AMC developing new companions series to The Walking Dead called 'Spread the Dead'?
AMC announced the other day that the network is in the initial stages of developing a companion series to its original drama series The Walking Dead, which premiered on AMC in October of 2010. The Walking Dead is currently the #1 show on television among adults 18-49. Robert Kirkman, Gale Anne Hurd and David Alpert are on board as executive producers, with AMC Studios set to produce. The companion series has a target on-air date of 2015.
"Building on the success of the most popular show on television for adults 18-49 is literally a no-brainer," said Charlie Collier, AMC's president and general manager. "We look forward to working with Robert, Gale and Dave again as we develop an entirely new story and cast of characters. It's a big world and we can't wait to give fans another unforgettable view of the zombie apocalypse."
"After 10 years of writing the comic book series and being so close to the debut of our fourth, and in my opinion, best season of the TV series, I couldn't be more thrilled about getting the chance to create a new corner of The Walking Dead universe," said Kirkman. "The opportunity to make a show that isn't tethered by the events of the comic book, and is truly a blank page, has set my creativity racing."

New Commissioner Gordon/Gotham PD TV series announced?
Fox have reportedly just signed a deal for a live-action television series centred around the DC comics and Batman regular character - Commission Gordon. The series will supposedly be called 'Gotham' and will focus on Gordon's early years as a detective in the GCPD. Supposedly we'll see many familiar Batman villains but we'll never see Bruce Wayne or Batman.
Riding on the coat tails of shows like Smallville, Arrow, and The Flash the show will bring us more content from the DC Universe, but is it what people want? I don't think so. So far spin off shows like Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D are showing what a luke-warm reception non superpowered shows can get... Not that Agents is bad, and not saying Gotham will be either, but I'd like to see more of the main characters and less of the supporting ones.
Fast & Furious 7 brings back Lucas Black and adds Kurt Russell?
If you read this blog then you'll know just how much I love and fully enjoy the Fast & Furious film series. Now things seem to be getting even better with the news that Fast & Furious: Tokyo Drift protagonist Sean Boswell (played by Lucas Black) will become one of the team in 7 with a regular part in at least 3 more movies. If you know the films then you can see where that natural character progression would be as Sean's friend Han dies at the end of Drift (events of which actually take place after the 6th film) and Dom ends up cameoing at the end supposedly now bringing Sean into the family. This is progression in the best and most enjoyable sense and I'm truly happy more of these films are being made.
On another casting note actor Kurt Russell has joined the Fast & Furious cast supposedly playing Jesse's father (Jesse was killed in the first film) and can be seen on the right of the image below released by Vin Diesel last week. His role isn't 100% confirmed so that info might be wrong, we'll have to wait and see, but I'm a big Kurt Russell fan so it's great he's on board for 7. :)

OK so it's not much, but this is the first official image from Transformers 4: Age of Extinction showing Mark Wahlberg, Nicola Peltz, and Jack Raynor seemingly in the middle of nowhere next to a dilapidated gas station for no particular reason... Can't wait to see the new bots and the revamped Bumblebee design!

The Simpsons are killing off a well known character?
A major character on The Simpsons will be killed off this season, it has been revealed... but the identity of the unfortunate regular remains a mystery.
Executive producer Al Jean was tight-lipped when speaking about the show's current 25th season, which began airing in the US over the weekend.
Speaking to Canada's Sun News, he said: "I'll give you a clue that the actor playing the character won an Emmy for playing that character, but I won't say who it is."
That doesn't really help, as the show has boasted 25 Emmy wins since it rose to prominence in the late 80s, with most of the major characters' artists being recognised.
It's been 14 years since the show pulled a similar stunt - getting rid of Ned Flanders' missus Maude.
It's also been confirmed that the final episode of the season will be a crossover with Futurama. Jean gushed of the episode's table-read: "I've been here 25 years, and we had a read yesterday where the excitement was as high as I've ever seen.
"We had John DiMaggio and Billy West and Maurice LaMarche from Futurama, as well as our cast, and I thought that's got to be the greatest voiceover talent assembled at one read. It was really, really great to see Bender interacting with Homer."
Also this year, Comic Book Guy will tie the knot in an episode featuring Stan Lee, and Zach Galifianakis will also make a guest appearance in the foreseeable future. Kristen Wiig voiced a character in the season premiere, a spoof of Homeland, which aired on Sunday.
