Doctor Who- Before the Flood Review

The concluding episode of Under the Lake delivers highly in its explanation of who the Fisher King is and how the Doctor cheats death, although he doesn't really- it was a hologram! It's strange because I was speculating in my head about whether the ghost Doctor was actually real, and I thought, 'Maybe it's a hologram' but then I dismissed it and then I found it to be true! I felt quite proud.

It was so cool when the Doctor began talking to us all, it felt so personal like he was talking to me. It so rarely happens I was thrilled and the rock version of the theme tune should definitely be made official, it was glorious!

So the Doctor arrives in 1980 with Bennet and O'Donnell tagging along, I was thinking what the twelfth Doctor would be like with a couple as companions and thought it would be quite nice and refreshing. O'Donnell's glee at the Tardis being bigger on the inside was adorable, I couldn't help but smile and think that is exactly what I would do... and then she dies.

This was a shocking moment and my body felt stunned, I genuinely couldn't believe it. I think this gave Bennet time to show multiple sides of himself which was to be expected but I was relieved that the supporting characters arre given different material to work with.

It enables the Doctor to respond in new and strange ways, I would expect him to stab Bennet with his eyebrows and argue back when Bennet says about O'Donnell dying was a part of the Doctor's theory.

Back in the base, Clara is mirroring the Doctor's attitude towards using people to 'do what has to be done' as she calls it. I find this evolution of Clara fascinating, I think everything that has happened with Danny and the Doctor regenerating has not had the most positive impact on her and it shouldn't. I like that the writers are showing what can happen to the Doctor's companions when they kind of lose all they are, and that this life with the Doctor isn't always inspiring and fun, everything comes at a cost, and if Clara wants to have this kind of life she's going to have to change to fit in with it.

Her order to send Lunn out of the faraday cage to get her phone back was hard to watch in a way because I love Clara but seeing her this narcissitic was quite worrying. Essentially though, I think that it gave good cause because we got to see that wonderful interaction between Clara and Cass. The atmosphere was intense, Sophie Stone did magnificently well portraying the worried friend and ashamed colleague.

Onto the monster- the Fisher King was a mighty looking alien, and alien he felt. His immense size and the skull like head with boney skeletel structures were vile and menacing bringing some quality villiany.

The pace kept its rhythm as I was completely enthralled by the Doctor and Clara's conversation about time and escaping death, Cass being stalked by Moran was genius and the Doctor popping out of the stasis chamber was entirely what I thought would happen. Not that it was predictable, but I knew it would be something that the Doctor would do, to fool everyone.

By the end, I could feel the coldness and empty space between everyone as the effect of the crewmembers dying being felt hard here. This was lit up beatifully with Bennet ordering Lunn to tell Cass that he loves her. It shred some hope for these characters and knowing that these two were safe gave me some comfort.

A compelling, thrilling, emotional, heartmwarming and shocking conclusion to a story that I value highly as what Doctor Who should be.

Doctor Who- Under the Lake Review

Under the Lake feels like a mix of wonderfully delicious underwater fun that delves into an extremely fascinating ghost story.

I loved the visuals of the story; the illuminated green, dirty corridors that add history and depth to the setting.

From the beginning, the suppporting characters feel very appealing and charismatic as they extend towards their own personality. The script allows us to see glimpses of who these people could be. Of course, we could have seen more from them but I think the sudden deaths lend itself to the frightening realisation that the Doctor, Clara and the team literally have no idea who these ghosts are- are they real or not?

One of the most memorable highlights was the ever evolving relationship between the Doctor and Clara; a sparkling conversation where the Doctor tries to tell Clara not to go Native. Clara has become scarily like the doctor with her wrecklessness attitude seemingly obvious in this episode.

However, it does give us some playful, quirky and fun moments; Clara wanting to high five the Doctor and the Doctor's social cards (I could do with some of those) all adding to a sprinkle of fun in the midst of some fascinating investigating.

More so, the script holds brilliant tension and suspense; the ghosts were incredibly scary with their silent movement and their slight appointment to trying to kill but always staying close behind their victims.

I have a high interest in stories involving water which I think stemmed from The Waters of Mars, the wavy effect reflected on the corridor walls and the water separating the Doctor and Clara gave me shivers.

The mysterious symbols, the spaceship gave the story some unique qualities in that the characters and the audience believe that these ghosts could be real ghosts, but with a nagging sensation that there has to be more to be uncovered.

A slick, funny, compelling, suspenseful with a rocky music score that gives a classic Who story a very modern sheebang! 

Doctor Who- The Witch's Familiar Review

Wait, Clara and Missy aren't dead- well, that wasn't much of a surprise but Missy's explanation of how she managed to teleport instead of disintegrating was very helpful.

The opening of when she's describing one of the doctor's past adventures was visually very dynamic and slick; the black and white colour and freezing of time.

Two parters always need to have the level raised in the second installment and the Witch's familiar definitely amped up the quality of this story.

I'd only ever seen Davros in Genesis of the Daleks and the series 4 finale so I never felt like I knew much about him and his past.

Being able to see his motivations and manipulations take hold in such a deceiving manner was quite ruthless and shocking. I really felt like you could see into the cracks of the doctor and Davros personalities; their guilt, regret and honesty albeit slightly not in this case. 

The doctor and Davros are both playing each other, well, they know each other so well. Davros knows that the doctor's weakness is compassion and uses that to manipulate him. 

He is a very complex enemy of the doctor because he's not evil but just wants to protect his race and ensure their survival.

I found it a bit hypocritical of him when the doctor second guessed his plan, Davros then asked for the his help.

In contrast to all the complex conversations between two old scientists, there is Missy and Clara who, after threatening to kill each other with a pointy stick, seemingly begin to like each other. I can definitely see Missy flirting with Clara at some points, her manic laugh and bonkers range of accents is beyond funny. 

I feel like these two could have their own spin-off show which has led me to wander whether Missy has travelling companions and then kills them after their adventures together. Just a thought.

Oh, and she had a daughter, what? I wouldn't be surprised if she had killed her own child. If she believes that being friends with someone means trying to kill them, then who knows what goes on in that maddening Time Lady brain of hers. There is so much to like about the Dalek sewer scene; Clara inside a Dalek, Missy being Missy and a lone Dalek who has no idea what its gliding into.

The doctor taking a little ride in Davros chair was quite a sight and the comedy value that comes with it was extraordinary. As the decaying Daleks come squelching through the pipes, explosions are a foot and Missy cannot help but try to make the doctor kill Clara! 

This was a great turn of events  because as you can't help liking Missy, you always need to remember that she is a mad, bonkers Time Lady who always has plans of conquering worlds and dominating them. There's not much warmth in those two hearts, well only for the doctor.

After this phenomenal two parter opening, I think we have a staggeringly fabulous series of adventures to come! Now I want to know about the vampire monkeys......

Doctor Who-The Witch's Familiar Review

Here at the beginning of a new chapter of adventure, and what a beginning it was.

It was a tidal wave of ideas, history and monumentous dialogue. A beginning of a battlefield ensures we are immediately entranced and questioning where is the doctor?

This is the question on everyone's lips.

The evolution of the doctor and Clara as individuals and their relationship is seemingly intriguing- she feels stronger, knowledgable and constantly searching for a new mission. Her teaching job looks like it has become her secondary priority.  He looks more relaxed, caring, and fun showing off.

There were so many obsurd and wonderful aliens/ creatures to feast our eyes upon as Colony Sarff, a creature made of snakes, searches for the doctor on behalf of Davros! DAVROS, I truly was shocked and my jaw did not return to its original position for quite some time- The Shadow Proclamation, Maldovarium and planet Karn. Also, encountering old faces- Judoon, Hath and that fish alien from Torchwood! 

He has to be one of the most disturbing creatures in the show- the creepy and spooky way that he travels and the slimy serpents collaborate into one almighty foe!

So the frozen planes in the sky was just Missy trying to get UNIT's and Clara's attention- it's such a Missy thing to do and I love her for it especially the despicable texting, she loves to play games.

Her opposition from playful to killer was completely frightening and added definite devleopment to her character.

Clara and Missy find him in Essex ( my hometown!) 1138AD pleasing the crowds with his guitar! 

I was flabbergasted at this sight but that's the magic of this show- it's imagination and unpredictability is unlimited. 

As a knowing trap ensures, the doctor is confronted with the realisation that he made Davros and that he's standing on Skaro, Clara and Missy have been killed, so the doctor has gone back to when he first met Davros to ultimately, Exterminate him. 

Well, that was certainly a cliffhanger!

Davros depicting that the Daleks are willing Clara to run like hunters toying with its prey was a twisted and horrifying revelation, that made me even more afraid of these tank monsters.

One of my favourite episodes and it's only episode 1 - this is going to be magic!

Partners in Crime N or M? Episode 5 review

As the second story almost comes to an conclusion, this installment is definitely worth tons of comedy value!
Tuppence shows immense bravery; lying that she is working by herself with a gun pointed at her, Tommy blunders in and blows it. Thankfully, Major Caan doesn't seem the kind of man to kill the people who are looking for the same spy as he is.

He lets them go but they follow him to a ball; Tommy trying his hardest to get in without a ticket when his wife has already found a way in by posing as a waitress.
I could certainly see the Tuppence's head pounding as she watched Tommy dancing with Mrs Sprot.

Their childish bickering over who N really is has been ramped up as whenever N is mentioned they both mention Mrs Sprot and Mr Denim, who have both been flirting with them both throughout the third episode.

More so, their evolution as a couple is clearly evident; they don't seem to get very far without each other - they suspect people but when it comes to delving deeper into the mystery, that's when they come back together.

All of this bickering has deterred them from the married couple staying in the hotel but even they are only found to be fraudsters.
Also, there are developments with Mrs Sprot; Tuppence finds some intimate letters she wrote to Major Caan in her draw, she is caught but Mrs Sprot explains she knew that Caan did kill himself because she knew him. Could this just be another cover up?
At this point I can't tell but I still feel like she is hiding something.

Tommy does discover something quite mysterious though. As Commander Haydock pushes him into going bird watching with him quite drunkenly, Tommy scarpers and finds an entrance to some caves with old wooden boxes scattered on the beach.
He brings Tuppence and they explore, one of Tuppence's fears is revealed- fear of the dark. A very human fear that saddles me with a perplex understanding of what they're doing.

Oddly, it leads back to the hotel, a perfect way for N to retreat without anyone noticing. It's then Tommy's turn to investigate Denim. Tuppence has to distract him but doesn't really succeed but I'm guessing it is quite hard to flirt with someone who could be a spy and responsible for the detonation of an atomic bomb.

It seems likely that Denim is N- he's actually German and has a pistol, oh and he also hits Tommy over the head and kidnaps him onto his boat. I would have like Tuppence to have been the one in danger as I think it would have given Tommy's character that space to show how he deals with his wife being missing and how strong his relationship is with Tuppence.

Extremely funny, the plot with spontaneous plans which gives it a never a dull moment feel. The characters are laced with charm, mystery, strengths and weaknesses that we can all relate too, especially the Beresfords. 

Just a quick mention to the costume department who have done an exquisite job; I've been blown away by the array of stunning and lascivious outfits.

Partners in Crime- 'N or M?' Episode 4

The infamous sleuths are back for a brand new and entirely different tale from the first with a sparkly glamour and far more witty lines that had me giggling like an uncontrollable clown.
So Tommy is now in the Wig business much to Tuppence's dismay as they rather enthusiastically make their way to the opera.
Carter gives Tommy another mission to complete- he must find an atomic scientist Gilbert who has gone missing and that someone or something that is connected to him is resided at the Sans Souci Hotel in Cromer.
The setting and costumes were very sparkly and beautiful which gives you a flavour of the period and energy of the time.
You think that the couple may just be spending a lovely evening out but oh no, one Mr Harrison has fallen down and died. Tuppence clearly thinks that something fishy is going on as she raises the question of whether his drink may have been poisoned.

Never before have I seen the London fog displayed with such wonderful lighting. The reds and yellows illuminated the characters beautifully and I certainly did not expect the policewoman to start shooting at Tuppence. I tensed up and hoped that my favourite character would not be hurt. 
Maybe not physically but I think it was right that they should show the psychological strain on the human mind when they nearly come face to face with death. She's a brave and strong woman who surely would not let some pathetic killer stop her from doing what's right.

Off they run to their friend Albert who seems to have taken a liking to the new drama teacher as he asks her to get him a crumpet.
These are some valuable slices of humour that the story needs to give it a lift and show that the lives of the people around them continue to live in a way that we can relate too and that not everyone is being murdered.
Albert reveals cyanide was the culprit which leads Tuppence to lead the investigation.
However, as Carter pops over Tuppence is told to hide upstairs. Does Tommy not know his wife and think that she wouldn't be eavesdropping on their whole conversation? I guess not.
One of the many qualities of Tuppence I admire greatly is her determination, curiosity and capability to take on a mission  that requires spontaneous thinking, cunning and wit.

Tuppence is already at the hotel when Tommy arrives and she has blended comfortably with the rest of the guests especially Carl Denim who openly flirts with Tuppence and likewise Mrs Sprot with Tommy. Injecting more layers of comedy doesn't shift from the drama as it fits nicely as you can use their interactions to try and work out the people behind the names. 

Likewise, it enables Tommy and Tuppence's relationship to evolve and spread open in terms of how their marriage has been affected because of the investigating and other people showing interest.
More so, Tuppence definitely feels betrayed that Tommy would swear that nothing was going on when she clearly knew different. I think she feels the same towards Tuppence because he knows how capable and brilliant she is at investigating but because of the period she is cut out due to being female.

But that is why we need more female roles like Tuppence on television who are not afraid to say that they can do the same things as men. And that they are not weak but stronger mentally because they know that they deserve to achieve the same things and go on adventures that proves their value. 

Partners in Crime 'The Secret Adversary'- Episode 3 review

As the beginning of the episode started I felt a great deal of empathy for Tuppence as she had to just sit and wait for Tommy to come home. And she didn't have any idea what had happened to him.
Thankfully, he returned but had to try and hide the fact that he is now working for Brown which he didn't seem to manage very well. Tuppence just followed him until he told her which I think shows courage and bravery because he had to have a big weight of having no-one to turn too to keep his son safe.

Fortunately, Tuppence had a plan and they were well on their way to delivering the Linden Tree file to Brown's men.
Sneakily, Albert and Tuppence to fit trackers onto the men's cars and they followed them, only to discover that the brakes of their car wasn't working.
This added well to the increased amount of danger and thrill of not knowing how far Mr.Brown would go.

They come home to discover that their home has been ransacked which leads them to Jane Finn's book.
The couples relationship is given a lot of changes from Tommy keeping what happened to him in Soho secret, the excitement of them realizing that they work better together and the unexpected betrayal of Peel who is revealed to be the infamous Mr.Brown. 
It was quite shocking as I was more inclined to believe that it was Julius as he was the one brandishing a gun and threatening the pair.

We find out that he is in fact Jane's lover and just following orders from Brown to find the tape recorder and destroy it. Which Tommy and Tuppence discover was hiding in with his queen bee in the Shed after they realise that, 'Anassa' is in fact translated as Queen.

I have to mention the music again as there is some fabulous twangs, twinkly soft tones that bring the adventure and chilling scenes to life, especially in the deserted warehouse where Tommy hands the file over and we see what has happened to Annette. 
My body felt very tense and I was genuinely fearing for Tommy's life with the silence, then a quick flash of torchlight illuminating a figure with a gun.

There were many twists that filled the conclusion of the story and I felt very statisfied with how it ended. I would have prefered Peel to have not killed himself but I understand why he did it.
The most exciting and thrilling aspect of this episode was the two main stars who continue to bring so much wit, warmth, comedy, love and spontaneity to the roles that I just want to see more!

Partners in Crime 'The Secret Adversary' Episode 2 Review

Well, that was an incredibly tense and nasty cliffhanger. Tommy was about to be beaten with a hammer but luckily Mr.Brown phoned just in time to give Tommy a job to do.
His son has been threatened which highlights the vicious and callous nature of these criminals.
It really feels like the opposition has been raised as we along with Tommy and Tuppence realise how dangerous these men are. 
The couple's decision to completely ignore Carter and continue with the investigation is a wonderful development as they seem to enjoy delving more into the mystery.
As the pair separate into their own little adventures, I have been able to see vulnerability and uncertainty within both of them.
Tuppence is trying to find new ways in which to sneak a peak into Rita's room that needs a set of keys to be opened, pointing out the fact that if someone locks a certain room then there is definitely something fishy going on.
Neither of them know what is going to happen and yet they still stay strong and try there best to save Jane Finn. They are scared for themselves but are willing to take the risk and there is courage and bravery in both of them.
These scenes were by far my favourite; Tuppence becoming increasingly annoyed at Rita's cat and her using a tape recording of a type writer being used just to get out of the job she is meant to be an expert in.
Tommy's undercover work is equally amusing, he doesn't show much expression that he is the Mr.Brown who everyone is afraid of. 
As he gets into his stride, I did feel for him when he had to watch whilst the man who knew he was an imposter, who was killed right in front of him.
I like the change in direction that this episode takes when Tommy and Tuppence have to drug Mr.Drennon so they can get the thousand pounds they need to give to the beastly criminals. But the money drops out of his jacket and is given to the police so they have to spontaneously have to think of a new way in which to acquire the money. 
I thought this was a clever way of dropping some reality into the story to tell its audiences that not everything goes the way you hope it will.
After the mystery of the word- 'Anassa' I am counting the days for episode 3.  

Agatha Christie's Partners in Crime Episode 1 Review- The Secret Adversary

The BBC has always produced high quality period dramas and this new adaptation of Agatha Christie's Tommy and Tuppence  novels has really drawn me into Christie world with sparkle, gravitas and style.
Obviously, I was aware of the ITV Poirot and Marple stories but they never seem to interest me. I don't think it had anything to do with the plots themselves because I always admire writers who can create a really chilling, complex crime story.
But I have found with the Tommy and Tuppence novels in particular, it is the characters themselves that have made me actually obsessed with the show and it's characters.
Importantly, I think that is extremely valuable to have a female lead who refuses to be what society expects of her. Tuppence is independent, curious, intelligent, caring, loving and witty with this incredible love of investigating and living life as an adventure.
To me, I find that very appealing as a viewer and if there are any Agent Carter fans are out there who also watch the show, I hope you see the similarities between Peggy and Tuppence. They both know their value and they're not going to let anyone tell them otherwise which is how it should be.
In particular, I love that Tuppence is willing to masquerade as different people and put her own life in danger for the sake of her country. Not to say that Tommy doesn't do the same. I have seen some extraordinary bravery from him in this episode, those crooks he encounters are terribly creepy.
There were some fabulous flirty moments that I found hilarious because there is something so original about a married couple in the middle of solving a mystery who are then smirking at each other in the midst of almost being seriously hurt or worse- killed.
However, I think at that moment they don't really understand how much danger they are putting themselves in, either that or they are just providing some light relief for each other.
I must highlight the decision to bring this story into the 1950's. Personally, I think that it benefits the story brilliantly because if we had seen the pair when they were just starting to fall in love then I think that there would be too much focus on them and the plot would drift off into the ether.
Admittedly, it means I get to smile at the beauty of the 50's fashion- the little hats that Tuppence wears are adorable and I was very pleased to see women of the time actually wearing trousers.
Television soundtracks don't really get mentioned much but I happen to think they bring so much a story. Tim Philips (composer) has done a brilliant job at capturing the twang and swing of the 50's that fits the adventure like a delicious and compact sandwich.
I have been so engrossed into this series that I have even the novels from my library so i can enjoy more Tommy and Tuppence novels and see their journey unfold. 
Such a unique mystery/adventure series with lots of cracking characters, blissful settings and costumes.
The writing and direction has encompassed the essence of the era as have David Walliams and Jessica Raine for their characters. I feel another obsession have already brewed.

Ant- Man Review

As the Marvel Universe continues to expand, the fans expect the new releases to tell stories are fresh and dynamic in what they achieve. Well, Ant Man is certainly a triumph in its entertainment and original ideas of species of Ants coming together to save the world.
In the midst of the destruction of the world, Marvel continues to bring new humour to its audiences and specifically in this film I felt like a lot of that came from the camaraderie between Scott Lang and his friends and the notion of a gigantic Thomas the Tank Engine bursting through the roof of a house.
These qualities that exist in this film alone is enough to engage any audience member and showcase Ant Man's powers in a way that no longer seems stupid.
Especially  in the scenes where you see the team work that pulls Scott and the Ants together to save the world and his daughter.
As the film begins in 1989, there was one character whose name I will not mention who absolutely made me squeal with joy at seeing them at this specific period in their life as it is something of a rarity to see a Marvel hero all at different moments in their existence.
There was such warmth and compassion from Hank Pym and Scott Lang as they both shared a need to be the hero that their daughters always wanted them to be.
This felt like a very poignant and embracing motivation for a superhero to lead as usually it becomes about them saving the world rather than doing what's right for one specific person.
Furthermore, the effects were incredibly diverse and dynamic in how they were shot because I felt like we really got to be a part of Ant Man's world when he has to shrink himself.
The angles brought so much depth and precision to Ant- Man's movements when he kept shrinking and reappearing to full size.
Thus, the connections to the Avengers and the appearance of Falcon brought some great chemistry and action between him and Ant- Man because of the Falcon seeming to appear annoyed at Ant- Man's powers with a little bit of jealously and determination to impress Captain America.
Therefore, there is some clever comedy, great direction, a well constructed story, nods to other heroes, an inspiring father and some really cool kick ass moments with the help of a lot of cute little ants.

Agents of Shield S.O.S Part 2 review

As the story flows from a raging war between Shield and the inhumans to thousands of people who will soon become one of the enhanced power people, due to the terrigan crystals becoming a part of fish oils tablets, season two's finale has certainly revealed some huge character developments; Skye's relationship with her father has definitely been one of the most evolving but touching in an odd way. 
As Cal describes it to himself- his love for his family had sent him mad as well as Juinang whose motives for starting the war, were in her eyes justified because for some twisted reason she thinks that Shield want to cause harm to her people even though it was Hydra who had experimented on her and attacked her people.
In hindsight, I have found her to be a far more interesting and complex character in terms of her reasons and motivations for her actions then Ward ever brought. His complexity has only been one of manipulation and blame.
Chunks of the fight scenes were incredibly enthralling to watch as the camera slowed down the punches and flips to really make every move of the characters count almost like a dance even.
Linking to this, Skye has evolved into such a compassionate and brave agent and inhuman who has been so fascinating to watch her grow and deal with her parents and put the protection of strangers first all culminating into her having to even try and terminate her own mother.
Every character has been given a thread that has been resolved into a nice little ribbon that has finally been knotted tightly together ready to be pulled a part.
Just as I was cheering for Simmons and Fitz to go to dinner, she gets sucked into the Kree Stone. What a heart tearing moment when your favourite character gets pulled into this unknown alien artefact, gone without a scuffle.
May is finally starting to realise that Shield isn't her life and that she needs to explore it which I think will be good for her because then maybe she can bring a new perspective on why she is a part of Shield in the first place.
The build up of where the this team has come to and how the battle with the inhumans has led them into a new direction is something I am very much jumping up and down for. 

Agents of Shield S2 E21 review

Heading on from last week's increasingly epic finale tale this episode swept past with so many thrills and extremely interesting moments of character development that I felt like I couldn't hold on tight enough.
Specifically, as of late I hadn't really connected with Bobbi's character as I never felt like she was integral to the story or brought much to the team.
But I thought the scene where she handled agent 33 and Ward was so brave and honest that I was rooting for this particular agent.
Then came the brief fight between Skye and May which I think highlighted how the ever increasing battle has pushed these characters into fighting each other because of the manipulation that Juinang has upon everyone to get what she wants.
Moving on, I did feel like Ward has become a bit of a loose thread for the finale story this season just because I didn't feel like there was any reason for him to be there.
His reason for torturing Bobbi seemed a little bland- he wants her to apologize to Agent 33 for what happened her. She made the right choice and I think that Ward doesn't really know what to do with himself now. What has his life become? Who knows but I hope he gets a better role in the third season if he is involved.
Finally, Skye has seen who her mother really is- a part of me felt for Skye, she has spent so long searching for parents and they both end up being insane maniacs who will kill anyone to get what they want and will use any means to justify their actions even Skye herself.
Cal's transformation was very funny and scary as his mad words and galloping lit the action scenes a little more.
I have to give credit for Juinang's plan though as it is really well thought out and the thread has been weaved together and crafted so well that my eyes keep bulging out of my face with shock.

Agents of Shield Review

It's coming to the end now. This mightiness of a show that has grown and molded itself into quite an program that instead of focusing on the superheroes of the stories they focus on the people that stop them. We get to see how their lives are affected by saving the world and what the consequences can have for the world and their fellow team members.
As the team readied themselves to infiltrate Hydra to save Lincoln and Deathlok, my mind became a bit muddled as to how the season finale would wrap everything that is happening with integrity and some awesome action sequences with a dollop of heart and character.
The atmosphere surrounding the team's reunion felt very prominent to everything that has led up to this point because you saw the scars and betrayal behind everyone's eyes.
It highlighted the journey that the team has been on and how one members action can affect everyone else's beliefs on who to trust and who's side they are really on.
Specifically, I was not expecting Simmons to be the one who would take her revenge on Ward so hurriedly and openly.
I thought she would be the one to stop everyone from trying to blow Ward's head off even though she feels exactly the same as them.
I'm guessing that his betrayal was too much for her and the impact that Fitz's brain damage must have had on her two must have influenced her actions hugely.
More so, I've been hearing that there is definitely more to Skye's Mum then has been revealed as I can see how she ever so slightly likes to take control of everyone especially Rayna, now that she knows that her powers can tell the future.
This gives her the upper hand and gives her exactly what she's wanted- to be able to control and manipulate the events of the future for her own advantage. No doubt it is to do with her own mischievous plans.
Ever more, there was a very clear justification for why May was very clearly angry at Coulson for meeting up with her ex-husband without telling her.
It's clear that Coulson's trust means a lot more to her than she lets on and without you can't be much of a team player.
This episode displayed a very intriguing cliffhanger with regards to the sceptre and it's purpose/origins. Could it be something to do with the Avenger's perhaps? Mmmmmmmm.........

Agents of Shield Review

Concluding from last episode, I found that the pacing differed slightly because the adventure that Skye had with her father seemed to be a little slow and I didn't really understand why Skye was so insistent when it came to getting her Dad away from her mother.
I thought she would know that her Mum could just follow her and not realize that she might try and contact Shield.
My heart wrenched when Skye and Coulson locked eyes and were so close to becoming a team again and then Gordon cruelly zapped her and Cal away again. 
The relationship between Coulson and Ward was really strange because I feel like Ward still cares for Coulson in some way but then wouldn't hesitate to put a bullet through him. It's the same with Coulson; there is some respect for each other I think as Ward would like to be the man that Coulson is and therefore Coulson pities Ward for his terrible upbringing.
Additionally, I was outraged that May ended up telling the real Mac and Bonnie about Simmons duplicating the boxes; Simmons trusted her and I felt like May should have stuck with that and kept her loyalty to the team.
Cal has become a bit of a wayward fit into the fold as his undecided fate seems to bring a haze and uncertainty to where he even fits in the story anymore.
The fight scenes with Lincoln and Deathlok consumed the action into thrust punches, sizzling electrical fizzles and powerful fisty cuffs that brought some heart pounding moments especially as Lincoln nearly fried Deathlok's body.
I don't know where the story is heading which is a compliment that I am freely throwing out there.
Whatever happens I will gladly be there for the ride!

Agents of Shield Review

As a starting point, I very much enjoyed the flashbacks that we saw of how May became the person she now is. 
How she came to be this very blank, stern and almost emotionless character renders itself to seem acceptable now as she believes that she doesn't deserve to feel anything other than that she thinks that all she can focus on is the mission and kicking the bad guys butts.
Connecting with this, we were opened up into a little bit of Skye's past as well as she explained to her ageless mother that she never felt like she belonged anywhere.
To which her mother then admits to who she really is and may I point out that the scene where Skye causes an avalanche and creates a song by manipulating the water were two of the most unique and memorable that I have seen of the show.
I've been finding it hard to connect with Raina's character as I don't feel like she fits into the current stories and am not particularly interested in where she progresses from here.
However, I was incredibly in awe of the prosthetic make up that was created for her new transformation.
I'm really loving that Simmons and Fitz are on their own mini missions to in a way reunite the team back together as I feel like their place on the team hasn't really been as included as I think they could have been.
Skye's mother is a very engaging character that I find to be somewhat of two people as she seems like a really compassionate and caring person but then I've seen glimpses of a more ruthless side an example being that when Cal asked to see Skye after being left in a room for who knows how long, she very calmly replied, 'No'.
It is just the way that she says it is a bit of a defining maliciousness that sent shivers down my spine as she held such gravitas in that one word.
The stories are flying by with some unique surprises and mysteries to yet to be told. I hope we see more of Skye's new found powers and she is reunited with her Shield family some time soon.

Agents of Shield Review

The latest installment of Agents of Shield was filled with mystery and unknown motives relating to the superior beings that Skye has become.
The known thought is that Skye's mother which has somehow not aged at all and from what I thought was dead but then Coulson died and then was brought back to life so I can believe it.
I found Skye's curiosity over her powers and what she can achieve with them was very enlightening to watch as she came to see a different perspective on their purpose. 
More importantly, the team managed to remain somewhat in spirit when Fitz revealed that Simmons had been secretly working with him to swap the mini black boxes.
This viewer was very relieved to know that when there friendship was at the forefront of keeping whatever is the purpose of the box a secret.
Gordon seemed to be a split of a healing hand to a out of control being that feels very strongly against the actions of Skye's father who feels like he is becoming a bit of a loose thread.
Not to say that he hasn't been an strong asset when bringing the action and drama to his quest to finding his daughter, but I think now he seems wasted just being left in that room not doing much other then covering his hands with his blood.
Another big question to entail this episode; Will May decide to join the Shield panel or will she run off into the night to search for Coulson and Skye. I do so hope that she will choose the second.
There were some endearing moments where Skye was hovering in the air, Coulson's determination was a needed element which then slotted nicely with Simmons and Fitz taking their responsibility for the mysterious box to a sneaky conclusion.

Agents of Shield Civil War Review

The one aspect of this episode is its success in being able to link Shield's story in that it isn't the 'real' Shield with Skye's although I don't believe that there is such an organisation that can be deemed the 'real' Shield.
Coulson is as much a strong leader then the man who appears to be running the actual organisation. All of the team members have worked tirelessly to save the lives of people and superheroes alike.
Whether or not Coulson has something alien inside of him, he has still led his team to protect the lives of innocent people and keep them safe.
Both teams should be working together so that they can be stronger and diverse when fighting against Hydra and other unknown forces yet to come.
Additionally, when it came to Skye I thought the glimpses of her powers gradually seeping through was a very effective approach to allowing us and the character to try and figure out what kind of being she is going to become and how she can utilize her powers for some means- she can manipulate water, air and the earth.
I hope next we will be seeing some fire action where fireballs will light up the skies and Skye will have to find a way to mould her powers to her own authority.
Swaying away from Shield and Skye arcs, I was very impressed with the writers for allowing Simmons character to show less scientific and a more sneaky side when it came to harboring Bobby. 
Genuinely, I was not expecting this at all, not because I don't believe that there are any different sides to her character but just because she was so believable in pretending that she didn't know that Bobby was behind the blackout. Go Simmons!
It's very intriguing to know that there are these open wounds when it comes to discovering who Coulson has actually been working for and whether the 'other' shield has some ulterior motive.
Civil War has been very interesting in its story arcs, fast pace, stunning special effects and cleverly constructed timelines.

Marvels Agents of Shield episodes 12 and 13 review

The continuation of Skye's discovery and terror of her new mysterious powers has kept me dubiously stuck to keeping the eight o'clock slot of my Friday night free.
I even have to tell my Mum to keep quiet when it's on, she just doesn't understand that I have to have absolute silence to follow the story in detail.
In addition, this week I couldn't help but laugh when Mai's husband came on board and Fitz said that there's one who listens and the other never speaks. That was a precise summation of their relationship I think and it gave us to see an actual human response from Mai in the form of laughter.
Not only that but the depiction of Simmons struggle at Fitz's betrayal was a valid touch to the story that is so heavily Skye orientated.
I find Mac's character a bit boring in that he doesn't seem to bring much energy and I don't feel anything for his character. Also, his reveal that he's working for the real shield felt really fake in terms of how the actor executed his dialogue. I felt like there was no feeling from him and that he was literally saying the words because he had too.
However, I have enjoyed his relationship with Fitz and Simmons as he seems to really care about them and the work that they do. 
Skye's father is a bit strange and I felt he wasn't really needed because he felt really small in terms of the damage he could do whereas the people he recruited to take down shield were far more terrifying than him, I mean that man who killed all those cheerleaders just by roaring was just scary.
I felt like Coulson has taken a back sit in these episodes and that he's lost some of his authority because so many other members have their own agendas. 
Hopefully, he'll be brought back into it a bit more once the team come back together.

Marvel's agents of Shield season 2 aftershocks review

Well after that excruciating mid season break I was utterly delighted that Shield was back. It was filled with many goose bumpy moments including Skye's strange powers being subtly glimpsed and Raina's new look was really quite disturbing- I see a mix between a cactus and a tiger! 
I'm not quite sure how Skye's father fitted into the story as he was only in the episode for a few minutes and I think it would have been better if he was reintroduced as an unexpected guest when Skye is just about to transcend into whatever being she is going to become.
Therefore, I 'm hoping that it's original and something unique because I don't think all this anticipation can be simmered through with just a being that doesn't really live up to the viewers imaginations.
However, I thought the trap that Coulson set up for the Hydra agent was very impressive as I got a jolt of shock and actually thought that Mai and Coulson were dead which kept me engaged and connected to the characters.
The most memorable scene for me was when Fitz told Skye that she was the cause of everything and she's changing was very heartbreaking because I felt entranced to Fitz's character as he genuinely looked like he was scared of Skye but pitied her at the same time.
This gave their friendship time to grow and move down a new avenue which I don't think I have seen between them before.
More so, the pace was very well structured as I felt like the sequence of the story didn't drag or disconnect from each other at any point which made me want to give the show a warm hug. Welcome back Shield!

Big Hero 6 Review

Disney's latest accomplishment brings a warm glow and sheer beauty to its story that even the most non-crying people are bound to feel their eyes become wet. The story is set in a city between Tokyo and San Francisco style of trams and the red illuminated alleys from the takeaway names.
The creativity is bursting with sharp colours and detail which blend beautifully with the rocky twang of the music that allowed me to imagine with delight the atmosphere surrounding this imaginary city. 
Hiro is the fourteen year old with a zest for robots and technology, obsessed with entering his creations into fighting competitions. 
His brother -Tadashi whisks him away from a big brute of a guy and here was the moment I fell in love with this character. He reminded me of my sister; caring, warm, gentle, compassionate and the unconditional love, respect and admiration for his brother. An example being that he helps Hiro to create an idea that will ensure he gets offered a place into Tadashi's college. This was clearly a trap to have the audience feel a sinking feeling when he selflessly runs back into his college (which is on fire) to save his Professor but doesn't make it out. 
Hiro's friend make for some hilarious comedy with their quirky personalities clearly well constructed.
Additionally, the concluding twist where the Professor used Hiro's microbots to escape from the fire was a very unexpected surprise as the motivation for Krey (who was openly interested in stealing Hiro's idea) was more of an exaggeration to keep the audience fooled.
A lovely, heartwarming, imaginative, quirky, delightful and inspiring film about family and how amazingly selfless and kind people can be. Hiro and Tadashi- I salute you!

Agents of Shield season 2 episode 10 review

The mid-season finale has arrived and the majesties of the origins of obelisk and the hidden city.
So Skye finally meets her Dad; it shifts between her pointing out his hideous crimes, a hidden agenda to let him know that they could never have any sort of relationship yet when he sings a song that she heard when she was younger brings maternal emotions that bleed from her. This is a great contrast in emotion and history between the two the best part of this scene is Skye's discovery of it all.
As the team's lives are in danger with the walls shaking violently around them I was fascinated with the camera work that produced the stunning reveal of Raina and Skye being turned to stone and then becoming these new beings although I don't think the transformation had actually happened yet.
As a fan I couldn't really ask for a more exciting, vibrant, explosive, stomach churning episode drama and action!

Doctor Who Last Christmas review

Hello all, I hope you all had a jolly good christmas!
With christmas there comes food prefably high in sugar based, presents, lights, music, games and Doctor Who!
Last Christmas was an astounding piece of festive storytelling but the core structure could have been an episode that features in the series.
The complexity and sophisticated interlocking of the dreams upon dreams was an intelligent and immensely compelling notion from Steven Moffet with the frustrating incapability of decifering between what is real or not was a fantastic ingredient that made this episode one of the strongest and most enjoyable to make me watch the episode three times already since Christmas day! 
I couldn't fathom whether Santa was real only in the dream world but then I remembered the doctor showing a picture of him and Santa to Kazran in a Christmas Carol.
The dream scene with Clara and Danny was very sweet, warm and magical like dreams should be but then as the camera cuts back to the dream crabs crumbling from their victims faces, I was very impressed with the balance of melting warmth to the cold terror of the menacing beasts.
For once there is an actual happy and jolly ending with the doctor realising he's been given a second chance; he certainly grabs it with both hands.
Clara's alive and back in the TARDIS; one fatality with the rest filled with memories of Santa and a good old tangerine.... Next stop the magician's apprentice!

Agents of Shield season 2 episode 9 review

As a culmination of the team's search for the mysterious city prevails in this episode; I couldn't help but feel like this season is certainly more sci-fi. The unknown origin of the city with its intrinsic markings and the possession of Mac with his red eyes and super strength brought the apprehension and uncertainty to a climax as the rarity of a hidden force being one of compassion and pacifism just doesn't thrill us geeks.
I held my breath as Simmons nearly fell into the entrance to the city and her emotional expression of her best friend no longer being able to be the scientist he once was only added to my admiration for this sweet and noble agent.
And so it is that Skye is now in the hands of Hydra with Ward's obsession with introducing her to her father continues to be his main priority, with some quick dashes to murder his brother quite horrifically.
Coulson continues to warm my heart as he explains that the people around him is why he continues to fight and save the world- good for him. I wish I was as brave as this hero.

Agents of Shield season 2 episode 8 review

Dun, dun, dun, dunnnnnn......
I've been overwhelmed by revelations this week and well, every other week but this episode in particular gave Skye's character so much unnerving perspective as her Dad informs Coulson that Skye isn't even her real name which makes me wonder whether Skye herself doesn't even have any idea of who she really is. That for me makes the whole series even more exciting and thrilling.
As the team delve into Daniel Whitehall's past they discover that somehow he has managed to keep himself looking youthful even though he is an old man.
I think we may have seen Skye's mother for the first time; savagely covered in her own blood due to Whitehall's experiments. There are so many questions being raised it's almost too much.
Nah, I love that we get to see more and more about the character's history and find things out about them that even they don't know. So Skye's father is out for revenge on Mr. Whitehall but then why is he so angry at Shield; he says they took his daughter from them but she kind of stumbled upon them and Coulson recruited for because she had great computer hacking skills. Clearly, there's something not right with this guy.
Now I cannot forget the beast that is Ward; I knew when he put his arm round his brother and smiled, that something brutal was going to happen.
Subtly, towards the end we are told that Ward has killed his brother for supposedly putting disturbing thoughts into his head but I think that was probably down to thier parents who tortured them. 
Another fragmented and dark layer that has been let loose amongst the search for this city that holds some great power.
Something is building, and whatever it is it looks to be monumentous in scale! Take cover team, you're going to need it!

Agents of Shield episode 7 Review

Firstly, as the continuation of the mysterious alien carvings leds to an intense revelation, the sub story of the team following Ward around on various buses felt to be pushed aside but I presume that the two stories are connected in some way. 
I've been trying to pinpoint Ward's obsession with Skye and what he hopes to achieve by terrifying her. I don't think just killing her is his style. He's such an unpredictable character that makes him a very powerful element to the story. 
I think the team could have been a bit more conspicous when they are trailing after Ward. I just don't think a cap, a cowboy hat and a book that isn't actually read is going to fool him. Clearly, it didn't- he was wearing a bomb.
The visual effect alongside the direction of the scene where Coulson finds himself back inside the memory machine was really atmospheric and electrifying.
Finally, we discover what these carvings mean- it's a city! An alien city? A another universe city? A city filled with other superheroes or villians? I can keep speculating but that's the beauty of this show, it literally could be anything.

Agents of Shields Season 2 Episode 6 Review

Events are taking an even more dangerous turn for the Shield team as the UN meeting is disrupted by a group of military monkeys who don't blink twice as they start massacaring the entire conference.
As soon as the team about this are they on a roll with Mai with her own band of fighters hopping their way to Japan, Coulson interrogates Ward's brother- Christian who happens to be the senator wants Ward to be transferred to him.
This is one of Coulson's very bad decisions as Ward makes his escape with just a pair of handcuffs and a few soldiers between him and the world. I would have thought that Coulson would have increased the amount of security as he knows how skilled Ward is.
I really enjoyed the conflict between Fitz and Simmons as this hardly ever happens with these two. I can understand why Simmons finds it difficult to be around Fitz because she knows that she makes him worse. I hope these buddies can start to make their way back to where they were at the beginning of the first season. I know their relationship will never be as it was before but I'm hoping it can resemble some of the good times.
It was very exciting which of the Ward brothers to believe, to be honest I think they are lying about each other because after the stories they have told how could you trust any of them?
Whatever will Ward do next????????? 

Agents of Shield season 2 A Hen in the Wolf House Review

Another week, another tremendous episode for the Shield team. A wedding reception is duly interrupted by the guests being poisoned which turns their mouths to what looks like stone. It was a bit of a mystery why this introduced at the beginning of the story but then never resolved later on. Hopefully, the writers are saving it for next week. 
As the main objective for the characters in this episode is to retrieve the Obelisk from the hands of Skye's father didn't latch too far on holding its priority as the justification for Skye's father to be induced into the facilities of the team.
What it did achieve was forming a reason for he and Shield to collide, which in this instance, doesn't happen at all. In fact, Skye's father almost tiptoes around them, watching them through on an Ipad in his car through a CCTV camera. I wander if all he wants is to see Skye again why not just openly step forward and get to know her? Ha, because he knows that Shield knows that he's up to some plan forming that outwardly will be catatrosphic for the whole planet. And is he even her real father, what real proof do we or the characters have?
At least we have the reassurance that Simmons is safe and back with the team. Her reunion with Fitz felt irregular and abnormal because we familiarise with the pair constantly theorising and communicating with each other in a comfortable and telling form, but this scene brought lots of emotions still felt from the last season that hefted an awkward silence and stunted unawareness of where to go, perfectly where those characters needed to be brought.

Intriguingly, the symphonious declaration that Coulson believes Skye could be an alien was calming in its execution and let slip a quick comedic taste for the story to dip into.
More importantly, I have a theory- if Skye is indeed an alien, was it the result of the alien DNA that was injected into her, or has she always been an alien but has subconsciously diguised her true form? Mmmmm.... (scratches head, raise eyebrow.... forgets about writing this review...... and drifts.....away).

Agents of Shield episode 4 Review

Whoah! An undercover themed story, I love those, and with Mai desperately trying to hold up a smile whilst mingling was a comforting hilarity.
A snapshot of the team securing their way into an insanely huge mansion demonstrated the team's intelligence and brings you right into the skeleton of the story.
I was grateful that the writers decided to layer the foundations surrounding Coulson and Mai's complicated relationship that in some aspects appears to be a friendship filled with respect and trust that doesn't need to be steeped in a romantic sense. Although they do dance well together but could hide their communication with the rest of the team more subtly.
Hydra in an opposing enemy to Shield continues to grow ever stronger as their motivations are gently manisfesting themselves into retrieving powerful objects that can cause catatrophic harm to others. They have a serious obsession with controlling people to do the work for them. 
Oh yes, now the action scenes between Mai and... well Mai were spectacular. With quick, energy fuelled, sharp swipes that could be felt through the screen had me filled with my own adrenaline.
My admiration for Fitz continues with his wonderful saving the team once more with his knowledge of mechanical engineering. I felt a connection with his struggle of socialising with the team as I myself continue to find my social skills are somewhat weak in communication. 
Finally, the ever expanding mystery surrounding the unknown carvings that Coulson had found to be etched on the back of a five hundred year old painting that the team set out to retrieve, sets a fascination with within the alien language that he and Mai try to analyse its meanings.
What could this mean for the team when Mai acts out her promise to kill Coulson to stop the power that he holds within? Is there a connection with hydra and these carvings that have featured so predominately? This is what this series achieves so fluidly, these are constant questions for the audience to ask; which is all that matters.

Doctor Who Death in Heaven Review

Crying, that's what I'm doing right now.
Well, where to start, OK logically I will start with the return of UNIT; the marvellous Kate Stewart wades her way through this army of cybermen as if they were flies and Osgood, well she is utterly brilliant- quoting the eleventh's 'Bow ties are cool' shows she becomes as obsessed with the doctor's outfits as the we fans do!
Slightly less timid and more confident in her position with the historic organisation, happily playing with her position by sweetly offering to take a picture of The doctor and Missy, then 'Wham'! out scatters UNIT with it's force and power wading through the two time lords with strategy and justification.
So many fabulous reminders of the past; the 60's cyber head, portrait of the Brigadier, the doctor saluting the cyber Brigadier after he so galliantly shooting for master as he never got to do back in the old days.
Missy just ramped up her 'bananas' behaviour to a madness that is so weirdly stunning in her brutality and positive attitude towards the devastation she creates around her, she KILLS OSGOOD! Pulverised in a blink of an eye! O dear lord how my heart sank..
I was quite stunned when the doctor asked her why she came back and she replied that she wanted her friend and to remind the doctor that they are the same. I saw a slight vulnerability and loneliness to her that I think should definitely be developed because the master can't really be dead; she's a time lord like the doctor and the doctor has escaped death so many times it's hard to count!
Once I saw those cybermen clawing there silver fingered way out of those graves I actually felt really terrified of these foes since they returned in Rise of the Cybermen. The fact that they are don't communicate much throughout the story is quite a big factor of my fear of them. Silent killers are always the most horrifying.
Now I have reached the point where I have to mourn for Danny Pink; a character I have grown to really adore has been converted into a cyberman, has to listen to Clara talking about how she will always put the doctor first and then having to ask her to take his humanity away from him was moving in the most gut wrenching way possible. When she points the sonic screwdriver towards him, I was hit with an eruption of sadness for both of them.
Thank god someone survived; Kate Stewart- the endearing leader of the future protection of Earth.
A lip trembling ending for the doctor and Clara; she lies about Danny being alive and the doctor says that he's found Gallifrey- that pesky Missy cannot help herself but wind the doctor up.
I wanted to reach out for Clara when she walked off by herself and the doctor lied for a selfless reason this time- to make it easier for Clara to distance herself away from him. Thankfully though, she's coming back for Christmas!
A compelling,  weird, shocking, heartwarming, disturbing and an epic conclusion to the twelfth's doctor first season! 
(Now all I have to do is wait for the boxset and travel with him and Clara all over again!)

Agents of Shield Episode 3 Review

Hello all,

I think this episode should have suitably been called Simmons Mission which was certainly my favourite of the series so far; it was Simmons galore!
Underestimating Simmons, I was surprised to see that she was working undercover for Hydra and she hadn't left Fitz for no reason- hoorah!
The menacing brainwashing that Hydra undertakes is I'm guessing to form an army of some kind which I think if you about it is a weak way in which to build alliances.
There were some big character developments for Skye as she killed Donny (engineer who can freeze people) in a swift and militant boldness that did make me sit back and think she can really be capable of some very dangerous actions.
Not only that, but Fitz demonstrating what it's like to Ward to be brain damaged by deducing the amount of oxygen in his little containment was so quite exilarating and harrowing to watch.
I loved the sequence where we got to see the routine that Simmons has been going through for a good long while.
She is so sweet and adorable that I could listen to her talk about science for an eternity and finally Coulson decided to tell Fitz that Simmons felt for an assignment not because she didn't care.
His face brought so much hope and relief to his character that I wept inside for him. I cannot wait for their reunion.
Mai brings loads of eye pinching humour and wit that shifts between the many secrets that continue to come spilling out of this team every episode. 
There are so many layers and complexity to the team's motives that makes the stories so masterful and complelling to invest myself in for an hour.
Thrilling, shocking, moving and adrenaline fuelled- my favourite of the series so far!!

Doctor Who Dark Water Review

Wha, wha, what just happened? Missy is the master!!!!!!! One of the doctor's resilient enemies has found her way back into the doctor's life. And has changed gender, never before has a time lord proved that the result of their regeneration could literally be anything. It was spectacular to see an incarnation of one of my favourite villians in such a stark contrast to their predessors- it literally blew my mind. 
Michelle Gomez brings so much snappy and playfulness to her performance that I felt the master was actually enjoying being a female and wanted to bath in the doctor's helpless and blind sighted vision.
So as the beginning of episodes go, my heart was abruptly ripped out of my chest as Danny was tragically killed in a traffic accident. This felt very far from the Who universe as a central character was taken from the audience in such ordinary circumstances.
A very heroic and selfless act for Danny was when he kept telling Clara he loved her to make her believe that he wasn't himself so that in turn she would get to live. That moment was for me the core of who his character is. I hope in some form in does survive.
A very disturbing explanation about what happens to you when you die felt very hideous when it was stripped down and emphasised through those three words. That the dead are still conscious as their previous bodies are horridly undertaken under the knife or thrown into a torrent of flames is mind numblingly terrifying.
However, the complex thought and decision that has been compiled together is astounding and enormously thought provoking and grips the eyes to the screen as if they were magnets. 
Clara is pulled through into a mess of emotions that sees her betraying the doctor by thinking she can persuade the doctor to bring Danny back if she throws all of his TARDIS keys into an ocean of lava was groundbreaking concerning their relationship. But, oh it's only a dream which the doctor conducted to see how far Clara would take the situation. I think this could have influenced the doctor to decide to help Clara bring Danny back and is in a moment a glimpse into Capaldi's doctor showing a slice of compassion towards his friend.
The applauling realisation that these cybermen are in fact people who have died is a dreadful thing to have to comprehend.
Now this episode is very dark but not without some cracking humour filled scenes; Missy kissing the doctor, the doctor oblivious to the cyber eye symbols on the sliding doors and his need for Clara to show some attitude and scepticism.
Something really cool was the x-ray water where only organic matter can be seen in the water which is why we could only see the skeletons and not the outer metal shell of the cybermen.
I have so many questions; why has Missy decided to team up with the cybermen? How did she escape from Gallifrey? Why did she regenerate?
In addition, I have a theory- after all the defeats and the victories against the master, why has Missy decided to come back and try to conquer Earth? Is it because once the Earth is gone she thinks that the doctor will stay with her? Does she have some kind of bond or feelings towards the doctor that maybe she wants to try and acknowledge? She has had so many opportunities to kill him and has always decided against it? Why? I need to know!
