Movies That Slipped Under Your Bat-Radar #3

Movies That Slipped Under Your Bat-Radar #3 is...

The Princess & The Frog (2009)

Directed by Ron Clements and John Musker (The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Hercules).
Starring Anika Noni Rose (Dreamgirls), Keith David (Platoon, Gargoyles), Jim Cummings (Winnie The Pooh, The Lion King, The Pagemaster, Elder Scrolls; Skyrim... literally everything thats ever been animated. Seriously. Look this legend up on imdb and you'll realise he's the voice of your childhood. And your teenage years. And your adult life.)
Also stars; Bruno Campos, Jenifer Lewis, John Goodman.

This movie may have slipped under your Bat-Radar because;
Poor advertising campaign (in comparison to most Disney features), a 'throwback' to the days of Disney's traditional animation so possibly niche market, thought of as a 'kids film'.

Brief synopsis;
A fairy tale set in Jazz Age-era New Orleans and centered on a young woman named Tiana and her fateful kiss with a frog prince who desperately wants to be human again.

Why you need to watch this;
Wow. Just, wow. A hark back to the glorious Disney days of The Little Mermaid and The Lion King, this beautiful animated feature is less pretty-princess and more get-up-and-go, but not lacking in heart either. Set to an incredible New Orleans jazz soundtrack, this cannot be missed. This could be the last time we see Disney return to the traditional animation format and you do NOT want to miss this.

Honourable Mention;
- The Princess And The Frog is the first Disney feature since The Beauty And The Beast to feature all the characters voice actors also singing their parts too. (Usually different actors/singers perform the singing parts.)

- Jim Cummings deserves an award of some kind for vocally creating one of the most flawlessly endearing characters in the history of animation. I am endlessly thankful for the talent that is Mr. Cummings.
