In the upcoming Nickelodeon TV show, Super Ninjahs, George Takei (original Star Trek's Sulu) plays the grandfather of the main character, Mike, and trains him and his friends in the ways of their family tradition of martial arts. However, Grandfather is dead, and his training comes by way of hologram not unlike a ghostly Obi Wan Kenobi from Star Wars...
George Takei told TV Guide:
"The grandfather has the serious task of instructing the next generation of ninjas, but he also has a lot of funny moments and I find that a refreshing take on the traditional teacher-student relationship."
Looks funny for kids but also complete cack (not unlike the Spy Kids movies).
