Kick-Ass - New Posters Including Nic Cage As Big Daddy!

Although the poster of Kick-Ass himself has been around for a little while now I thought I'd post it up as I'd missed it in previous Kick-Ass posts over the last month or two.

And below that is the newest poster featuring Nicholas Cage's character: Batman... sorry I mean Owlman... Er Midnighter? Oh, oh yeah it's 'BIG DADDY'!

It's funny because I clearly remember Big Daddy being a huge, overweight, ageing, tight leotard-wearing, Giant Haystack beating, English Wrestler... But maybe I'm getting confused! ;)

Anyway, enjoy.

QMX Get The Manufacturing Rights to Dr. Horrible!

OK, so although I haven't watched the entire Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog thingy and I'm not its biggest fan I know a bunch of people who swear by it, including our very own Emerald Knight.

The good news for Dr. Horrible fans is that Quantum Mechanix (QMX) have just secured the manufacturing rights to the franchise to make statues, t-shirts and loads of other cool merchandise as they have done with Serenity, BSG and SG-1. You can see the prototype Dr. Horrible statue above.

I'm a big QMX fan and love their products, I've worked with them in the past in my job and own a fair number of their collectibles which sit proudly on my shelf. I know that adding Dr. Horrible to their range is only going to make them stronger and that's great news.

Personally I'm awaiting for the release of QMX's SG-1 Death Glider with its cool diorama base that includes a mini DHD and Stargate! It'll go nicely with my F-302!

You can visit QMX's store on its website HERE to see the latest releases or follow them on Facebook HERE.

New Trailers - Clash Of The Titans, Prince Of Persia, Robin Hood & Kick-Ass!

The Clash of the Titans vid has been put up and taken down so many times it's been hard to find one that's stuck. Hopefully the one below will for a little while!

You also have three vids below, one from from Prince of Persia, one from Robin Hood and one from Kick-Ass which have gone up over the last couple of days... enjoy!

New Game Trailers - Tron Evolution, Halo Reach & Batman: Arkham Asylum 2!

Wow, I didn't even know that Batman: Arkham Asylum 2 was even in the works and then I find online that there's a teaser trailer for it! Awesome! Plus new trailers for Tron Evolution (loved the Tron 2.0 game on the PC) and the new prequel to the first Halo game Halo: Reach. All mighty fine looking games to look forward to!

WTF!!! SOME STUPID WOMAN CRYING OVER RETURN OF THE JEDI.

Now I know the ROTJ was hardly the best movie of the STARWARS TRILOGY, but WTF!!!! Why is this stupid woman crying about it.

And lets just hope she doesn't get to the "new" trilogy...she'll cut her fuc*ing wrists after seeing those!!!!!

Although to be fair, the douche taping her needs a massive slap as well...he'd be very very single if he'd done that to me..........not that I'd be going out with him in the first place.....hey, you know what I mean!!!!

This is however funny as anything. It proves the point, stupid people are funny...in a pathetic kinda way.

Toy Story 3 - New Pic - The Gang's All Here!

A new pic from the upcoming Toy Story 3 movie has been released over the last couple of days. Nothing really new or special, just the old gang from the last two movies on show surveying what seems to be the pre-school room from the trailer.

Looking forward to this one, you can't beat Pixar movies, especially Toy Story!

The Force Unleashed 2 - New Trailer

Having completed and quite enjoyed the original Force Unleashed game I'm happy to see that a second one is coming out soon. Just found this video online and thought I'd share. Enjoy!

The Gruffalo - X-Mas Day Animation - New Pic And Info

More info from the TV & Satellite Week magazine here, this time on The Gruffalo.

My kids can't wait for this animated feature as me and the missus have read this book and its sequel 'The Gruffalo's Child' hundreds of times to them. It looks fantastic!

Click on the scanned image below for a bigger version.

Dr. Who - End Of Time - New Info And Pics (Spoilers)

So Mr. Tennant's time is almost up and by New Years Day Matt Smith will be taking the role of Dr. Who.

Christmas Day will see the beginning of the end for our current Doctor and to whet your already insatiable appetites I've scanned in a page of the most recent TV & Satellite Week magazine which gives away a few bits of info you might not know, including casting, plot spoilers and images.

Also, I never mentioned this before (although it's old news if you've been following the online updates) but did you know that Timothy Dalton will be appearing as a Timelord?... Yes that's right, he's mentioned in the interview below but it doesn't say who he is in the episode. Recent set info stated that Dalton was seen in full Timelord garb with flowing gown and collar, so is he another Timelord that survived as well as the Dr and the Master? Is he a flashback in the Dr's mind from before Gallifrey was destroyed? Or is he some sort of transition stage for the Master? We'll have to see.

Click on the scanned image below to enlarge and read the whole thing.

Batman Returns Cowl And Grapple Gun Props By Toynami

I'm a collector of movie props and I'm always on the lookout for new and exciting item to add to my collection.

Yesterday I came across the information that Toynami (manufacturers of the Futurama action figures among many other things) are going to be making some cool Tim Burton 1992 Batman Returns props.

There are only two mentioned so far and they are the cowl and the grappling gun. They're both limited to 500 pieces each and the cowl appears to be $475, while the grapple gun is $375 over at bigbadtoystore.

I have to admit to being tempted by the cowl, I've always wanted one and if it's wearable then I might be even more tempted. Not that I'd go running around the house humming the Batman theme tune, scaring the kids of course... honest!

Fraggles Make A Welcome Return...

OK so Jim Henson's Fraggles are indeed making a welcome return... but unfortunately it's not on our T.V's or in our cinemas just yet.

Instead they're coming back via Dr. Romanelli's (aka Dr. X) resurrection of the much loved franchise through his new fashion range and music mix involvement.

Recently the U.S. Kitson store had an amazing Doozer window display put up which will also move on to Parisian boutique Colette before X-mas. You can see couple of pics of the window display below (Doozers rock!).

During the publicity launch a fair number of famous guests were in attendance including the uber-hot Carmen Electra who you can see snogging Red the Fraggle below (gotta love Red's necklace!). It's cool that Jim Henson's various Muppet incarnations keep coming back and that they are honestly considered by many to be real breathing creatures and not just puppets on the end of someones hand. Most of my fondest t.v. memories from when I was a kid are from the Muppet show, Sesame Street and Fraggle Rock as well as the movies Labyrinth and Dark Crystal. And who can forget that the Farscape aliens were Henson Muppet creations too!

To view the cute little site with all the Fraggle info, and listen to some cool Fraggle theme tune mixes, visit the website HERE.

SURVIVORS RETURNS TO THE BBC - SEASON 2 TO HIT AIRWAVES IN JAN

Having been avidly awaiting the return of the BBC'S remake of SURVIVOR, I have just seen that the return should be early JAN 2010.......or at least that's the plan so far.

For those that remember the last season left us with the mysterious team of scientists (the ones flying around in the chopper all over the place) kidnapping Abbey (Julie graham) because of her apparent immunity to the virus/contagion. To top it off Greg (Paterson Joseph) had been shot and it wasn't looking too good, and the crazy Samantha Willis (Nikki Amunka-bird) and her merry band of nutters were also running around on the warpath.

Why does the end of the world always make people so cranky??!!??

Here's a trailer for the previous series for a little catch up, and a link to the original news article (spoilers contained)

Almost makes it worth the licence fee.......please note BBC, I said ALMOST.

MISFITS - E4 GET CHAV-TASTIC

Have you gotten around to watching MISFITS on E4 ( and for our American brethren I'm sure it's streamed somewhere online)

Never have I seen a show get away with what this one does, but don't get me wrong I mean it in a great way. Masturbation, death, super powers, and everything in between.

This is the X MEN meets Chav culture. DO NOT MISS THIS!!!

RETURN OF THE TRIFFIDS......AGAIN!!!!

Having just read this on the SCIFIWIRE website, I find myself wondering why I bother paying my TV licence....the BBC can't keep us paying it and rely on the "BUT WE BOUGHT BACK DR WHO" argument.

Another recycled (although I have never seen the original so it'll at least be new for me) mini series about those damn pesky Triffids.

Here's the SCIFIWIRE ( that's the SYFY channels news site if you didn't already know.) article and photos.

You can't keep a good killer plant down! SF author John Wyndham came up with the iconic ambulatory killer shrubs called "Triffids" for his 1951 novel The Day of the Triffids, in which the plants take the opportunity, when most of the world is struck blind, to start munching on humans.

Den of Geek has posted scads of pics of from the BBC adaptation of The Day of the Triffids, the second mini-series (the BBC has already done it before in 1981) slated to air in the U.K. on Dec. 28 and 29. The new adaptation is directed by The 4400 and The Dresden Files vet Nick Copus and stars Dougray Scott, Joely Richardson, Brian Cox, Vanessa Redgrave, Eddie Izzard and Jason Priestley.

Though earlier incarnations of the Triffids have left their origins mysterious, the BBC version apparently puts the blame squarely on humanity. According to its press release, "In the not-too-distant future, man's search for an alternative fuel supply leads him to uncover the ominous Triffid, a crop now cultivated for its fuel that seems to have a life of its own." Gee, thanks a lot, scientists!

Triffids have long been the weeds on the lawn of sci-fi culture. There was the classic 1962 creature feature of the same name. Triffids are mentioned in Richard O'Brien's Rocky Horror Picture Show. In 1975, there was Marvel Comics' Unknown Worlds of Science Fiction adaptation. Danny Boyle stole imagery of a devastated London from both the novel and the film for 28 Days Later. Triffids are even mentioned in Junot Diaz's Pulitzer Prize-winning novel about geek life, The Brief, Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao.

HOW DO YOU MAKE A CRAP FILM LOOK GOOD?

The first thing that you do is get a talented marketing team, and cut all the rubbish from a film ad cram all the good bits into a trailer that doesn't actually represent the tone or content of the finished product.

Here is a prime example of what you can do to make a shite film look good. Don't get me wrong, there are dozens of really good movies in this 3 and a half minute short compilation of films.............however there are also some of the biggest turkeys from the last few years ( you know how you are!!!)

Enjoy the trailer, and for those anoraks out there here's an almost complete list of the films shown.....

Included in the video are: Underworld: Rise of the Lycans, The Lightning Thief, Babylon A.D., Knowing, Sherlock Holmes, Death Race, The Uninvited, Max Payne, The Fast and the Furious, G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, Midnight Meat Train, Quarantine, 2012, Ninja Assasin, New Moon, Whiteout, Final Destination, Daybreakers, Race to Witch Mountain, Moon, Inglourious Basterds, The Box, Obsessed, Friday the 13th, Star Trek, Terminator Salvation, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Watchmen, Dragonball, The Spirit, Carriers, Bangkok Dangerous, District 9, Surrogate, The Book of Eli, Mirrors, The Happening, Fighting, The Road, Angels & Demons, Jennifer's Body, The Day the Earth Stood Still, Pineapple Express, The Last House on the Left, The Haunting in Connecticut, Shutter Island, Sorority Row and two (we think) Russian films we couldn't identify.

Clash Of The Titans - 3 New Posters

Finally the official posters for 2010's Clash of the Titans have been released and are shown below.

I'll admit to being overly excited about this film as I loved the original, along with Jason and the Argonauts and the old Sinbad movies... Classics. This looks set to be an epic, effects laden, mythical bonanza and could well become one of my favourite ever movies. Or it could be crap... We'll see.

Iron Man 2 - New Poster - Whiplash!

Another new poster for Iron Man 2 and this times it's Mickey Rourke's Whiplash!

This is definitely going to be one of 2010's biggest and best movies... Looks frickin awesome so far!

LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 - New Game Trailer

I've posted quite a few times about the upcoming Lego Harry Potter game as me and my daughter are really looking forward to playing this together, as we have with every other Lego game release (including the recent Indy 2 360 game).

Below is the newest trailer which makes the game look completely awesome and shows some classic scenes from the first 4 movies which you'll get to play through. Can't wait!

LOST - Final Season Promo Trailers (No Spoilers)

Yes it's true LOST fans... On Feb 2nd 2010 the final season will start. It's bittersweet to many as although we're happy it's returning, we know it will be gone for good soon after.

Below are two promo trailers for season 6 (no spoilers) from ABC and Spanish channel 'Cuatro'. I seriously can't wait for Lost to start again!

CHUCK-TASTIC - 6 minute preview of season 3

Check out the preview of season 3 of the best show on earth (well, maybe not THE best, but certainly one of the best)

I love this show, and things appear to be getting better as time goes by.

Can't wait till Jan 10th when it hits the airwaves.

Super Mario And Luke Skywalker As Women?

Whilst perusing the Internet yesterday I came across two pics of famous characters who have had their gender swapped by their respective artists.

Can you imagine the Mario games with a female lead (*cough* Great Giana Sisters on the Amiga *cough*)? Or the original Star Wars films revolving around a female Skywalker? Well if not these pics should help, I found them quite amusing.

Tron Legacy - New Pic And Poster

Even though we have to wait a full year for this movie to be released I'm still super-hyped to see both this random pic and the new lightcyle themed poster for Tron Legacy.

I'm a big fan of the original Tron movie and the Tron 2.0 PC game was actually pretty awesome. When I saw the SDCC trailer in hi-def for the first time I got popcorn sized goosebumps and I admit that the same thing happened when I saw these too. Sad I know, but how can you not love Tron?

Enjoy!

The Sorcerer's Apprentice - NewTrailer

Disney have finally debuted the first official trailer for The Sorcerer's Apprentice. This new action-adventure movie stars Nicolas Cage as the Sorcerer Balthazar Blake, Jay Baruchel as his Apprentice, Monica Bellucci, Alfred Molina, Teresa Palmer, and Toby Kebbell.

Judging by the trailer this could be a pretty fun movie, although it looks quite dark and scary for my two kids in parts... Looking forward to it nonetheless.

Children In Need 2009 - Official Music Video

Whether you've got young kids now or used to watch children's programmes as a kid you can't help but smile at this video for Children in Need 2009. Written and created by Peter Kay the video features just about every famous children's t.v. character possible and a bunch of famous songs made into an enjoyable medley sung by the lot.

I only caught a glimpse of this when the kids were watching Nick Jr earlier today and decided to track down the Youtube vid and post it up. Beware though that at least one posting of it on Youtube has already been retracted due to a claim... Gits.

Enjoy!

Lots Of Cool Pics From Around The Web...

Just a selection of some of the cool pics I've found across the web over the last week or so... Some awesome and some funny, all are my kind of taste so enjoy. Click on each image for a larger version if you can't see it properly. ;)
