"Holy Batman Casting News Batfans! Anne Hathaway Is Catwoman & Tom Hardy Is Bane"!!!
Yep that's right Batfans, Anne Hathaway and Tom Hardy have now been 100% confirmed for Christopher Nolan's 3rd Batman movie "The Dark Knight Rises" and their characters have revealed too.
The gorgeous Miss Hathaway will be playing Selina Kyle AKA Catwoman (I can see her doing that quite well) and Tom Hardy is playing Bane... Now as I said I can clearly see Anne as Catwoman, she has the body, the sultry look and has proved she's not entirely crap at acting, but Tom Hardy as Bane?
Are they going to CGI the Venom-induced muscle man body of Bane in some sort of Hulk transformation or is Tom hoping to bulk up considerably (see his movie 'Bronson')? No idea but I was sure he'd be playing someone else like Hugo Strange or at least Mr. Freeze. Oh well I have faith in Nolan to do right by this 3rd movie and give Dark Knight a run for its money!
This is the press release:
Warner Bros. Pictures announced today that Anne Hathaway has been cast as Selina Kyle in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises. She will be starring alongside Christian Bale, who returns in the title role of Bruce Wayne/Batman. Christopher Nolan stated, "I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Anne Hathaway, who will be a fantastic addition to our ensemble as we complete our story."
In addition, Tom Hardy has been set to play Bane. Nolan said, "I am delighted to be working with Tom again and excited to watch him bring to life our new interpretation of one of Batman’s most formidable enemies." Nolan will direct the film from a screenplay he wrote with Jonathan Nolan, from a story by Christopher Nolan and David S. Goyer. Nolan will also produce the film with his longtime producing partner, Emma Thomas, and Charles Roven. The Dark Knight Rises is slated for release on July 20, 2012. The film will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company

I can't quite picture her as Catwoman but then again at first no-one could picture Heath as the Joker either and he surprised us all.
