Cool Pics From The Web (Of The Week)

A few weeks since the last one, so this should "of the last few weeks", but this is always my favourite post so I hope you enjoy it too!

Matt Smith Leaving Doctor Who! Who's Going To Be Doctor Number 12?

So you've probably heard the news by now - that Matt Smith is leaving Doctor Who for good after the X-mas 2-13 episode, and now the internet is exploding with ideas on who the 12 Doctor will be.

So far I've read that we may be looking at a black Doctor, a female Doctor, a black-female Doctor, or even number 10 coming back...

I've seen names like Idris Elba, Dame Helene Mirren, Rupert Grint, Benedict Cumberbatch, Colin Morgan, David Tennant (2nd go?), Domhnall Gleeson, Daniel Kaluuya, Richard Ayoade, and Dominic Cooper.

At the end of the day I think we'll see another relatively new face playing The Doctor, and maybe they'll go younger. Then again I have no problem with a black man taking the part, or even a woman. It's about time (no pun intended) we have a major change! It'll be sad to see Smith go, as it was when Tennant left, but Smith did very well in the part and I trust Steven Moffatt and the BBC to do right by the fans!

First Marvel/Disney Crossover = Phineas And Ferb: Mission Marvel!

So the first official Disney/Marvel crossover is here and for better or worse it's a Phineas and Ferb television special.

Follow Spider-Man, Iron Man, Thor and the Hulk as they enter the fictional town of Danville after Dr. Doofenshmirtz’s latest “inator” scheme accidentally removes their powers and immobilizes them. In order to defeat Marvel’s super villains Red Skull, Whiplash, Venom and M.O.D.O.K., the Marvel heroes team up with Phineas and Ferb.

This is huge for kids, like my own two who saw this trailer and were really excited, but for all the older fans out there this isn't really what we were hoping for! Bring on the new Star Wars movies instead!

The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug - First Image Of Tauriel

The first official image of Evangeline Lilly as Tauriel in the Hobbit sequel The Desolation of Smaug is here via EW.com.

"She’s slightly reckless and totally ruthless and doesn’t hesitate to kill," Evangeline Lilly said of her role as elf warrior Tauriel in this December's The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. "Tauriel is the head of the Elven Guard. She’s a Sylvan Elf, which means she’s of a much lower order than the elves we all became acquainted with in The Lord of the Rings. She doesn’t hold the same kind of status that Arwen or Galadriel or Elrond or Legolas do — she’s much more lowly. She sort of goes against the social order of the elves a little bit." For those of you racking your brains or flicking through your copies of J.R.R. Tolkien's The Hobbit, Tauriel is in fact a brand new creation for the movie. However, we will get to see her relationship with an already established character - Orlando Bloom's Legolas - explored. "Tauriel’s relationship with Legolas is significant. They’ve known each other since they were children, and Legolas’ dad, [Elven king] Thrandruil, has a soft spot for Tauriel and sees something very special in her."

Man Of Steel - Another Awesome New Trailer!

This could simply be my favourite movie of all time... I'm only basing that on the ongoing trailers we keep seeing, but it's a good bet.

Guardians Of The Galaxy - Casting News

A quick one here covering some of the recent Marvel Guardians of the Galaxy movie casting news.

Confirmed recently:

Glenn Close as a Nova Corps leader (does this confirm Nova's inclusion in the film even though we've not heard of this yet?)

Benicio Del Toro as main male villain "The Collector"/Taneleer Tivan

Karen Gillan as the lead female villain (unamed so far)

Ophelia Lovibond as Tivan's "aide"

Transformers 4 - New Vehicle Pics

Some recently released photos (and a fan amalgamation) showing some of the new vehicle modes featured in Transformers 4. As you'll see Bumblebee seems to have chosen to devolve whereas Optimus look a little more futuristic. This sequel is set 4 years after the third outing and features Mark Wahlberg, Jack Reynor, Nicola Peltz, Kelsey Grammer, Stanley Tucci, and Sophia Myles.

X-Men: Days Of Future Past - New Set Photos

New set photos here from the set of X-Men: Days of Future Past including Magneto and Beast! News also broke last week that Havoc (actor Lucas Till) has been seen on set although not officially announced for the film... Hope this is good!

Captain America: The Winter Soldier - New Photos (WS In Costumes!)

New photos here from the set of Captain America: The Winter Soldier showing Bucky/Winter Solider in costume along with his bionic arm too!

Feeling a little apathetic to this so far but then the Marvel movies haven't let me down, so here's hoping it's another awesome one!

Thor: The Dark World - New Images
