Supernatural - A Dark Knight's Obsession

A Dark Knight Post

As promised, I now feel the need to share with you loyal blog readers the wondrous series that is SUPERNATURAL......and for those of you that get bored easily, I promise to sum it up in all its wonders in under 1000 words.......and a few clips to wet your appetite.

So far we have seen our main characters, Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles - previously of SMALLVILLE!), running and gunning across America, killing all sorts of things that go bump in the night. Its 4 seasons......soon to be 5 (already confirmed by CW!! good choice guys).....have seen them searching for their father (WATCHMEN'S COMEDIAN played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan), making deals with cross-road demons, trying to cheat death, and going to Hell....and in the latest season we see our brothers being led down a dangerous path by angels!!!

Now that's a lot to take in, but stay with me. In between the stand alone episodes we have seen the overwhelming urge grow for the Winchester brothers (and various friends) to track down a yellow eyed demon who killed their mother, and who gives Sam some demon powers intending to make him the leader of a demon army that will storm heavens gates and turn the Earth into the Devils playground.

Now I'll admit that I'll watch almost anything SCI-FI or fantasy to fill in for our bigger shows (SG-1, BATTLESTAR, and the like) which is why I started watching this show, but it soon changed from a filler to an addiction. While the first season of the show had the massive task of setting up years of back story and mythos, it managed to do this without sacrificing the humor, horror, and sheer brilliance of the show. I can only explain this as the fact ERIC KRIPKE, ROBERT SINGER, KIM MANNERS AND McG (the producers of the show) are on top of their creative games...and Ackles and Padalecki have presence and charisma oozing out of them.

I won't give you massive spoilers about the show because i always find watching it better than someone gushing about it.....but suffice to say it rocks in every way, even down to the music such as AC-DC and heavy rock playing every 5 minutes.

If you've never seen it WATCH IT NOW! (almost every episode free to watch via these links for SURFTHECHANNEL.COM or PROJECT FREE TV!!!) and if you have watched some, and then stopped; SHAME ON YOU!!!!

With season 4 being probably the most gripping and dark season so far, it's one not to be missed.

Watch the clips......some funny, some just plain scary.....and enjoy whilst being converted.

And as promised I've included some photo's of the boys..............and for us red blooded males, a few of the hotties that have graced the show over the years!!!

Check out some of the bloopers, best bits, and one of my favourite scenes (you'll see why at the end.......god bless YOUTUBE.

New Product News - Rescue Rangers Statue By Electric Tiki

If you're anything like me you love cartoons and have loved them all your life. Not only have I thoroughly enjoyed recent animation like Batman: The Animated Series, Justice League (& Unlimited), Ben 10, Futurama, Simpsons, Amazing Spider-Man and Batman: The Brave and the Bold (to name but a few) but I was also an obsessive cartoon watcher as a kid too.

I grew up with the likes of Thundercats, Bravestar, Defenders of the Earth, M.A.S.K, Centurians, Talespin, Smurfs, Transformers, He-Man, The Racoons, Dungeons & Dragons, Around the World with Willy Fog, Dogtanian, Family Ness, Dangermouse, Muppet Babies, Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors, The Real Ghostbusters, Superted, TMNT, Gummi Bears and Wuzzles (the list could go on and on). But one of my favourite Disney cartoons was Chip'n Dale: Rescue Rangers (followed very closely by Gummi Bears I might add, I can still sing that whole theme tune in my head!)...

Monterey Jack, Zipper, Gadget and the Chipmunk Boys were a joy to watch when I was young and I have fond memories of the T.V. Series being a lot of fun.

The Electric Tiki Rescue Rangers 9" Statue.

This stunningly beautiful statue, designed and sculpted by Electric Tiki and distributed by Sideshow Collectibles, stands approximately 9" tall and depicts Chip'n Dale plus their super intelligent female mouse friend 'Gadget' in an action pose atop a book-end base. The colours are beautiful and the quality of the build is spot on for a collector's piece. Electric Tiki have brought out some awesome statues in the past, the Buffy statues are among some of my favourite sculpts ever (pictured below), but it's when classic cartoons are brought to life as well as RR has been here that a genuine nostalgic smile comes to my face.

Hopefully this will be up on forbiddenplanet.co.uk soon... I'll have a wad of cash at the ready!

The current roster for the Electric Tiki Buffy the Vampire Slayer statue line. Buffy version1, Buffy version 2, Glory and Dark Willow. Beautiful pieces...

Stargate Universe - Richard Dean Anderson To Appear

A Dark Knight Post

Some more for ya !!!Breaking news!!!

It's DK back with a great piece of news for all SG-1 fans...........The man himself, Richard Dean ANDERSON is set to guest star in Stargate UNIVERSE in one of the first few episodes.

Classic SG-1... Nobody does it better!

Nice to see the big fella back and large and in charge......and he gets promoted too!!!!

Oh, and the long suffering and sorely underrated Walter (Gary JONES) will appear too....no doubt dialling away at the gate controls!!!

From the short but atmospheric trailer, UNIVERSE looks like it could be a great addition to the SG-1 legend!!! Rock on the summer.

There's also a new trailer for UNIVERSE which I'll update you with as soon as it's live.

Coming soon.......4 seasons of SUPERNATURAL in 1000 words or less!!!!! And for the ladies out there, I'll make sure I add some photos of Jensen ACKLES and Jared PADALECKI for your viewing pleasure.

I'm off to fight crime....more to come very very soon!!

The Dark Knight Introduces Himself With Some News On The Sarah Connor Chronicles

A Dark Knight Post

A little intro from Dark Knight. What can i say about me? Well I guess I'm just as much of a geek as Kryptonian, although I try and keep a lid on it most of the time. I have my own opinions about film, comics, and all things geek which I'll share with you. I'll also share a few war stories along the way, as much like the real Dark Knight I also track down the mad and bad and haunt the night. I'll post what I can, so enjoy the ride, and watch for the BAT SIGNAL!!

I've had a totally mental few days.....I've spent 70 hrs over the last 5 days guarding AIR FORCE ONE!!!! Yes, I've stood mere feet away from the presidents airplane, as well as AF ONE's little brother AIR FORCE TWO!!! Very surreal, but kinda cool. Not many people can say that they've worked alongside US HOMELAND SECURITY officers and lived to tell the tale!!

Back to all things GEEK!

I'm officially supporting the "SAVE SARAH CONNOR CAMPAIGN!" as I love THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES. Not only is it a good series in it's own right, but it leads on nicely from T2 and gives a better insight into the TERMINATOR UNIVERSE!!

That, and I love Summer GLAU and Lena HEADY......I want to do naughty naughty things to them!!!!! Check out some of my fave pics below!!!

If you've yet to check out the series DO IT NOW!!! Then sign the petition to save this great great show before the FOX NETWORK make a massive cock up!!

More to come when the bat signal illuminates again!

Dark Knight old buddy, I completely agree with you... naughty, naughty things indeed!

New G.I. Joe Animation - G.I. Joe: Resolute

At the San Diego Comic Con 2008, during the Hasbro panel discussion, a new animated feature G.I. Joe: Resolute was announced.

Now it's 9 months later and the series is set to air this month.

"G.I. Joe: Resolute is an animated series based on the G.I. Joe franchise, written by Warren Ellis and directed by Sam Register. The series will be released online as ten 5-minute episodes and one 10-minute final episode. These episodes will then form an hour-long movie. The movie is scheduled for broadcast on Adult Swim on April 25, 2009".

With the live-action movie coming out in a a few months this short series should have a nice little following...

Ben 10 - New Live Action Movie "Alien Swarm"

Everyone loves Ben 10... It's just one of those cartoons that if you watch it you love it, adult or child it doesn't matter.

The original series did extremely well and its merchandise has been the top selling product range for a record amount of time. Ben 10: Alien Force is the newest incarnation of the franchise (which to me is even better than the original series) with a teenage Ben and Gwen Tennyson joining forces with a reformed Kevin 11 to battle an alien invasion while coming to terms with the disappearance of Grandpa Max.

Ben 10 Alien Force. A great cartoon series!

In 2007 the T.V movie "Ben 10: Race Against Time", directed by Bill and Ted's Alex Winter, was released. The first live action movie spin-off from the cartoon, Race Against Time scored over 13 million viewers during its Thanksgiving weekend premiere in the U.S. and its huge success paved the way for another future live action movie.

"Ben 10: Alien Swarm" now spins off from the Alien Force cartoon series with the teenage alien bashers
breaking rank from the Plumbers (a secret organization that battles alien forces) to help Elena, a mysterious young woman, uncover an alien threat to our world. Joining Ben on his adventures are Gwen and Kevin, super-powered heroes in their own right, who must trust each other’s instincts to help save the day. Alex Winter returns to the director's chair.

The kids have grown up. Kevin, Ben and Gwen ready for battle (someone needs to turn the light on first!).

Who can resist anything to do with Ben 10? The cartoons are wicked, the merchandise is quality and although the first movie was a little poor the second looks pretty cool.

Visit this LINK to watch some extremely short teaser clips for the movie. The transforming cartoons to live action actors is a pretty cool gimmick!

Saw - The Videogame

Yes it's true, as if we hadn't had enough from the Saw franchise with 5 movies under its belt (with VI on its way) Konami, the famous gaming company who already have the Silent Hill property, is releasing a video game for the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 in October 2009 to coincide with the 6th cinematic release.

The game's plot will be original, tying into but not directly adapting any of the films. As "Saw" fans might expect, game play will center on torturer Jigsaw's signature traps, turned into puzzles. Players control a character in an asylum who has to decide whether and how to solve the puzzles and save Jigsaw's victims.

I can't say I've ever been a horror movie fan and even though I'm completely desensitised to gore, the Saw movies are a bit too sick even for my pallet. A game based on these twisted movies will be in the same vain as games like Silent Hill, Resident Evil, Condemned and Manhunter (none of which I've played as it's just not bag) but is said to be far more gruesome.

"'Silent Hill' is more about psychological terror, but 'Saw' for us is more about graphic, intense horror that overwhelms you," explained David Daniels, director of marketing for Konami. "We want players to turn away from the screen for just a moment because of the visual intensity."

Read the whole news story on Variety at this LINK

The only thing good about Saw for me, well at at least Saw VI, is that Karen Cliche (one of my all-time favourite sci-fi girls) is rumoured to be playing the part of a woman name "Shelby". However I won't be watching it as she's bound to get graphically hurt, dismembered or even killed. That's not fun for me...

The amazing, almost Panther-like Karen Cliche. (Star of Mutant X and Flash Gordon)

Sex And The City 2 Gets Release Date

Variety have just confirmed that Warner Bros. and New Line have announced that they will release "Sex and the City 2" in U.S. theaters on May 28, 2010. Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis will all return to reprise their roles and the movie will be written and directed by Michael Patrick King.

John Melfi will produce along with King and Sarah Jessica Parker.

The Missus will be so very happy...

"When You Wish Upon A Star... Jessica Biel Really Will Go That Far" (Topless In Powder Blue)?

Miracles don't happen very often, that's a plain and simple fact. But occasionally when your young and your hormones are running rampant, your selfish, silly wish that the focus of some of that testosterone fueled craziness, a famous Hollywood actress in this case, will get her kit off on camera - can come true.

Many famous women have exposed themselves on celluloid or posed for magazines in various states of undress over time, much to the disgust of most women across the globe and much more to the selfish enjoyment of red blooded males across the globe! Lily Allen even sings in her current chart topper 'Fear' that "it's how you get famous".
When I was young I had a crush on Teri Hatcher from Lois and Clark and Gillian Anderson from The X-Files. Finding out both had gone topless before these programmes in 'The Cool Surface' and 'The Turning' respectively was a dream come true for a young lad obsessed with T.V women like I was (although both were ultimately a bit of a letdown once seen I have to say, sorry ladies). And when women like Pamela Anderson or Erika Eliniak, both from the gratuitously sexy series Baywatch, posed for Playboy back in the day it was talk of the town. Every guy wants to see their female idols in that way at some point, it's just the way we're built.

But in 2009 one of the most stunning looking and physically fit young actresses of our time; Miss Jessica Biel will supposedly go topless in her newest movie 'Powder Blue'.

Powder Blue stars Jessica Biel, Patrick Swayze, Forest Whitaker, Ray Liotta and Lisa Kudrow (to name but a few) in a movie about several Angelenos who meet on Christmas Eve through chance, tragedy and divine intervention. Swayze will play the sleazy owner of the strip club where Biel's character dances. Eddie Redmayne will portray a mortician who falls in love with her. Kris Kristofferson will play the head of a corporate crime organization who tries to convince his former employee (Ray Liotta) not to seek vengeance on his former co-workers. Forest Whitaker, who also serves as a producer on the film, will play a suicidal ex-priest. Newcomer Alejandro Romero will play a transsexual prostitute who shares an unexpected bond with the priest.

Censored images of Biel topless during one of her striptease scenes were shown on US T.V show 'Extra' the other night and footage of Biel training for these scenes was played on Access Hollywood. Both are below.

Biel topless in Powder Blue... I won't believe it til I see it!

And here's the official trailer. It looks like a pretty intense and depressing movie!

I'm not 100% convinced, the same as a lot of people aren't so far, that Jessica would actually do this (go fully topless) for a movie. I know she's not shy of showing herself nearly naked and shares her awesome curves at every chance she gets, but topless is definitely another matter. If it's seriously true all I can say is "You go girl"! It worked for Marisa Tomei in The Wrestler!

Here are some older pics of Jessica just for the hell of it...

The woman with the killer curves!

An elegant beauty...

A scarily buff Biel in Blade Trinity.

An early topless shot... maybe I'm wrong, she's bared almost all before!

Sony Confirms Men in Black 3 and Ghostbusters 3

During the Showest event in Las Vegas yesterday Sony's president of worldwide distribution, Rory Bruer confirmed that not only is Spider-Man 4 set for a 2011 release but also that Ghostbusters 3 and Men In Black 3 were in the works too.

We all know that Ghostbusters 3 was picking up speed and that a solid announcement from someone other than Harold Ramis or Dan Ackroyd was imminent but I don't think anyone knew that Men In Black 3 was even an idea waiting in the wings. Obviously people are hyped about Ghostbusters, it's a classic 80's movie that everyone loves and should do pretty well in the box office with its third outing, but if I remember rightly MIB 2 was pretty much a pile of crap... Why are they doing another movie? Probably because Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith are still major bankable assets to Hollywood and rake in the big bucks no matter what film project they're involved in. Don't get me wrong, I thought the first movie rocked, it's just the second one that failed for me personally for a number of reasons...

Good news for most movie fans I'm sure, and when more info is released you'll find it here.

Transformers - Revenge Of The Fallen New Pics And Transformers Info Revealed

The full confirmed character listing for one of 2009's most hotly anticipated movies 'Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen' has finally been made public. The list (pictured below) shows all the major Autobots and Decepticons that will appear in the movie and adds a few names most of us weren't aware of before now (such as The Doctor and the various Constructicons that make up Devastator).

The Doctor - Decepticon Torturer

USA Today gave a rundown of the newest additions to the Transformer family which is as follows:

AUTOBOTS (the good guys)

Jetfire:

As in the original, this fighter plane crash-landed on Earth a long time ago, and he will become a reformed Decepticon now fighting for the humans. His alternate form is the SR-71 Blackbird, the outdated but still-sleek Cold War spy plane.

"He's old, craggy, forgetful ... doesn't work very well. Can't transform very well, because he's very geriatric. They get stuck with him a lot," Bay says. "He knows the plan of the bad guys, but he forgets all the good parts of the plan."

New recruits:

Sideswipe, a candy-apple red Lamborghini in the original, joins the cast this time as General Motor's silver Corvette Stingray concept car. Jolt is a new foot soldier, played in four-wheel form by the Volt, a forthcoming Chevy hybrid plug-in. Two of GM's other concept cars (the Trax and Beat) play The Twins, nicknamed Skids and Mudflap.

"Some of the junior Transformers are just dumb," Bay says with a laugh. "But it's great for kids because they're like the Little Engine That Could. They're (screw)-ups, but they get really heroic at the end."

For the gals:

Arcee is the only female and turns up as Megan Fox's hot-pink motorcycle. Co-screenwriters Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci say she was in an early draft of the first movie. "But we felt we needed to win the audience over before asking for that suspension of disbelief: a feminine alien robot," Kurtzman says.

DECEPTICONS (the bad guys)

The title character:

The Fallen is an ancient robot, sort of the Transformers' version of Lucifer. He's one of the original robot aliens, and his defiance and arrogance led to his banishment into another dimension.

The screenwriters say that The Fallen holds the key to life on both Earth and Cybertron, the Transformers' home planet.

Other troublemakers:

A smaller, but no less malevolent Decepticon is known as The Doctor — a spider-like droid that transforms into various implements of torture and has a not-so-nice encounter with star Shia LaBeouf.

Then there's a giant one called Demolishor, and another tinier RC one with the sportier name of Wheelie.

Constructicons:

These seven robots — Scavenger, Scrapper, Hightower, Longhaul, Rampage, Overload and Mixmaster — transform into construction machinery, but also link up with one another to form one gigantic robot stomper named Devastator.

"He's made of vehicles designed to build, and he turns into is someone who loves to destroy," Orci says. "He is an agent of absolute chaos."

Bay says Devastator is the crème de la smash and got a uncharacteristic reaction out of the film's executive producer already.

"Spielberg saw it and said, 'This is (expletive) awesome!' " Bay says, and adds: "It's always nice when you can make him swear."

Starscream and Sam.

Ravage on the prowl.

Ravage in action.

Yahoo.com gave the follownig descriptions for the entire Autobot/ Decepticon cast:

# OPTIMUS PRIME: The Autobots' leader - alternate form: Peterbilt truck
# IRONHIDE: Weapons specialist - GMC Topkick.
# RATCHET: Medic - Hummer H2.
# BUMBLEBEE: Friend and mode of transportation for Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf) - 2010 Chevorlet Camaro.
# ARCEE: A female Autobot - motorcycle that belongs to Michaela (Megan Fox).
# SIDESWIPE: A red Lamborghini in the toy line, here he transforms into a silver Corvette Stingray concept car.
# JETFIRE: An older Decepticon who switches sides - SR71 Blackbird jet.
# JOLT: The original toy was a Decepticon, but in the movie he's a good guy - Chevrolet Volt plug-in hybrid.
# SKID & MUDFLAP: a.k.a. "The Twins" - Chevrolet Beat and Trax concept cars.
Decepticon Starscream

DECEPTICONS
# STARSCREAM: Formerly Megatron's second in command, he escaped at the end of the first movie (see photo); F-22 Raptor jet.
# SCORPONOK: The mechanical scorpion that attacked the American troops in the desert.
# THE FALLEN: One of the original Transformers, he's called "the most elemental bad guy" by the screenwriters.
# SIDEWAYS: The Audi R8 seen crashing through a building in the trailer.
# SOUNDWAVE: A cassette player in the original toys; his alternate mode will be a communications satellite.
# RAVAGE: A four-legged, cat-like robot (see photo).
# THE DOCTOR: A spider-like crawling robot.
# WHEELIE: A small, radio-controlled truck.
# DEMOLISHER: One of the Constructicons that transform into construction vehicles.
# DEVASTATOR: A giant robot formed by the Constructicons joining together; individually, they are: Scavenger, Scrapper, Hightower, Longhaul, Rampage, Overload and Mixmaster.

Noticeably absent from the list is the Decepticon leader, Megatron, who was killed at the end of the previous movie and last seen being dumped in the ocean. Michael Bay denied that Megatron is in the movie, but actor Hugo Weaving said in an interview that he had recorded dialogue for the part.

I've said this before and I'll say it again... I can't wait for this movie!
