Leonardo Da Vinci To Become The Next Indiana Jones?

Leonardo Da Vinci has been in the pop culture world for quite some time now. A Mutant Turtle was named after him, he was a regular holodeck character in Star Trek Voyager and most recently he was a main feature in Dan Brown's hit book 'The Da Vinci Code'. Now the famous historical icon, painter and inventor is getting the action-hero makeover in a new Warner Bros movie called "Leonardo Da Vinci and the Soldiers of Forever". This new feature re-imagines Da Vinci as a member of a secret society who falls headlong into a supernatural adventure that pits the man against Biblical demons in a story involving secret codes, lost civilizations, hidden fortresses and fallen angels. Basically he's the new Indiana Jones... or old Indiana Jones, however you want to look at it.

It's described as "National Treasure and Raiders of the Lost Ark by way of Clash of the Titans", so we're looking at mystery, adventure and intense action based primarily in the 1400's (unless time travel gets involved, which we can never rule out these days).

This could be great or it could be awful (it reminds me of the "Librarian" movies I keep finding on Sky) but either way it seems that the historical and mythical icons of old seem to be making movie comebacks recently, maybe we're running out of new hero ideas!
