Constantine TV Show - Casting News
Although I've never read a Constantine comic in my life I have to admit that I did actually like the 2005 Keanu Reeves movie adaptation.
New hit a few weeks ago that NBC are making a TV show based on the Constantine comic character and that Welsh actor Matt Ryan (Criminal Minds & Assassin's Creed IV) has nabbed the title role. Last week it was then announced that Harold Perrineau (LOST, Matrix 2 & 3) will be playing "Manny" an authoritative angel assigned to watch over Constantine, Lucy Griffiths (True Blood) is playing "Liv" an offbeat young lady who finds herself teamed up with Constantine after she's marked for death by a powerful demon, and Charles Halford (True Detective) will be playing "Chas" Constantine's oldest friend and staunch companion (played by Shia LaBoeuf in the movie).
This will definitely be something I'll watch but we'll have to wait and see if it's worth it!

Gotham Show Casts Young Buce Wayne And Selina Kyle
The new Fox TV show "Gotham" has cast two major roles this week with Bruce Wayne being played by 14 year old David Mazouz (who you'll know as the young boy with special powers who didn't speak in the previous Fox series -Touch) and Selina Kyle being played by newcomer Camren Bicondova.
Obviously we know that the series will focus on James Gordon but other characters from the Batman/DC Comics universe will be continuing side stories for geeks to sink their teeth into as the show progresses.
Annie - First Trailer
If you weren't aware there's an Annie remake and below you'll find the first official trailer. I'm all for remakes if it advances and rejuvenates the story or mythology, but this just looks like a remake for the sake of a remake, with the main change being the ethnicity of the main two roles...

New Matrix Movie Trilogy In The Works?
Although unconfirmed at this time news went up last week that a new Matrix movie trilogy may be in the works.
Speculation starting with Latinoreview.com sstates that the Wachowski's have started writing the outlines for what may be prequels based on the original creation of the Matrix for Warner Bros. building on the mythology and history (but excluding anything from the animated Matrix outings).
This is still very early news and nothing is solid but I'm not sure, as a Matrix fanatic, that I want new movies... But what I want doesn't matter, they may be coming like it or not.
Marvel Netflix TV Shows News
New York is now officially the filming location for the proposed new Marvel/Netflix shows featuring Daredevil, Iron Fist, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage culminating in the amalgamated Defenders special event which will include all 4 characters together.
The proposed 52 serialised one-hour episodes will be split into four separate shows over multiple years of viewing introducing you to these characters and the Marvel world they live in and when they're all over there will be a 4 - 8 episode mini-series event which will give us a new team not unlike The Avengers.
This is what fans are wanting and expanding on the Marvel universe in such a massive way (including Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D etc) is a huge step forward in giving everyone what they want.

Farscape - New TV Movie Coming Soon?
Empireonline.com posted up news last week stating that one of the original Farscape writers 'Monjo' is currently working on a screenplay for a new Farscape TV movie, several years after the Peacekeeper Wars finale.
Although no real news has been released the supposed plot line involves John Crichton and Aeryn Sun's now 19 year old son 'D'Argo Sun-Crichton' who has been hiding out on Earth for most of his life, since he's the target of villainous aliens, but when he's finally discovered - manifesting latent "special powers" - he rejoins his parents for more adventuring.
Die-hard fans will relish the opportunity a new instalment will give them to get back into the much-loved Farscape universe and it's always great to see historical progression in a sci-fi show, but will it be any good? I don't mind either way, I love it!
Heroes - NBC Bringing Back Show For New 13 Episode Mini-Series?
NBC announced over a week ago that they are bringing back the 'Heroes' TV show for a 13 episode mini-series entitled "Heroes: Reborn".
The original series ran for 4 seasons (although most people gave up i it before season 2 ended) and was cancelled in 2010. It had a phenomenal following in the first two years but floundered badly with poor writing and storyline progression by the fourth bringing a lot of negative press and reviews to what could have been a fantastic ongoing show.
“The enormous impact Heroes had on the television landscape when it first launched in 2006 was eye-opening,” said NBC Entertainment President Jennifer Salke. “Shows with that kind of resonance don’t come around often and we thought it was time for another instalment. We’re thrilled that visionary creator Tim Kring was as excited about jumping back into this show as we were and we look forward to all the new textures and layers Tim plans to add to his original concept. Until we get closer to air in 2015, the show will be appropriately shrouded in secrecy, but we won’t rule out the possibility of some of the show’s original cast members popping back in.”
So who do you want to see return? Hiro? Claire? Sylar? Peter? Aaaaarrrgh, this could be brilliant or terrible. Let's hope it's brilliant!

Let me start off this new slew of posts this week by apologising for the delay. Most of these are over a week old but unfortunately I had a medical issue which put my eyesight out of action for a week (and it's still not 100% at this point) so I'm playing catch up!
