I'm a DC animated movie fanatic so I'm super-happy to see this new video showing footage from the upcoming "Death of Superman" addition and to see the voice-cast, both old and new. Part 2 - "Reign of the Supermen" will be coming in early 2019!
Jerry O’Connell will reprise his role as the Man of Steel in the film, leading an all-star voice cast for Warner Bros. Animation’s adaptation of the 1992 comic book storyline.
Announced in July 2017, it’s part of a two-movie animated epic that will conclude next year with the release of Reign of the Supermen.
O’Connell will be joined by his wife Rebecca Romijn as Lois Lane and Rainn Wilson as Lex Luthor, with DC Universe Animated Orginal Movies veterans Jason O’Mara as Batman, Rosario Dawson as Wonder Woman, Matt Lanter as Aquaman, Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern, Christopher Gorham as The Flash and Shemar Moore as Cyborg.
The cast also includes Rocky Carroll as Cyborg’s father Silas Stone, and Better Call Saul’s Patrick Fabian as Hank Henshaw. While Henshaw is a part of DC’s “Reign of the Supermen” storyline, along with Superboy, Steel and Eradicator, the voice actors for those three characters have not yet been revealed.
In the original “Death of Superman,” the Man of Steel sacrifices himself to save Metropolis from a rampage by Doomsday, a seemingly unstoppable monster genetically-engineered from the depths of prehistoric Superman’s home world, Krypton.
