Tons Of News From San Diego Comic Con 2012!!!

EDIT: There seem to be a few formatting errors with the site at the moment which is making a lot of the vids, pics, and text bunch up without gaps. All browsers experiencing the same problem so apologies for the last half of this post which just looks plain weird!!!

OK, bit of a big post this one, so bear with me... I'm trying to amalgamate all my SDCC '12 news into one post to be more efficient. Let me know if it doesn't work!

LIVE ACTION STREET FIGHTER TV SERIES ANNOUNCED

The new series (called Street Fighter: Assassin's Fist) will focus on Ryu and Ken as youngsters honing their skills. The show will be produced by Jacqueline Quella and comes from the mind of Joey Ansah, creator of the successful fan film, Street Fighter: Legacy.

This thrilling, multi layered series will take the audience back to the formative years of the iconic characters, Ryu and Ken, as they live a traditional warrior’s life in secluded Japan. The boys are, unknowingly, the last practitioners of the ancient fighting style known as ‘Ansatsuken’ (Assassin’s Fist). The series follows them as they learn about the mysterious past of their Master, Gouken, and the tragic and dark legacy of the Ansatsuken style. Can their destiny be changed…or will history repeat itself?

‘Street Fighter: Assassin’s Fist’, the brain-child of Joey Ansah, is being brought to the screen by the core team behind the hugely successful fan movie ‘Street Fighter: Legacy’.

“Street Fighter: Assassin’s Fist will be what fans have been waiting for. Legacy was a taster; a glimpse of what a live-action Street Fighter should be,” said Joey Ansah, announcing the movie. “This takes the story right back to the start – the origins and motivations of Ryu, Ken, Gouken and Akuma. This will become the definitive back-story from which further epic adventures will follow.”

‘Street Fighter: Legacy’ received a rapturous reception from fans and critics, becoming one of the most successful YouTube movies of all time in the film & animation category, with over 8 million views. Christian Howard, who starred as ‘Ken’ in ‘Legacy’ and has co-written the script for ‘Assassin’s Fist’ with Joey Ansah, said, “Our priority is to stay true to the appearance, fighting techniques and canon of the Street Fighter game. At the same time we’ve managed to make this an emotion and character driven story, which will surprise viewers who might just be expecting a super faithful fight fest!.”

FOX'S 'THE WOLVERINE' SIGNS ITS SILVER SAMURAI!

Actor Will Yun Lee has been confirmed as Silver Samurai in the upcoming X-Men Origins: Wolverine sequel "The Wolverine"which is set for release in 2013. Lee has appeared in roles from Die Another Day through to Hawaii Five-O, The Bionic Woman and the remake of Total Recall and although he's from Korean decent he seems like a good fit for the Japanese villain also known as "Harada".

NEW TEASER POSTERS FOR SUPERMAN: MAN OF STEEL & GODZILLA!

Below are two new posters, one for Man of Steek and one for Godzilla. Neither give anything away, due to being "teasers" but still give me teeny-weeny joygasms nonetheless!

NEW NICKELODEON TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES OPENING SEQUENCE & KRANG CLIP VIDEOS!

Who doesn't love the TMNT? No seriously... Who doesn't? 'Cos I'll hunt you down and choke you with a slice of Pizza...
Seriously these videos are whacky, and that's heavily underplaying some serious crazy, but it reminds me of the good old days so much that the opening sequence video brought a smile to my face immediately.

DC COMICS' YOUNG JUSTICE & GREEN LANTERN: THE ANIMATED SERIES NEW EPISODE PREVIEWS!

I love both of these shows, especially Young Justice, so I suggest you sit back and enjoy some SDCC videos for the upcoming future episodes from both... And if you haven't caught either show yet I despise you to your core and ban you instantly from this site. Or I could just recommend you catch them when you can... Either way is good with me.

MARVEL ANNOUNCES PLETHORA OF "PHASE TWO" MOVIES HEADING OUR WAY SOON!
Most of the below has already been posted on here by newbie The Micro Marvel but the below is pretty much all from Comicsalliance.com and has some more info attached.
The Thor sequel, due out November 9, 2013 and directed by Game of Thrones' Alan Taylor, is now called Thor: The Dark World. That ties in with suggestions that the sequel would see Thor explore more of the Nine Worlds of the Asgardian dimension, and suggests that Thor's specific destination is Svartalfheim, the world of the Dark Elves. That in turn gives us a clue at the possible identity of the villain. Bleeding Cool confidently reported that the Enchantress would appear in Thor 2, so when Mads Mikkelsen was cast as a villain many supposed he would play the Enchantress's usual partner in crime, Skurge the Executioner. Mikkelsen looks nothing like Skurge, who is a proverbial brickhouse, but he would be a perfect fit for Malekith the Accursed, ruler of the Dark Elves. Mikkelsen is no longer attached to Thor 2, but expect another sinisterly elven actor to take his place in The Dark World.
The Captain America sequel, set for an April 4, 2014 release, now has confirmed directors in the Russo Brothers and a new title; Captain America: The Winter Soldier. The title inspired outgoing Cap writer Ed Brubaker to exclaim "HOLY SH*T" on Twitter. Brubaker wrote the Winter Soldier storyline in the comics that saw Cap's World War II sidekick Bucky come back from the dead as a brainwashed assassin, so it's probably safe to guess that movie Bucky (Sebastian Stan) is coming back. It was always likely to happen, of course, but may be quicker than most fans expected. Cap's role as a man out of town may be a little compromised if his best bud is hot on his heels, but bringing back Bucky is a smart way to bridge the gap between World War II and the modern day, and we know that the sequel is meant to include period flashbacks.
Oh and there's even new information this week that The Falcon (Cap's long-time partner in the comics) may turn up this time round too!
The Guardians of the Galaxy movie is confirmed for an August 1, 2014 release, with a roster of Drax, Groot, Starlord, Gamora and Rocket Raccoon. That's two dudes, one chick, one tree and one small furry mammal that eats out of bins. Forty percent of the team will be green. No word on what the plot will be, but one might make an educated guess at an appearance by Thanos.
Edgar Wright's Ant-Man has been in the works for a long time. Now we know it's officially in development, though no release date has been given and no actors have been cast. Wright says the story will be based on "To Steal an Ant Man" from Marvel Premiere #47 by David Michelenie, John Byrne and Bob Layton. That's the story that introduced Scott Lang as a burglar who breaks in to Hank Pym's lab to steal technology for his sick daughter Cassie, so the movie will probably feature two Ant-Men. No word on whether Wasp will appear. Wright aired test footage at the panel that showed a stunt actor in an Ant-Man suit popping out of an air conditioning vent to take on armed goons.
Finally, Robert Downey Jr. made a surprise appearance at the panel to air some footage from Iron Man 3 that showed new armor, lots of explosions, and a first glimpse of Ben Kingsley as a villain with ten fancy rings on his fingers. The Mandarin is in the house. This is a rare instance where casting a non-Chinese actor in an Asian role may actually be the smart choice. Usually it's whitewashing, but given that the character originated as a horrifying yellow peril stereotype, casting someone like Kingsley (who is half Gujarati Indian) allows the character to break away from the cliche. Iron Man 3 is due out May 13th 2013 and is directed by Shane Black. It also stars Guy Pearce as Aldrich Killian and Rebecca Hall as Maya Hansen, and the story is inspired by Iron Man: Extremis by Warren Ellis and Adi Granov.
Newest news on this information above is that there's a slight possibility that Gwyneth Paltrow's character Pepper Potts may well don the "Rescue" armour from the comics... This is only a hope based on quotes made from Jon Favreau and Kevin Feige who say they wanted to do it in the last movie but didn't, and are hoping to do it asap... Also there's a bunch of photos of a rather anaemic looking new Iron Man armour which was unveiled at SDCC. Hmmmm... What could this mean? Iron Patriot War Machine armour and now this white and red version?
NEW CINEMATIC TRAILER FOR AVENGERS: BATTLE FOR EARTH VIDEO GAME!
Marvel Avengers: Battle for Earth is the ultimate superhero brawler. It features 20 different characters, including Avengers such as Iron Man, Hulk, Captain America and Thor, as well as other fan-favorite Super Heroes and Super Villains from the Marvel Universe. Players will use motion gameplay to execute explosive super attacks, unleash devastating special moves and play with friends or against the AI in a wide variety of game modes.
This cinematic trailer is pretty cool but I think we all know it's going to suck big time. The proof is in the pudding, or the actual hands-on gameplay to be more accurate, so we'll have to wait and see!
THAT'S ALL FOR NOW FOLKS!
