THOR
Jaimie Alexander and Colm Feore have been added to the cast of Marvel's upcoming movie THOR. Miss Alexander will be playing the role of "Sif" (a fierce Asgardian warrior and one of Thor's love interests, a role we thought Natalie Portman would be playing originally) and Colm Feore will be playing an unknown villain.
Now the real interesting this here is that Colm Feore (know for many roles including the main antagonist "Lord Marshal" in The Chronicles of Riddick) has been chosen to play a role so secretive at this point that the studios aren't even giving the information to the cast, or placing his name in the scripts yet. Could this mean that he's a high profile villain that is important to a future Marvel movie? Say The Avengers or Captain America? Do we think that if he isn't just some random bad guy that he could be the villain that bridges Thor and The avengers, bringing Thor to Earth after his Asgard exploits? Could he be a villain the Internet seems to be hoping for? The RED SKULL?
Well, even if it is just a random rumour by comic fanboys, you can't deny that if you painted Colm's face red you'd be halfway there for the character. His facial bone structure alone would suit the role! We'll see. He'll probably just be some random Asgardian/ human bad guy now and all hopes for someone as big as Red Skull will be lost... Can you think of someone else he could play? Either from Thor's back catalogue of villains, or the whole of Marvel's?

The Incredible Hulk
OK, so not exactly news as such, but Edward Norton was interviewed by MTV recently and said that he is hoping that the Hulk will be the big bad guy the Avengers have to battle in the upcoming movie.
"In the comics, there was always a tension between the rest of the superhero community and he was always this problem... They treated him as this problem," said Norton"
Norton said he could definitely see the Hulk character becoming something that the rest of Marvel's superheroes joined forces to battle. After all, Hulk's never been shy about telling the world he's "the strongest there is."
"I think that's a fun way to go with it," said Norton.

Ghost Rider 2
Although the thought of a second Ghost Rider movie scares the living hell out of film fans (if you didn't know, the first movie pretty much sucked) there is talk of the second movie being written by David "Dark Knight" Goyer. Nicholas Cage is still set for the main role of Johnny Blaze but it looks like there's a more positive attitude towards the sequel now that some serious writing power has ended up behind it. It's a shame that this didn't happen for the first movie as it could have been great, but Marvel are obviously spitting out movies left, right and center and believe a second GR movie will make money... Well, it is their money after all!
Venom
Sony have confirmed that their Spider-Man 3 spin off movie "Venom" is now moving forward, regardless of the fact that both Eddie Brock and the Venom symbiote died at the end of the 3rd Spidey movie. Zombieland co-writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick have turned in two drafts for the movie and Sony are now looking to start production, but no news as to when.
I'm not at all interested in this movie and Venom's appearance in Spidey 3 was absolutely terrible... TERRIBLE! More news as it's released.

Daredevil
It seems that The Fantastic Four isn't the only Marvel movie getting a complete overhaul for its next outing. Empireonline.com has stated that the studio are quietly developing a new version/ reboot of Daredevil to fit in with their newer movies such as Iron Man etc. No news on whether Ben Affleck will return (but then why would he if it's a new version/ reboot?) and no other news at all to do with the movie, but again it's not one I'm at all interested in!
Green Lantern
One of the most anticipated DC movies to have been announced has had some minor news updates recently. A casting call went out for Carol Ferris, Dr. Hector Hammond, Sinestro and Abin Sur. On top of those characters now being confirmed artist Rob Liefield said in an interview with Nukethefridge that he has seen the script and can tell us that Kilowog is also in there and at least a third of the film is based on OA, the home planet of the Guardians of the Universe and the Green Lanten Corp.
I think that news isn't really news at all as these characters and the location are pretty obvious additions to a Green Lantern movie, but it's nice to have them confirmed nonetheless.

Spawn
Todd McFarlane wants another Spawn movie asap and we've all known for a while that this has been on the cards, but one thing I didn't know was that he wants to make the film more of a detective noir movie with Spawn hiding in the shadows, shying away from the big budget colourful action movie released previously.
McFarlane says: "The reason I want to go small with it is that it's a completely R-rated movie," said McFarlane. "If I sell it up big, studios want that PG-13."
"They're a little bit gun-shy with Watchmen not doing the numbers they'd like," he explained. "But I've met people who make $5 million dollar movies for a living, and they walk around with the biggest grins on their faces."
"If i take the offer of the big studios with the big budgets and big production values, that's all nice and you have a better chance of getting a big star, and it works for them commercially, but as I get older, it's sort of less interesting to me," he said.
Another one I don't really care for!

Silver Surfer
Another "on the quiet" production from Marvel studios is "Silver Surfer" who's supposedly getting his own movie after appearing in the Fantastic Four sequel in 2007. No news has been released so no one is sure if Doug Jones or Laurence Fishburne will reprise their roles as the Surfer's body and voice, although Jone's contract does allow for two future appearance's. I would hope though that this movie would be a prequel, showing his origin, rather than a FF spin off sequel. And that the audience doesn't get shafted with another useless version of Galactus. We want the original devourer of worlds dammit!
Deadman
DC comics' Deadman is yet another comic character being brought to the big screen in the not too distant future. This is pretty old news but I've only just come across it. Guillermo Del Toro is set to produce and the rumour is that Del Toro had selected Danish filmmaker Nikolaj Arcel to direct, although this has been debunked since.
Wonder Woman, Flash and Shazam (Captain Marvel)
Unfortunately since the recent creation of DC Entertainment the news is that Wonder Woman, Flash and Shazam have been cancelled with no intent for any future individual projects featuring these characters. There is hope for the live action Justice League movie again though so you might be seeing at least two out these three on the big screen, just not by themselves.
Ant-Man
After the initial news that Shaun of the Dead director Edgar Wright was attached to direct an Ant-Man movie it seems that recently, when Disney bought out Marvel, there was a vested interest by Pixar to take over the reigns and turn the tiny hero into a CGI movie instead. I'll admit that this does seem pretty cool, but will it be too cutesy and funny? If you've ever read Robert Kirkman's Irredeemable Ant-Man comics you'll know that this is the way to go, rather than sticking to Hank Pym's character from the Avengers...
