Edward Norton Not In Iron Man II?

A little while back I posted the rumour that Edward Norton (Bruce Banner in the most recent Incredible Hulk movie) was set to have a cameo in Iron Man II, due out next year.

It was purely speculative and primarily based on the IMDB page for IM II showing him with the rest of the cast.

Whilst in Toronto attending the International Film Festival, MTV News tracked down Norton who addressed the rumors.

"I heard that. I don't know where that's coming from. I am not in 'Iron Man 2' to my knowledge."

Even though there's still no word on where Marvel plans to go next with the Hulk franchise — or if Norton will return for any future Marvel films — it looks like they haven't approached the actor to reprise his role as Bruce Banner... yet!

Our New Gaming Blog GEEK-GAMER Is Now Up!

This has been a long time coming for me, but I wanted to post all gaming news, previews and reviews into a separate blog which will purely cater for that theme.

I always have these big plans to post up massive reviews of games I've played (like the awesome Batman: Arkham Asylum which I completed in two sittings of 8 hours and 4 hours a couple of weekends ago) but I never get the time... Now that I've created the new blog I'm hoping it'll focus me a bit more on doing these reviews, posting news on upcoming games (Left 4 Dead II and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II baby!) and any other misc stuff about games and consoles that I think will be worth posting.

The big catch is that I'd like all you readers of Kryptonian Warrior out there, that are gaming geeks like the rest of the League, to join in and post too. I've given an open invitation to readers and bloggers to join this site in the past but there's been minimal interest. If you have a game you've recently played, or some news you've found online about a game you're excited about, then please send me an e-mail at kryptonianwarrior@ymail.com and it'll go up straight away.

You don't have to be a member, you don't have to continually post, just a little bit of participation is all I ask.

www.geek-gamer.blogspot.com is a basic little blog but I'm hoping to make it a bit snazzier down the line and make it a worthy sister site to this one.

Bye bye for now!

Springfirled Punx Rocks!

This is some pretty old news and I'm sure one or two of you have come across this site (or at least the artwork from this site) before. But I thought I'd post it up anyway as it's frickin awesome for Simpsons fans (like me).

Back in 2007 when The Simpsons movie hit theaters, Burger King launched a promotion called “Simpsonize Me,” where you could turn a photo of yourself into a Matt Groening-style cartoon. But since then, a highly talented artist "Dean Fraser" has been the only one still going hard, Simpsonizing a wide variety of pop culture icons for a little project that he’s called the “Springfield Punx“.

I urge you to visit his site to see the huge array of characters he's completed. I was on there for ages looking at all the cool superheroes, t.v. and movie characters and I love them! You can visit his blog HERE but you can take a look at the pic below for a multi-character pic that's well worth having as your background wallpaper and will give you an idea as to what you'll find on Dean's blog site... Enjoy!

Dirty Dancing Star Patrick Swayze Dies Aged 57...

Terrible news in the entertainment world today. Dirty Dancing legend Patrick Swayze has finally lost his battle against Pancreatic Cancer aged 57 after being diagnosed last year.

"Patrick Swayze passed away peacefully today with family at his side after facing the challenge of his illness for the last 20 months," his publicist said.

A host of Hollywood stars paid tribute to Swayze, including his Dirty Dancing co-star, Jennifer Grey.

She said, "He was fearless and insisted on always doing his own stunts, so it was not surprising to me that the war he waged on his cancer was so courageous and dignified."

The film's choreographer, Kenny Ortega, said, "Patrick was a great human being who I knew as a loving son, husband, brother and friend. He was one of the most creative, enjoyable and alive people I knew. He did as much for dancing as any man of our generation.

Demi Moore, who he starred with in Ghost, posted on her Twitter page, "Patrick, you are loved by so many and you light will forever shine in all of our lives."

Swayze continued to work right up to his death, and was last seen on screen in the US TV show The Beast.

Rest in peace Patrick...

Julian Sands To Play Younger Jor-EL in Smallville Season 9

Yep, that's right boys and girls, Jor-El will indeed be in Smallville season 9 and he'll be played by Julian Sands (Warlock, Warlock Armageddon, 24, Ghost Whisperer, Stargate SG-1 etc etc).

Sources exclusively confirmed to EW.com's Mike Ausiello that Smallville has cast Julian Sands to play a young Jor-El. He’ll make his debut in the November episode “Kandor” when it’s revealed that he arrived with Zod and the other Kandorians.

Save for a brief appearance as a vision in season 3, Jor-El has been heard but never seen on Smallville (Terrence Stamp does the voice over honors). As of now, Sands is locked in for one episode.

Smallville’s ninth season kicks off Friday, Sept. 25 at 8 pm.

Twilight: New Moon - Newest Trailer

As you know I'm a little "meh" about Twilight... OK so it's more like "get that stinking movie away from me before I hurt you"... But hey, here's a new trailer for those of you that feel less violent towards it all!

Surrogates - Second Trailer

At the end of this month Surrogates finally gets released. It's a movie I've been looking forward to ever since it was first announced and it looks pretty damn cool.

This second trailer expands on the first I posted a while back showing a world where people don't venture into the big wide world anymore, they stay in the comfort of their houses and live their lives through "Surrogates", android bodies controlled through wireless interfaces. When users start dying when their surrogates are purposefully destroyed Bruce Willis must come to the rescue...

Here's the trailer

Solomon Kane - Movie Trailer

I'd never even heard of this movie before seeing this trailer the other day. But here it is, "Solomon Kane" a movie about a 16th century Puritan, a somber-looking man who wanders the world with no apparent goal other than to vanquish evil in all its forms. His adventures, published mostly in the pulp magazine Weird Tales, often take him from Europe to the jungles of Africa and back.

As you will see in this trailer Solomon Kane resembles movies like Van Helsing, Lord of the rings, V for Vendetta and in the last few seconds video games such as God of War... One to look out for if you're into this sort of thing!

Could Dr.Who Be Meeting Blackadder Soon?

OK so the title to this post is purely fun speculation on the part of UK tabloids recently but award winning comedy writer Richard Curtis will be writing an upcoming episode of Dr.Who for the Beeb. He's doing it purely to "impress his children" who are huge Dr.Who fans!

If you're not familiar with Curtis' work then here's a little background for you:

Richard Curtis was one of the creators and the chief writer for "Blackadder". Later, he and Rowan Atkinson created "Mr. Bean". Curtis followed up that with "The Vicar of Didley".

Collectively, those three are among the most well-known British shows of the past quarter century.

In the mid 90s -- well after he established himself as successful TV writer and producer -- Curtis wrote "Four Weddings and a Funeral". He went on to write "Notting Hill", "Love Actually", the "Bridget Jones" films, "The Girl in the Cafe", and most recently co-wrote the HBO adaption of "No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency".

He also founded the charity Comic Relief for which he and new Dr.Who show runner Stephen Moffat created "Doctor Who and the Curse of the Fatal Death". The 1999 four part special is the funniest parody of Doctor Who ever created.

(Thanks to "Tracy" on Scifiwire for that description!)

Curtis has confirmed that his episode will have the Doctor meeting a "famous historical figure", but do we think he means someone from actual history? Or could it be one of his own created Blackadder incarnations? I think audiences would love the latter option! My only reservation to that idea is that it would be Matt Smith in the episode... How good would it have been for Rowan Atkinson and David Tennant to be with each other on screen playing those characters? Ah, if only!

Pirates Of The Caribbean 4 Confirmed & Spidey 4 Date & Info

Pirates of the Caribbean 4: On Stranger Tides

At the recent D23 Expo (Disney's answer to Comic-Con) Johnny Depp sailed onstage riding a pirate ship at the Anaheim Convention Center to help announce the forthcoming installment of Disney's blockbuster film franchise. He was welcomed with a rousing standing ovation from 5,000 fans.

Depp will reprise his most famous role as Capt. Jack Sparrow in "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides," slated for summer of 2011. It's the fourth in a series (unfortunately!).

Dressed as Sparrow, Depp staggered around the stage and embraced Walt Disney Studios Chairman Dick Cook, who announced the news.

I can't say that I'm looking forward to this new movie, it went downhill for me after the first outing, but Jack Sparrow is definitely Depp's most pivotal movie role and one he can pull off with the greatest of ease. I'm sure it'll make a fortune!

Spider-Man 4

Whilst promoting his role in the upcoming animated movie "Cloudy with a chance of meatballs" cult actor Bruce Campbell told Access Hollywood that not only would Spidey 4 start filming as early as Jan 2010 but that his role (he's been in all 3 Spidey movies as a different character) will not just be a cameo/ short scene, but will be a "major role".

The Internet is already speculating that this could mean Campbell is set for a villain role this time round (Mysterio being the most popular choice) but nothing has been 100% confirmed. It could just be him fuelling some hype for his old pal Sam Raimi...

First Pics Of Seth Rogen's Green Hornet Movie...

Superherohype.com have some images up featuring Seth Rogen, Cameron Diaz and Jay Chou's stunt double dressed as Kato from the set of the new Michael Gondry movie "Green Hornet".

You can view the images HERE and HERE.

Severley
lacking however are the pics of Rogen in his trademark outfit... That's something I'd like to see!

When new pics are up you'll find them posted here.

In other Green Hornet news; Nicholas Cage has dropped out of the main villain role and has made way for Inglorious Basterds' Christoph Waltz. I don't believe I've ever seen this guy in a movie but I've read he's perfect for the part in Green Hornet, so I'll have to wait and see!

Do We Have Our New A-Team?

The news buzzing around the web last week was that the new Joe Carnahan A-Team movie set for release in July 2010 may well have finally found it's four main cast members.

The first to be confirmed a while back was Liam Neeson in the role of Col. John "Hannibal" Smith. We then had Bradley Cooper confirmed as Lt. Templeton Peck (aka "Faceman") a little while later.

Now we have our B.A. Baracus in the form of UFC powerhouse Quinton "Rampage" Jackson and Capt. "Howling Mad" Murdoch being played by Sharlto Copley (recently seen in the lead role of Wikus Van Der Merwe in District 9).

IMDB isn't showing Sharlto yet so it may just be that some paperwork has to be filled in on his end, but he's been confirmed as having been offered the role of Murdock and he'd be crazy to turn a movie like this down. If, and I stress "IF", it's done properly it could be one of the most anticipated and popular 80s revamps ever... I mean who doesn't love The A-Team?!!!

Resident Evil Reboot?

Bloody-disgusting.com reported last week that the studio that's currently working on Resident Evil: Afterlife are already planning a 5th film in the series, and it's going to be a reboot which may or may not write Milla Jovovich out of the main role of Alice.

The quasi-reboot ("Resident Evil: Begins"... Batman anyone?) will go back to focusing on the story of a special military unit who fights a powerful, out-of-control supercomputer and hundreds of scientists who have mutated into flesh-eating creatures after a laboratory accident.

I was watching Extinction the other night and I have to admit that although these films are far from being classics, they are watchable, and no matter how beat up and bloody Miss Jovovich gets, she's always easy on the eyes. The new Afterlife movie is set to feature the hundreds of Alice clones seen at the end of Extinction so it'll be one hell of a job for Milla doing all that filming for multiple versions of herself, but I'm sure it'll be worth it in the end.

I Hate Power Cuts...

It's only when you have a power cut that you truly realise how your modern life revolves around the necessity for mains power.

Tonight we had a power cut for just over an hour and it dropped out halfway through a level on the 360 and about two minutes before I was going to sit down and start blogging on my PC... Sitting in the pitch black (it's getting darker much earlier now) I was reduced to whipping out my Nintendo DS for a few levels of Mario Kart whilst the missus settled the kids into bed (they hate the dark so that wasn't easy!). My retina's are now burnt out from looking at a bright screen in the dark... Oh joy.

The power's back on now and I find that the hour I lost has set me back for the whole evening and I can't find the energy to post too much... Lazy git I know. So I'll try and post a few things on here tonight and then do the rest during the week.

New US T.V. Show Air Dates

Now we're in September most of our favourite shows are coming back, or new shows we're looking forward to will be starting.

Here's a rundown of the US air dates starting this month. UK dates will differ obviously, but if you're anything like me and you can't wait until then you'll probably just pop over to Surfthechannel.com and watch them via the online streaming service they operate.

September 10:
The Vampire Diaries: Intended to cash in on the Twilight craze this show premiers at 7 on the CW.

Supernatural: With an intense season planned that includes a guest appearance by Paris Hilton, Supernatural returns to the CW at 8 for its 5th season.

September 17:
Fringe: Following up on last years strong start, Fringe returns at 8 on Fox with season 2.

September 21:
Heroes: Season 3 of Heroes saw a continued slide in rating though hope returned to the series when writer Bryan Fuller returned. Unfortunately, this was short-lived and the fate of season 4 may seem a little shaky without the guidance of this writer. The new season premiers at 7 on NBC.

Big Bang Theory: While not really sci-fi this comedy is packed with sci-fi references. It enters its third season at 8:30 on CBS.

September 23:
Eastwick: Remember the Witches of Eastwick? This show based on the characters from the movie. Premiers on ABC at 9.

September 24:
Flash Forward: Based on the book by Robert J. Sawyer, Flashforward details what happens when the entire world blacks out for 2 minutes and catches a glimpse 21 years in the future. The series premier is set for 7 on ABC.

September 25:
Smallville: Returning for a surprise 9th season, Smallville has been moved to Fridays at 7 on the CW.

Dollhouse: Following mediocre ratings last season, Fox renewed this promising show for 13 episodes in season 2 that begin airing at 8.

Ghost Whisperer: Entering its fifth season, Ghost Whisperer returns to CBS at 7.

Medium: In a surprise move, Medium will air on CBS (instead of NBC) at 8.

October 2:
Stargate Universe: The next series in the "Stargate" franchise promises to be darker and more dramatic than the previous two when it premiers on Syfy at 8.

October 8:
Wizards of Waverly Place: This family oriented tale that is reminiscent of Sabrina the Teenage Witch returns to Disney at 7.

November 3:
V: This series is a continuation of sorts on V from the 80s. Taking place after the events that have already been aired, the show returns to TV after the long break at 7 on NBC.

A Little More Smallville - Season 9 Pics

Tom Welling has signed on for season 10 of Smallville according to his co-star Allison Mack (Chloe Sullivan).

Whilst promoting her new film "You" with IndieWIRE she said that not only had Tom signed for season 9 but season 10 too and that her character would survive the season 9 finale... There's no confirmation that there will indeed be a season 10 of Smallville, but if there is at least we know that we won't have lost its main star and his primary partner in crime.

And to whet your appetite for season 9 here's a small bunch of new pics, including the all important black Superman (Neo from the Matrix inspired) outfit Clark dons... It's pretty crappy, but we're getting closer to the old red and blues!

Lego Harry Potter - Years 1-4

I've posted about this new Lego Harry Potter game before, but I thought I'd do it again... My daughter was asking me today when it was out, as she's desperate to play another Lego game with me (we've played all the others to death!), so I looked online and came across some more info including a gallery of stills captured from the trailer below. The images can be viewed at theleakycauldron.org which you can view HERE

The game seems to set for release on March 31st 2010 and the news is that the Lego toy range will be re-released at the same time. Guess I'm going to have to find my daughter another game to play with me until then... Marvel Ultimate Alliance II looks like a good two player!

A Few More Pieces Of Cool Geeky Artwork

As always my perusing of the internet brings some random but cool pics to my attention. So here are a few I found this week... Enjoy!

Shatner & Nimoy At Dragoncon = Funny As Hell

I happened across some video footage of William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy at the US convention "Dragoncon" from last weekend and I just had to share it. I was smiling and laughing for the entire length of the vids...

It's pretty long so get yourself comfortable. Even if you're not a Star Trek fan these two together (mostly Shatner) are funny as hell.

Each video follows on directly from the last, just watch them in order.

Amazing Live-Action Halo ODST Trailer

Wow...

I really love it when something like this is produced. Gives a guy like me goosebumps!

Below this video is the the “Captivity” live-action first person POV trailer for the Wolverine game Uncaged and then the original Halo short from Neill Blomkamp (District 9) that got fans crazy about a Halo movie way back when it was on the cards for him and Peter Jackson.

Watch and enjoy.

Teenwolf T.V. Series Coming To MTV

MTV, once known as "Music Television" due its actually playing "music" on "television", is moving forward in the development of a new series based on the 1985 high school lycanthropy comedy Teen Wolf and has ordered a pilot, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

The 1985 film starred Michael J. Fox as a teen basketball player who discovers, along with the other bodily changes associated with adolescence, that he's a werewolf. The movie was co-written by Jeph Loeb, who'd go on to be a writer and producer on shows like Smallville, Lost and Heroes.

In a world dominated by rehashes and remakes, a Teen Wolf series is especially noteworthy in that the "original" was a re-hash of the 1950s creature feature I Was a Teenage Werewolf starring Little House's Michael Landon.

According to MTV exec Liz Gateley, the series will be "...a dramatic thriller with two best friends in the center who provide a great comedy element: They are two very relatable characters on the outer circles of popular cliques."

Sanctuary Season 2, New Stargate SG-1 Movie & SGU News From Amanda Tapping

Amanda Tapping (Sanctuary / Stargate SG1) has confirmed filming has wrapped on the second season of Sanctuary, stating that the new series is “intense” and will include a post-apocalyptic “what if” episode.

Additionally, she states the latest “rumor” is that the third Stargate SG1 movie will begin filming within 3-6 months and that there is talk of her appearing in a future Stargate Universe episode (in addition to her appearance in the pilot).

On Sanctuary season 2:

Well, season one ends on a really intense cliffhanger. Season two picks up where we left off, which is “what the hell happened to Ashley, how do we get her back?” How do we defeat this nasty organization known as “The Cabal.” Everyone is on almost an individual journey but we all have the same goal. But everyone is doing something. Druitt is crazed with the idea of finding Ashley, as is Magnus. Will is going through a different journey and so are Tesla and Bigfoot and Henry, so it’s the fragmented organization desperate for the same goal.

And I think we start off on this incredible vibration at the beginning of season two. The first three episodes are so intense that when we finished filming episode three the whole cast and crew were like “oh my god, we’re exhausted!” And so we gave ourselves and the audience a rest in the fourth episode which is, I think, quite hilarious and wonderful. And then we launch back into the darkside with this episode called “Pavor Nocturnus,” which is this sort of post-apocalyptic “what if?” scenario. You sill will Zimmerman like you’ve never seen him before. And in fact, we’ve really started to see Robin Dunne come on the set as this crazy, beaten haunted Will.

Robin and I talked about it at the end of the season, what this crazy roller coaster season two has been but I think it’s some of our best work from every department. And I love season one. Season one is exactly what a first season is supposed to be. It introduced you to everyone so beautifully, to the Sanctuary, to the characters, to this incredible fantastical world. And now in season two, we know everyone and we know what the relationships are and we get to play in this really amazing playground.

On the Stargate SG1 rumor:

The only thing I know is that there’s a third SG-1 movie that’s been greenlit, as far I know. I don’t know when exactly it’s supposed to start shooting but the latest rumor, and it is a rumor, is late fall/early winter. And definitely, I’d like to be involved with that.

On Stargate Universe:

There was talk of me doing another episode of Stargate: Universe. I don’t know whether we’ll be able to work that out timewise but I’d love to do it!

Sanctuary season 2 is currently in post production.

Heroes Season 4 - Knife Fight Clip

A short but pretty cool clip here of season 4 of Heroes with Peter Petrelli having a speed-fight with Ray Park's carnival knife thrower... Let's hope this season is better than the last! I love Heroes to bits but last season was painful! Heroes returns To US screens on September 21st

Flash Forward Clip

No real need to explain this as it's all handled in the clip. I'll be watching this one for sure...

Sarah Connor Chronicles T.V/ DVD Movie?

In an interview with thetvaddict.com Thomas Dekker (aka John Connor) hinted at the possibility of a direct to DVD movie that would finish off the story left hanging at the end of season 2. You can read his full interview HERE.

Movie News - Rambo V, Bad Boys 3, FF4 & Lobo

Rambo V To Go Sci-fi!

Yes, that's correct, you read that right... Rambo is set to return yet again for his fifth installment and this time there's a sci-fi theme!

This exert has been taken from AICN (Aint it cool news):

Hey folks, Harry here... I'm fascinated by the conversation I had spontaneously just had with Sylvester Stallone. Apparently there are a lot of rumors out there about the next RAMBO, some of which have been floated by the Trades - but the reality is quite a bit different. It does involve Rambo back in the United States. But from what Sly told me, it is structured quite a bit different.

You see, it is set in the Pacific Northwest. Back in the general area where we first were introduced to John. It seems that somewhere in that Area there is a U.S. Military installation that is doing experiments on elite soldiers as part of some sort of program where they're attempting to tap into that SAVAGERY that we have deeply embedded into us. The plan is create brilliantly instinctual killer soldiers that have no qualms about taking life. Sly brought up the ancient Immortals, which were cartoonishly glimpsed in 300. In reality, they were children trained from the time they were infants to kill.

Well as happens with Government Experiments to create the perfect killer - it goes exceptionally well... and then exceptionally badly. And Rambo is brought in with a Black Ops squad ("Like in PREDATOR") to hunt, capture or kill this worse than Rambo killer.

As you should know, it is early on the project. They've whipped up a quicky one-sheet that will be somewhere around the Toronto Film Festival beginning tomorrow. You can see it here!

What has me excited about this story is the idea that Rambo is now the man chasing instead of being chased. The idea of John Rambo tracking a killer in the woods of the Pacific Northwest is just very cool sounding.

You can even listen to a voicemail Sly left Harry Knowles HERE about the production.

Fantastic Four To Be "Re-booted"

While Disney lays down a $4 billion bet on the future of Marvel's superheroes, 20th Century Fox has already begun overhauling one of its big Marvel franchises, "Fantastic Four," to take the property beyond the two films already made.

Akiva Goldsman has been hired to oversee the reboot as producer. Michael Green, the co-exec producer of TV's "Heroes" who co-wrote "Green Lantern," will write the script for the new "Fantastic Four."

Fox wouldn't comment on its plans, but the moves are evidence that Marvel franchises do have enduring lifespans.

The 2005 "Fantastic Four" and 2007 sequel "Rise of the Silver Surfer" were directed by Tim Story and starred Ioan Gruffudd, Jessica Alba, Chris Evans and Michael Chiklis. Since the deals for the reboot are just getting made, it is unclear if any of them will return.

Bad Boys III Coming Soon!

Sony has recently started development on a third installment of the Bad Boys franchise that Michael Bay launched in 1995. The studio has hired newcomer Peter Craig, who wrote Ben Affleck's The Town and is also writing the new live action Cowboy Bebop movie, to write the Bad Boys 3 screenplay. Hopefully the script will reunite director Michael Bay, producer Jerry Bruckheimer and stars Will Smith and Martin Lawrence. At this point, with the project only being in the early stages, none of them have a deal to return just yet. But we can be sure Sony will be going after them and is also readying backups.

The first Bad Boys saw Will Smith and Martin Lawrence as Miami detectives Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett, caught up in cases involving car chases and explosions. The sequel arrived 8 years later, in 2003, and was bigger and better (e.g. more explosions) than before. The first Bad Boys helped launched the careers of both Michael Bay and Will Smith. All parties have expressed a willingness to return if a story can be hammered out, though Sony is going to have to shell out a lot of cash to get all four back.

DC "Lobo" Movie Confirmed

The foul mouthed alien bounty hunter from DC comics is being brought to the silver screen and Snatch, Lock Stock and Sherlock Holmes' Guy Ritchie is set to direct.

Whilst we may find Ritchie a strange choice for a comic movie such as Lobo, you can see where the producers were going... Ritchie is renowned for his very unique filmaking talents with violence, swearing and comedy being strong in all his movies. Perfect for a character such as this.

The only problem that's arisen now is that Warner Bros studios are looking at a US PG13 rating... This will mean no major violence or swearing etc. It's like giving a cowboy a gun and not giving him the bullets. What's the point?

Apparently in the script Lobo is a seven-foot tall, blue-skinned, indestructible and heavily muscled anti-hero who drives a pimped out motorcycle, and lands on Earth in search of four fugitives who are bent on wreaking havoc. Upon arriving on Earth, Lobo teams up with a small town teenaged girl to stop the creatures.

Lobo will be full of visual effects and apparently the film will have a similar tone to director Guy Ritchie’s past films Snatch and Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.

A release date hasn’t been announced.

Disney Buys Marvel!

Week old news now, but whilst I was enjoying myself in Legoland last week with the family I happened to see on the front of a newspaper that Disney had purchased Marvel...

I reacted quite negatively when I read the full story, I don't really know why.

It seems Disney are building on its strategy of delivering quality branded content to people around the world and decided that as Marvel starts to hit the big time again with its blockbuster movies, this would be a good asset to purchase, and a good time to do it.

Disney purchased Marvel for $4 Billion with its last big purchase being Pixar at over $7 Billion a few years ago.

Robert A. Iger, President and Chief Executive Officer of The Walt Disney Company said:

"This transaction combines Marvel's strong global brand and world-renowned library of characters including Iron Man, Spider-Man, X-Men, Captain America, Fantastic Four and Thor with Disney's creative skills, unparalleled global portfolio of entertainment properties, and a business structure that maximizes the value of creative properties across multiple platforms and territories. We believe that adding Marvel to Disney’s unique portfolio of brands provides significant opportunities for long-term growth and value creation."

Paramount will maintain their arrangement to distribute five upcoming Marvel Studios films, including Iron Man 2, Thor, Captain America, and The Avengers. All other deals for movies for characters at other studios (e.g. Spider-Man, X-Men) will stay in place under the terms originally set by Marvel. Disney would like to start distributing Marvel movies down the line, saying "when the time comes we'll take a closer look at it." John Lasseter met last week about a possible team-up between Marvel and Pixar and apparently got "pretty excited, pretty fast." They say there's definitely an opportunity there.

This is a huge moment in entertainment history and is a great opportunity for Disney to literally take over the movie world with its upcoming joint projects. As long as we don't see X-Men/ Hannah Montana crossover movies I'm sure we'll all be fine...

Thesun.co.uk presented some funky photo shopped Marvel/ Disney crossover pics on their site today to celebrate the occasion which you can view HERE. I've put a few below to give you an idea of what's there. You can also find a huge gallery of these crossover pics HERE on comicbookmovie.com.

Tekken Movie

Crimson blur here again peeps.

G.I. Joe: Rise Of Cobra - Mini Movie Review By The Crimson Blur

A Crimson Blur Post

Hi all,

Crimson blur here and I know to some that this will be late but I'm going to have my say on G.I. Joe.

Where to start? OK, my Knowledge for Joe is not good... I never read the comics and never really watched the cartoons, I did however have some of the toys as they were awesome.
I'm pretty good when it come to character's backgrounds, but when it comes to G.I. Joe I haven't a clue and when I watched this film that might of been a good thing. This might help Hasbro capture a new audience as they launch the toy line, but I might be wrong.

For the film I didn't think it was actually that bad. I liked the action, loved the Babes, but I felt the film didn't have enough story... all you get is BANG BANG !! slap stick humour BANG BANG!! more slap stick humour.

One of my favourite characters had to be "Snake Eyes" but I wanted to know more about him. All I got was that he was a little boy that amazingly knew martial arts, was hungry one day, and then the master (who is an extra from Big Trouble in Little China) of the home Snake tries to steal food from, took him under his wing and trained him. If you look up Snake Eyes on Wiki there is a lot more to him and it's a lot more interesting.

In a nut shell the film is watchable with good action scenes and some good, funny moments. I think a whole lot more could of been done, but maybe we will see a lot more in the sequel (which has already been confirmed).

I rate this film 6.5 out of 10

Back To Posting...

Wow... Over a week since the last post on here huh? I'm slipping again!

Over the course of the next couple of days I should be putting up a fair few posts, so stay tuned. I'm going to have to allocate my time a lot better as I seem to have none at all in between the kids, my X-Box 360, work and rest... Plus I'm going to return to my gym over the next few months as I've hit a very unhealthy point and I need to lose a few pounds! This means going to bed earlier and getting up earlier and losing even more of my spare time!

Maybe I should consider letting the other members post their own stuff from now onwards instead of them e-mailing me. Hmmmmm...

Once more into the breach!
