Seth MacFarlane Wants To Do A New Star Trek Series?
During a recent interview with THR Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane admitted that he would love to do a new Star Trek TV series.
"I don't know who would give me the keys to that car," he jokes, acknowledging that the films have been so profitable for Paramount that he isn't so sure they have a lot of interest in getting back into the TV business. "But I’d love to see that franchise revived for television in the way that it was in the 1990s: very thoughtful, smartly written stories that transcend the science fiction audience.”
If you're a fan of Seth's shows such as Family Guy then you know that he's a big Star Trek fan (satirically or not) and his cameos on Enterprise as an engineer just adds to his ST credentials. I don't think it would be a bad idea at all to let Seth loose with the franchise, but I'd be worried that he might add the odd show tune here or there, or have a sexually confused child or alien as a character...
