Reprising his role from Attack of the Clones, Daniel Logan is back as the boy destined to become the galaxy’s most fearsome bounty hunter. But while his character may be motivated by hatred and revenge, Logan couldn’t be happier to return to that “galaxy far, far away.”

“I’m so thrilled to be part of the series,” he says. “The stories and the animation are just amazing, and I love what they’re doing with the character of Boba. He’s always been so mysterious, and we’re giving fans just enough to keep them hungry and wanting more. This arc is so cool, and I hope the fans will love the episodes as much as I loved working on them.”

THE LAST AIRBENDER

The Last Airbender is an Action-Adventure fantasy film based on the Nickelodeon animated series title Avatar: The Last Airbender. I loved the cartoon and am anxiously awaiting the live action movie. Highly disappointed in the Dragonball Evolution movie I certainly hope this does not disappoint. It is planned to be the first film in the Airbender Trilogy and is influenced by Asian art, mythology and various martial arts fighting styles. M. Night Shyamalan will be directing and producing this film which is not good news in my opinion. I say that because in my personal opinion he has not had a movie that has made me go wow since The Sixth Sense. The movie is scheduled to be released July 2, 2010, so is anyone else out there interested in seeing this movie? Check out the link below for the Trailer it looks pretty cool.

SCOTT PILGRIM vs THE WORLD TRAILER

Wasn't really sure about this movie.....didn't really know how Edgar Wright was going to pull this one off without Simon Pegg and Nick Frost jamming as much funny into a movie as possible..........looks like he's managed it.

Well, let me stress, the trailer makes the movie look awesome..........but yes, we all know how deceiving that can be. Feast your eyes on the trailer and make your own mind up.

THE WALKING DEAD ON THE MOVE

We ALL know that zombies are the new "in-thing" and everything seems to have a zombie slant to it.......Just check out this weeks SUPERNATURAL and you can even see the Winchester brothers blasting some zombie ass all over the show...............But news has just hit that the first official cast member for the TV adaption of THE WALKING DEAD has just been announced.

Jon Bernthal has been cast as police officer Shane, best friend of our anti hero Rick Grimes....I know, I've never heard of Bernthal either but I would imagine that this guy must have some talent as this is going to be an awesome project........he apparently is currently in Eastwick (Yeah, never watched it cause it is shite and has already been cancelled!!)

He wouldn't have been my first choice as Shane in the comic's looks pretty solid and hard.....but the photo's I've seen of Bernthal don't make him look hard or solid....oh well, plenty of time to buff up....shooting doesn't start till May for the pilot.......It's gonna be a long wait!!! Although cut off the shaggy hair and it might not be TOO bad.

I'd like to at least see a well established actor in the fray before filming starts.....just to keep the media happy (it always helps to have a decent name pull in some press) although that didn't do LOST any harm when it started.

With plenty more characters still to be cast, WATCH THIS SPACE............I can tell now, just like a zombie, this series will never die!!!!!!!!!!
