There's been somewhat of a fan uproar that female director Patty Jenkins (2003's 'Monster') has been chosen to direct the Thor sequel.
I don't think I'm wrong in saying that Kenneth Brannagh had the same problem when he was announced, and he pulled off a pretty good movie, so I'm going to hold off my own unknowledgeable judgement until the film is actually released.
