I shall repeat the post title: WTF? Futurama Voices May Be Recast???
Whilst I was away on holiday I managed to pick up some wi-fi access on my netbook and one of the first bits of info I came across was the potentially devastating news that the voice cast for Futurama (one of my all-time favourite T.V shows) may well be re-cast...
In a move that mirrors the Simpsons voice cast fiasco a few years ago (where this same thing happened but the cast all ended up staying, and with better pay) the studio has put up a casting call advertising the parts played by John DiMaggio, Maurice LaMarche, Billy West and Katy Sagal. In other words all the main characters...
John DiMaggio, Phil LaMarr, and Maurice LaMarche posted the news on their Facebook pages but it could well be a ploy by the studios to scare the cast into not asking for a raise for the new series as it was with the Simpsons. Either that or they've gone completely crazy!
Powers that be: Please, please, please don't change the voice cast for Futurama. It's one of those shows that works primarily because of the voice talent behind it, changing them would be disastrous and would give us a poor man's copy of what could have been.
Let's hope this is either misinformation in some way or the situation will be cleared up with the main cast coming back for the 26 episodes due out next year.
