Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje Might Be Marvel's Black Panther?
During an interview on the red carpet in San Diego this week British actor Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje told MTV that he's in "talks" with Marvel Studios for the lead part in their upcoming adaptation of the comic character Black Panther.
He stated "We're talking to Marvel about Black Panther… This is the first round, so hopefully they'll look at G.I. Joe and see the potential, but it's about time we have a black superhero."
You may recognise Adewale as the excellent Mr. Eko from Lost and most notably as Heavy Duty in the new G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra movie out in August. He's the latest in line for the role after actors Chiwetel Ejiofor and Djimon Hounsou were originally thought of for the part back in 2007 when Black Panther was first revealed as one of the new Marvel movies slated for production very soon.
Keving Feige from Marvel Studios had promised another confirmed Marvel Comics movie announcement on top of Thor, Captain America, and Avengers before the end of 2009 and we haven't had it yet so could Black Panther be the next one?
Only time will tell...
