Ben 10: Evolutions Coming Soon - Plus Who's Behind The Voices Of Alien Force?

Brand new news to me this week was that the amazing Ben 10 cartoon is getting its third T.V. incarnation in the form of "Ben 10: Evolutions".

"The all-new animated series follows 16-year-old Ben Tennyson as his secret identity has been revealed to the world and now he's an international mega-star super hero, loved by kids all over the world but distrusted by many adults. Now armed with a mysterious new Omnitrix, Ben will see action in places he's never been before. The first season of the series is set to contain 20 episodes".

If anyone watched the brilliant final double episode season 2 finale recently ("War of the worlds" which really was frickin cool) you would have seen that after Azmuth (the Galvan creator of the Omnitrix) gave Ben temporary access to over 1million aliens by unlocking the master control for him to defeat the Highbreed, all its power got used up and the Omnitrix reset itself and 10 different aliens where then available (although you didn't really see anything, Ben just says he doesn't recognise the new alien and says "here we go again!").

It seems that Azmuth originally programmed every alien race in the galaxy into the Omnitrix and instead of the 10,000 Ben knew about (set up as groups of ten that can only be accessed one set at a time so we're told) there's potentially a never ending supply of aliens for Ben to transform into... If he can only access them again!

It's an awesome selling technique for toy manufacturers like Bandai who can keep releasing waves of toys every time Ben, Gwen and Kevin change their clothes or a new bunch of aliens come along. They even change the Omnitrix in the cartoon so that they can release a new toy based on it! Genius! They have an almost never ending supply of characters to call upon in the future should they need them... and kids really will go nuts for them, as they already do.

This new T.V. series will be set one year after Alien Force and obviously as you've read above; things will change dramatically for Ben. But will we see Grandpa Max return, do they even need him anymore? Or Julie and Ship? Will Gwen's powers have changed or advanced once again? What will be the names and powers of the 10 new aliens that have their DNA stored in the new Omnitrix, and who will be the "big bad" of the new series? All will supposedly be revealed in 2010 when Evolutions is set to air.

Fo now you might be happy enough to watch this video of the Alien Force voice cast talking to Cartoon Network at SDCC last year. Did you know that Gwen was the girl from Mel Gibson's "What Women Want" movie? I didn't!
