Lobo Movie - Journey 2 Director Taking On Live Action Film?
From Geektyrant.com:
Warner Bros. has made an interesting choice on who will direct the big screen adaptation of the comic book Lobo. They've hired Journey 2: The Mysterious Island director Brad Peyton to take it on. I'm not sure how this guy got the gig, the other film he directed was Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore. I just don't think that Peyton sounds like Lobo material, but who knows what he has planned. After all, he was able to win over Warner Bros. and get hired by them.
Lobo is a seven-foot tall, blue-skinned, indestructible and heavily muscled anti-hero who drives a pimped out motorcycle, and lands on Earth in search of four fugitives who are bent on wreaking havoc. Lobo teams with a small town teenaged girl to stop the creatures.
At one point Guy Ritchie was slated to direct the movie that follows an interstellar alien badass bounty hunter. At the time he ended up dropping out to focus on Sherlock Holmes 2. One of the first scripts for the movie was written by Don Payne, and Joel Silver, Akiva Goldsman and Andrew Rona set to produce the flick.
