Everyone will be made immortal (or at least no one can die) except Jack... He'll be made mortal by the effects of the new plot and will therefore give a reversed dynamic to the ongoing storyline. Before he couldn't die, now he's the only one in the world that can!
Does that mean that Jack will be killed off by the end of the new series? Who knows!
