David Goyer & Jonah Nolan Attached To New Superman Movie?

"The Man of Steel" is supposedly the working title for the new Superman reboot movie being planned by Warner Bros & DC under the watchful eye of new Godfather to the franchise - Christopher Nolan.

News hit last week that David Goyer (Dark Knight, Flash Forward) has nabbed the writing job for the new movie and that Chrisopher's brother Jonah is set to direct it too. Obviously the success of both Batman Begins and Dark Knight has proven that the team behind those movies is trusted enough to take on DC's other biggest hero.

The other big news is that that the story will rely on John Byrne's 1986 reboot of the character and will feature Lex Luthor (no surprise there) and Braniac (gasp!).

Brandon Routh will not be back in the lead role (boooo!) and Bryan Singer will have nothing to do with the project (yay!).

Good news for fans methinks, on all counts...

This is good news up to a point in my opinion. Wasn't Superman Returns already a reboot? Why do another one, just have The Man Of Steel pick up where Superman Returns left off. Brandon Routh did a pretty good job in my opinion, and no matter who played Superman for the 2005 film they would have been criticized regardless. I am excited for this upcoming film and I hope it does well enough to birth a trilogy...no more reboots please.
