London MCM Expo Tomorrow

The entire KW League are off to the London MCM Expo tomorrow at the Excel Centre. The Dark Knight and I are primarily going to get Linda Hamilton's autograph but there's a couple of other people worth grabbing too. We'll be in before 8:30am thanks to our industry passes but if you're there and you see a guy walking round with a shaved head and very short mohican down the middle with an unshaven face that'll be lil'ol me. Stop me and say hi if you feel the urge! The Emerald Knight and The Crimson Blur will also be there and we're all hoping to have a blast at our first convention of 2009.

I'm going to be knackered what with my daughter's 6th birthday party tomorrow too!

Just FYI I'll also be attending Collectormania 15 in Milton Keynes and the Red Dwarf con 'Better than life' in Bedford next month, so again if you're there and you see me come and say hi!

The whole media guest list for MCM is below. Click for a larger image.

Au revoir for now!

M. Night Shyamalan's The Last Airbender Movie - First Images

Although I'm aware of 'Avatar - The Last Airbender' due to its presence on T.V. and through my work, with the action figures from Mattel a couple of years back, I don't know a hell of a lot more about it. I hear it was pretty popular with kids, and I knew a movie was being made my M. Night Shyamalan, but I didn't know it was already filming or who was starring.

These two images below from USA Today show 12 year old newcomer Noah Ringer in the lead role of 'Aang' the Airbender and 19 year old Slumdog Millionaire actor Dev Patel as 'Zuko' the Firebender. Both actors are experts in martial arts, Ringer being an expert in Tae Kwon Do and weapons (which is how he got the role, he sent in a demo tape of his martial arts skills) and Dev Patel was a black belt in Tae Kwon Do before he even started acting.

The movie is set for release in June 2010 and has some positive vibes on the grapevine so we'll have to wait over a year to see if those vibes are right!

Harry Potter And The Half Blood Prince One Sheet Poster

The latest poster from Half Blood Prince has just been released and it posted below. Not the most exciting poster of all time but my haven't the little ones grown!

Surrogates - New Trailer

This is the first trailer for Bruce Willis' new futuristic sci-fi movie 'Surrogates' in which humans live their day to day life in the real world through cyborg avatar's. When mysterious murders start happening where an avatar's death results in its human controllers too, Willis has to investigate, eventually having to rely on his human body in a world populated by powerful and dangerous cyborg counterparts.

I really like the look of this movie and it reminds me of I-Robot with aspects of the Matrix, both of which I really liked.

Enjoy the trailer.

Slave Leia - Secret Wishes Costume...

OK so today Jedi Master Nads sent me over a link for a new female costume that's being advertised by Diamond Comics Distribution via their Previews web page. Under the product range "Secret Wishes", which basically means "costumes for geeky guys who wish to boink women dressed as their favourite female hero/TV/fantasy babe", this get up is the Princess Leia in a gold bikini (Slave Leia) release (no surprise coming from Slave Leia obsessed Jedi Master Nads!).

Carrie Fisher may have been cute back in the day and spawned a fetish obsessed legion of fans for an entire generation, but if she looked like the model below it would have been a whole different ball game... Why is the gold bikini such a sexual phenomenon? Even Rachel dresses up in one for Ross in Friends! Either way this new costume joins a huge range of quality costumes that now include other characters like Supergirl, Batgirl and Wonder Woman amongst many others!

Ben 10: Alien Swarm - New Pic And Trailer

It would seem that half the hits the blog gets lately are due to a small post I did on the new Cartoon Network movie 'Ben 10: Alien Swarm'. There's a hell of a lot of fans out there gagging for more on this film so I'm posting a new pic (above) and the first available trailer (below) for all the fans out there. Cast info can be found HERE on IMDB. Supposedly you're all going to have to wait until November this year before you're able to see it though!

Enjoy!

Transformers 2 - 6 New Pics

Another 6 new pics from Transformers 2 - Revenge of the Fallen have been released recently. Here they all are below.

Oh and if you're interested in ruining the entire plot to the movie for yourself, before you go and see it, a few sites have posted the contents of a new novel and kids book which give away everything about the movie... One such link can be found HERE

Not sure how accurate it all is compared to the movie but if you're impatient or won't get to see it in the cinema for some reason, this may be for you!

New Online Lego Star Wars Game - The Quest For R2-D2

Jedi Master Nads sent me some info on a new Lego Star Wars game he found recently. It's an online game which you can play via this LINK (but you have to install a plugin to do so).

My eldest daughter and I are obsessed with the Lego games on the X-Box 360. I can't wait for the next full game to come out, we've already completed The Star Wars - Complete Saga, Indiana Jones and Batman Lego games together!

This from the creators 'Three Melons' and LEGO...

It's a story-based role playing game, packed with action, humor and rich visuals. It begins when, lost in space, R2-D2 starts emitting a distress call without knowing that his signal contains the blueprints to build a powerful secret starship. Whoever can amplify that signal will get both the droid location and this unique new weapon! Players can choose to join either side of the Clone Wars conflict and fight their way to victory. If you're wondering if Anakin Skywalker, Obi Wan Kenobi and Count Dooku will be in it, the answer is yes! You'll also get to show off your light saber skills. The full game will consist of fifteen levels to be released throughout the year, which will include an asynchronous multiplayer option and a few other special features....So stay tuned!

Funny Pic

I don't quite know why I find this pic so funny but I came across it a while back and found it again on my PC today...

Blameitonthevoices.com Is Cool!

Every so often I come across interesting sites while perusing the world wide web and today I stumbled upon www.blameitonthevoices.com

There are literally hundreds of sites like this all over the place I'm sure, just as there are hundreds of blogs like mine, but I thought I'd post about it anyway. It's one of those sites that contains images, videos and jokes that make you go "WTF"? I love stuff like this and I browsed dozens of pages with a smile on my face for the entire time!

When you get the time pop on there and have a laugh!

New And Returning Shows

A Dark Knight Post

Dark Knight here, still in a state of shock and dismay as Sarah Connor has been officially canned!!!

BOO HISS....

I have however just found a clip for the new series of "V" (Sorry DK, posted this below already! KW). And it has some fan favourites from some great sci fi shows......Elizabeth MITCHELL (Lost), Morena BACCARIN (Firefly, Stargate), amongst others.

This should be good.

On the subject of cancellation, the good news is that there is more DOLLHOUSE, which although slow to start, has come up with the goods (DUSHKU in bondage gear for one!!!). Another series of REAPER (woo hoo! KW), more LOST (woo hoo too! KW), and the fantastic sounding DAY ONE have been picked up for full series too.

More soon on upcoming new and returning shows.

I'm outta here!

Ghostbusters 3 - New Info?

Although Eliza Dushku has actually de-bunked this rumour below via her Twitter updates, saying she's not heard anything about it but wouldn't say no to the opportunity, the Los Angeles Times has reported the following info about the upcoming Ghostbusters 3 movie.

Aykroyd said Sigourney Weaver is on board now, as are the original squad of ectoplasmic specialists -- Aykroyd, Bill Murray, Harold Ramis and Ernie Hudson. Murray's presence was the pivot point in making a third film happen. He holds a one-fifth controlling interest in the property rights and has been seen as the most reluctant to return to the paranormal comedy. Aykroyd said that is true but that it's more nuanced than the public portrayal of the situation.

"I don't put not making the third movie on Billy. We can't do that. I've been very busy. Harold's been busy, Ivan's been busy. And a third script really didn't coalesce properly. And Billy, you can't blame an artist for not wanting to do the same thing again. He did two of them, for God's sake. Although I'm the biggest cheerleader as the originator of the concept but I've never begrudged Billy not doing a third movie. I never said he held it up or that he refused. Hey, listen, he's an artist. You can't force somebody into it. I'm sorry he never read my third draft because I thought it was pretty good but, look, now we're at a point that there's a story that he can accept and that's going to work, and I think we're going to be in production fairly soon. We could be in production by winter."

The script is by Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky, the writing team behind the upcoming Jack Black/Michael Cera movie "Year One" (directed by Ramis), and Aykroyd is enthused about its premise of a new generation of Ghostbusters taking over the duties of the aging team. Aykroyd said he wishes Ivan Reitman would return to direct the third film in the series but that he's "too busy as a mega-producer" to take it on; his second choice is Ramis, who, of course, co-wrote the first two "Ghostbusters" films with Aykroyd and has numerous directing credits, most notably "Groundhog Day" and "Analyze This." "He has a lot of things going on, but it would be wonderful to see him do it."

Aykroyd says he believes the movie will move forward but that he has also learned that "at any second everything could blow up." The details of story are still in play, but Aykroyd said he's hoping for a five-member "new generation" team with several female members. "I'd like it to be a passing-of-the-torch movie. Let's revisit the old characters briefly and happily and have them there as family but let's pass it on to a new generation."

Who does Aykroyd think would be good in the jumpsuits? Aykroyd mentioned two names, Alyssa Milano (who is a voice in the upcoming "Ghostbusters" video game) and Eliza Dushku. "I think they're amazing," he said. "And I'm excited about the whole idea of getting this done."

So Sigourney Weaver is back and they're looking at hot female actresses to make up the new team of Ghostbusters huh? I'm looking forward to this sequel even more now!

The Expendables Poster

Nothing really exciting here, it's just a new poster for the most testosterone fuelled movie of all time - The Expendables. One bit of info that picked up my interest on this movie though. Did you know Buffy and Angel's Charisma Carpenter is starring in this movie? No? Well you do now.

Can't wait to see her on the big screen amongst some of the biggest action stars of all time!

V - New Trailer And Two Clips

I never watched V when I was younger. Everyone goes on about how cool it was and that it's unmissable classic sci-fi but somehow I missed the boat entirely during its run and then re-runs on T.V.

I had a V annual... I remember that much!

The new re-vamped series will be coming out soon and apart from Elizabeth Mitchell from Lost, who I already knew was starring, Morena Baccarin (Firefly and SG-1 favourite) also stars, and with a major role it seems. Also you'll see Smallville's own Supergirl Laura Vandervoort too (woo hoo!), looks like she won't be returning for Smallville season 9 then!

I'll have to try and catch this when it comes out over here but so far I'm not 100% on how good it will be. The old series had some iconic visuals with the red jumpsuits, the reptile masks, the weapons and the ships etc but this just looks like run of the mill T.V... a re-hash for re-hash's sake.

I could be very wrong, I mean I really have nothing to base that assumption on, so here are the official trailer and two clips for you to make your own judgement on. Reminds me of Independence Day!

Thor Movie - Tom Hiddleston Snatches Loki Role

On Sunday I posted the news that Chris Hemsworth had been chosen to play Thor in the new 2010 Marvel movie. Before that happened though the Internet was seemingly ablaze with rumours that Kenneth Branagh's favourite front runner for the role was his 'Wallander' co-star Tom Hiddleston. Sci-fi wire was one such site and I actually argued with them, through their comments below their post, that not only was their story flawed (via the link they provided at least) but also that there was no way in Hell Tom would be chosen for Thor... Were people actually that gullible that they thought this guy could play the mighty thunder god? Well I wasn't duped at that time and as it happens he's now snatched the role of Thor's half-brother nemesis Loki, a much more suitable and believable bit of casting.

The two actors that have been chosen over the last week are difficult to gauge. I don't have negative feelings towards either at all, I actually think it's currently spot on, but with no BIG Hollywood names attached so far it looks like Thor could be the sleeper hit or possibly the worst of the Marvel movies running up to the Avengers movie in 2011. I personally think it'll be a hit as Branagh is a quality thespian-style guy who knows what he's doing and the actors will know very soon, if not already how much fan pressure they'll be under to get this movie right. It's like an unstable Jenga stack at the moment. They'll need every movie that ties in to Avengers to be bloody good, do very well at the box office, and solidify the actors and characters in the collective consciousness of the worlds audience before hitting us with the biggest and most anticipated superhero movie of all time. Otherwise the whole thing will fall apart...

Can't wait!

Loki from Marvel comics... Will Tom don huge golden horns and the flamboyant outfit Loki wears here in Thor? It'd be cool if he did, I'm sure Branagh can pull that off!

Transformers II - 5 New Images

Not long to go now before my most anticipated movie of 2009 (and possibly all time) Transformers II - Revenge of the Fallen is released.

Here are 5 new images from Cinematical.com, including an ultra hot one of Megan Fox in leathers, to yet again wet your appetites!

Bradley Cooper Cast As Face Man In A-Team But No News On Green Lantern - UPDATED

UPDATED - WED 20TH MAY

BRADLEY COOPER HAS DEBUNKED THIS INFO BELOW SAYING HIS WORDS WERE TAKEN OUT OF CONTEXT AND HE HAS NOT YET EVEN READ FOR THE ROLE OF FACE YET!

Back in the first week of May I posted about Bradley Cooper possibly being chosen to play the lead in the new Green Lantern movie. Although this still hasn't been confirmed by the studios and Cooper himself is simply calling it "an Internet rumour" he did confirm to IESB recently that he's secured the role of Lt. Templeton "Faceman" Peck aka Face in Joe Carnahan's A-Team movie alongside of Common, who will be playing B.A. Baracus (posted this news back on the 9th too).

So now we have 2 members of Fox studio's A-Team, we just need Hannibal and Murdock and we'll have the set!

Hopefully there will be some Green Lantern casting news soon too...

God I loved the A-Team when I was young! I can hear the theme tune now!

Thor - Finally Cast!

Well well well... After an agonising wait (for me at least, being the huge Marvel fan I am) Kenneth Branagh's Thor has finally found it's lead actor.

Chris Hemsworth has snatched the role from the likes of Kevin McKidd, Charlie Hunnam, Tom Hiddleston, WWE's Triple-H (what?) and Alexander Skarsgård, which will see him playing the Norse God of Thunder and future Avenger in the 2011 movie. The news was released HERE yesterday on 'deadlinehollywooddaily'.

Many will be unfamiliar with Hemsworth's work but if you watched the new Star Trek movie, and I have no doubt you have by now, you'll have seen him in the fantastic, action packed and quite emotional opening sequence as George Kirk...
Others will know him for his 171 episode role as Kym Hyde on Home and Away, the Australian soap that's been going for as long as I can remember. He'll also be starring in Joss Whedon's 2010 movie 'Cabin in the Woods'.

The buzz online has so far been positive and I have to say that I'm happy about this casting too. I could have even see him as Captain America, but then I think that the casting for that will have a bigger star and not a relative unknown... And also an American!

One little problem so far with this news is that Chris has also been cast in the remake of 'Red Dawn' which is set for release in 2010, so the question is "is this report a mistake or can Chris get both movies made in time?". We'll have to wait until tomorrow to see if Marvel officially announce his casting.

If it's true; congratulations Chris - Do us proud!

Lost Series 5 Finale and Fringe Season 1 Finale

I'm not going to give away any major spoilers here because I strongly believe that you have to watch both these finale's for yourself to get the full enjoyment you possibly can from them.

First up was Lost. OH. MY. GOD... Season 5 has probably been the best season yet and from a programme that has always raised more questions than answered, alienated more viewers than any T.V. series in history and killed more major cast members than you can shake a stick at, it delivered in spades during the finale. From the very first scene until the very last my jaw was almost on the floor. Revelations left right and center on huge Lost secrets and characters that will posible knock most Lost fans for six when they watch it.

Yes there are issues with the plot, there are issues with time travel and the repercussions of messing with it, there are issues with some cast members not being used enough and some coming out of the woodwork near the end like they were just thrown in to please moaning fans. But in the end it's the tension, action and 'what if' possibilities caused in the final moments that rocked my God damned socks off!

I'm an emotional person, I'll admit that freely. I'm a father of 2 and someone who always bottles everything up, only to explode at a critical moment. I cry at T.V. and films all the time, for happy or sad reasons, and although some people will say that's a weakness I simply see it as a testament to how emotionally invested I get with all the stuff that I watch. Take the new Star Trek the other day. I cried when George Kirk died at the beginning as Jim was being born, I'm a Dad sue me! I even cried with joy when the Enterprise comes to the rescue at the end of the movie and again when the classic music piped up and Nimoy did the famous 'Space, the final frontier' monologue... I cry at the end of E.T... Every damned time I watch it, I cry at almost every Pixar film, I cried, as did my eldest daughter, near the end of Bolt, I even cry when characters die in T.V. programmes. I'm not talking sobbing into my t-shirt crying here, I simply mean that these things conjure up an emotional response from me and my eyes water because of it. People take the mickey but my Mum and my missus ball their eyes out at these things too and I think it's all rubbed off on me over time!

A few times now I've cried watching Lost. For instance when Rose and Bernard were reunited, when Jin was supposedly killed on the ship, when Kate had to give up Aaron and during this last episode I cried when a certain female character seemingly died.

I'll tell you this, if events don't go to plan for the characters at the end of this season, a hell of a lot of the main cast just died too... It was, for all intents and purposes, an explosive finale and maybe one of the biggest cliffhangers in sci-fi T.V. for decades. I saw it all coming a mile off and I have many theories for season 6 but I'm keeping that under my belt for now until everyone across the world has had a chance to see the last two episodes. It was a cool ending to the series and I cannot wait for the next season! I really wish Terminator: The Sarah Connor chronicles got renewed now, that was also a huge cliffhanger ending and I hate loose threads!

Fringe. I love this programme... I think the X-Files fan in me liked this series before it even aired, but as time has gone on I really have grown to love it for everything it offers. The characters are very likable, the story lines each week have grown more and more unbelievable, yet believable within the world created in Fringe, and the build up to the finale has been cooking slowly for quite some time and was pulled of neatly and concisely.

But yeah, OK, again I'll admit there were a few certain little things that felt a somewhat wrong, and maybe a tiny bit rushed, like with David Roberts Jones' fate and the execution of it, and maybe there are too many questions raised regarding Walter and Peter (I won't say what we found out about Peter but it was obvious), but at the end of the day this series is very good at what it does. It should be, it's part of JJ Abrams increasingly top notch efforts in entertainment.

I've said it before and I'll say it again; Walter Bishop is one of the most enjoyable characters to watch on T.V., John Noble's acting is impeccable and incredibly realistic in certain scenes. He is truly very funny, whilst also making you feel so sorry for him and his conditions at the same time, and that endears you to him more and more every single episode. Anna Torv is an honest-to-God natural beauty and mesmerises me every time she's on screen. Oh and if she doesn't end up with Peter soon he's going to get off with her sister and we don't want that now do we! Those two have been gravitating towards each other for a while and I'd love to see them get together.

And I was extremely pleased to have heard recently that season two has now been confirmed and is going ahead. I can't wait to watch the next episode and see where the story line takes us next. Keep the bald 'watcher' guy in too, he could have some serious potential down the line. Seeing him pop up every episode is like playing 'Where's Wally'... Never a bad thing!

And yes, it is definitely true, I do watch far too much television... Luckily that makes me perfect for my job!

Roll on next year baby!

Moon Bloodgood - Maxim Photoshoot

Definitely a post for The Dark Knight here...

Moon Bloodgood, recent star of the bloody awful Streetfighter: The Legend of Chun Li and the soon to be released summer blockbuster Terminator: Salvation, has recently posed for a fantastic photoshoot for Maxim magazine.

Remember this though Moon-fans, Miss Bloodgood may not be topless in the cinema version of Salvation but McG has promised she will be on the DVD release... And there you will have a pause and rewind button... Oh joy of joys... Ya bunch'a pervs!!!!! ;P

Here are the pics from the photoshoot for your viewing pleasure:

Vote - The UK's Best Looking Girl Band Ever...

OK, so after posting how hot Alesha Dixon (ex member of UK girl band Mis-Teeq) was I thought I'd try and compile a list of super hot UK all-girl bands and ask you, the blog readers, which you think were, or are, the hottest ever.

I've always considered Girls Aloud to be the most beautiful girl band in the world, let alone the UK, but recently having seen videos and pictures of new fledgling group 'The Saturdays' I have to admit that Girls Aloud have some serious competition. Being the female obsessed guy that I am I've always fancied one or two members from almost every girl band out there. For instance Heidi from Sugababes, Alesha from Mis-Teeq, all the girls from Eternal, Geri and Mel B from Spice Girls, all the girls from All Saints, Jenny Frost from Atomic Kitten, pretty much all the girls from Hope, Cheryl and Sarah from Girls aloud and most recently Una, Mollie and Frankie from The Saturdays! Yes I do like women a lot... And that's just the all-girl bands, it doesn't include the bands where guys in it too or there would be Faye from Steps, Hannah from S Club Seven etc etc... the list would go on forever!

Please feel free to comment below and we'll see which band rules supreme in the hotness stakes. If you think I've missed out a UK girl band that doesn't have a pic below let me know!

Weenicons Rule!

Recently I discovered 'Weenicons'... "What the hell are Weenicons?" I hear you ask! Well Weenicons are a set of products such as t-shirts, mouse mats, coasters, figures, art prints and various other collectible items that have images of stylised cartoony versions of your favourite cult T.V. and movie characters on them...

I actually own a 'Hero of the beach' Hasslehoff/ Baywatch t-shirt that I bought a while back but at the time I wasn't aware of just how cool this brand is. I'm desperate to get my hands on the B.A. Baracus figure that is being created and I'm sure if I see any Weenicon items at one of the conventions I'm going to this year I'll snap them up quick smart!

The website is under construction at this time which is HERE but you can find these products all over the web. Forbiddenplanet are doing some of the posters at the moment (I featured the A-Team one a while back in one of my posts). One of the best places to find the stock though is at www.urbangraphicshop.co.uk Although I still can't locate the figures yet!

As you can see below their product range is very cool and the proposed Rocky and Alex (from Clockwork Orange) will be the next figures to hopefully to get made. Such a cool brand I'll just have to start collecting now!
