Yet another epic new trailer here, this time for Thor: The Dark World.
I have to admit to not being very excited for this, until I watched the new trailer, saw the new footage, and remembered how much I enjoy these Marvel movies!

Ender's Game - Epic New Trailer!
Ender's Game has a brand new trailer, and it's pretty epic.
In the near future, a hostile alien race called the Formics have attacked Earth. If not for the legendary heroics of International Fleet Commander Mazer Rackham (Ben Kingsley), all would have been lost. In preparation for the next attack, the highly esteemed Colonel Hyrum Graff (Harrison Ford) and the International Military are training only the best young minds to find the future Mazer.
Ender Wiggin (Asa Butterfield), a shy but strategically brilliant boy, is recruited to join the elite. Arriving at Battle School, Ender quickly and easily masters increasingly difficult challenges and simulations, distinguishing himself and winning respect amongst his peers. Ender is soon ordained by Graff as the military's next great hope, resulting in his promotion to Command School. Once there, he's trained by Mazer Rackham himself to lead his fellow soldiers into an epic battle that will determine the future of Earth and save the human race.
Based on the best-selling, award winning novel, "Ender's Game" is an epic adventure which stars Asa Butterfield, Hailee Steinfeld, Ben Kingsley,Viola Davis, with Abigail Breslin and Harrison Ford.

Muppets Most Wanted - New Teaser Trailer!
The sequel to 2011's 'The Muppets' called 'Muppets Most Wanted' finally has a teaser trailer.
If you're a Muppet fan like me (or you're simply a kid) I'm sure you'll love it, if you're not I can truly see you not being able to stomach it at all! My kids just watched the trailer and were more happy about the cameos from their Disney Channel heroines Debby Ryan and Bridgit Mendler!
Disney's "Muppets Most Wanted" takes the entire Muppets gang on a global tour, selling out grand theaters in some of Europe's most exciting destinations, including Berlin, Madrid and London. But mayhem follows the Muppets overseas, as they find themselves unwittingly entangled in an international crime caper headed by Constantine—the World's Number One Criminal and a dead ringer for Kermit—and his dastardly sidekick Dominic, aka Number Two, portrayed by Ricky Gervais. The film stars Tina Fey as Nadya, a feisty prison guard, and Ty Burrell as Interpol agent Jean Pierre Napoleon. Disney's "Muppets Most Wanted" is directed by James Bobin and produced by David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman. Bobin co-wrote the screenplay with Nicholas Stoller, who is also executive producer with John G. Scotti. Featuring music from Academy Award®-winning songwriter Bret McKenzie, "Muppets Most Wanted" hits the big screen March 21, 2014.
Enjoy!

Écoutez, s'il vous plaît. Il Les Revenants (or The Returned, if you will).
Now
that the first series has finished, and I’ve been able to digest the feast of a
show that it is, I’ve finally been able to complete a review of The Returned. Don’t
worry, the title is the only badly-translated bit of French there’ll be. I'll keep
this review as spoiler-free as possible, as the general thrust of it is that if
you didn’t watch The Returned you
should seek it out and do so.
To call The Returned “the French Lost”
or “the French Twin Peaks” is lazy,
but not a million miles off. All three have an exceptional air of isolation
(due to their locations, The Returned
is set in a remote Alpine small town, not entirely unlike Twin Peaks); all three have scenery to die for, and all three have
absolutely glorious scores - but more on that later. I’d say Twin Peaks is the closer comparison, as both
shows share an underlying sense of oddness, even when you exclude the central
concept.
And what a seemingly simple concept it
is. A small, isolated French town, somewhere around the Alps, suddenly begins
to find its deceased residents coming back – apparently unaware of their own
deaths. Why and how are important questions, but not necessarily the point. Refreshingly
(for some, frustratingly for others), The
Returned has spent its first series of eight beautifully made episodes not
answering the whys and the hows and concentrating on the impact. The Returners,
for what of a better phrase, are not zombies, and they have no revealed interest
in eating brains or consuming living flesh. They have simply come back to life,
which causes far more complications than might seem obvious. The Returned’s main concern, for most of
the series, is with the impact that the Returners on their loved ones.
The
Returned is all about the
characters, and the performances are so composed and naturalistic that language
barrier (The Returned is in French,
with English subtitles) doesn’t really come into it. It’s unfair to single out
specific performers, as the show is very much an ensemble affair, but Frédéric
Pierrot is particularly impressive as the broken man Jérôme, as are Jenna Thiam
and Yara Pilartz as his daughters, Lena and Camille. Guillaume Gouix and,
Grégory Gadebois as brothers Serge and Toni also deserve a mention, as does Céline
Sallette. I'll restrict myself to mentioning only one more performance, as I'm in
danger of critiquing the entire cast one-by-one, but I can’t write a review of The Returned without mentioning Swann
Nambotin. As the mysterious Victor (and he’s mysterious even for The Returned), Nambotin has a ethereal,
otherworldly presence which is all the more remarkable considering The Returned is his first acting role,
having been picked by the show’s creators from the children living in and
around the filming location.
Adding
to the show’s atmosphere is the fantastic score. Mogwai’s post-rock soundscapes
may not be to everyone’s listening tastes usually (although they obviously are
mine), but there’s no denying how powerful they are when combined with the performances
and visual treats of The Returned.
Faintly reminiscent of John Murphy’s outstanding musical contributions to films
like 28 Days Later and Sunshine, pieces like “Wizard Motor”
beautifully compliment – and contribute to – the melancholy and emotional
intensity of the show. The title sequence, like that of True Blood or Game of Thrones,
is good enough musically and visually to be worth watching alone.
I'll
end this review with a word of advice to anyone who goes ahead and watches it,
or that watched it first time around and wasn’t too sure – don’t expect
everything to be wrapped up by the last episode. Not every question is going to
be answered at the end of the series, because The Returned doesn’t give you
easy answers. I think viewing it in terms of series isn’t entirely accurate –
the term series, or season, implies that there will be a different overall plot
for each of them. I think the show as a whole will have one long-running
storyline spread across several series (3 or 4, I believe), so it would
probably be more accurate to refer to them as volumes.
In
conclusion, I can scarcely recommend The
Returned highly enough. Family drama mixes with fantasy and horror, with
incredible amounts of atmosphere and mystery. It glides easily and quickly
between being moving, unsettling, horrifying, often dryly amusing and always
excellent, with outstanding performances, a melancholy soundtrack, and
beautiful Alpine scenery. Whether you’ve seen it already or not, I suggest you seek
it out and watch it – after all, you don’t want to be unprepared when it
returns.
Kryptonian Warrior's Movie Review - The Wolverine
The Wolverine
First off I should point out that I love the X-Men. When I was younger the only comic series I bought every issue of whenever it was released was X-men and others like Uncanny X-men. I used to wait for weeks until I could get into Southend to go to my closest comic shop "Into the Void" and collect bags full of X-Men comics, and I had a collection numbering into the hundreds. I probably know more about the characters within X-Men comics than any other in the Marvel or DC Universe, maybe even more than Superman, so I know my X-stuff.
Wolverine is probably the most popular character to have been created in the X-series/history, even though he's not one of the originals, and therefore he was the main character, unless you count Rogue, in the X-Men movie in 2000 and its subsequent sequels. Hugh Jackman (although not exactly spot on casting due to his height etc) nailed the role, and has done so with ease ever since. However if you've seen the 3 X-Men movies (not including First Class) and the 2009 prequel X-Men Origins: Wolverine you'll be aware that the 3rd one (Last Stand), directed by Brett Ratner in 2006, and Origins, directed by Gavin Hood sucked complete and utter ass... If you don't agree with that then fine, but you are hereby banned from returning to this site and if I meet you in person I'll be forced to put you out of your misery (OK, joking, but you get the idea - they both sucked badly and any good scenes were totally overshadowed by the terrible flaws they spewed out every two minutes).
The Wolverine is supposed to by a sequel to the 3rd movie Last Stand and is clearly meant to bring us back to a proper Wolverine storyline where we're not overly tainted by other Marvel characters and/or massive changes to canon continuity, or bad acting for that matter. The Japanese setting (based on the 1982 comic run by Chris Claremont and Frank Miller) and the overall look/photography of the film, and to a lesser extent the story too, are new, and feel different, serious, and somehow "clean". But is it a good film? Well judging by the Facebook and online feedback I've seen you'd think it was Oscar-worthy, but for me it's simply not. Are people comparing it to Origins? If so the yeah, I'd have to agree, it's Oscar-worthy compared to that diabolical piece of so-called cinema, but compared to any other movie, and for that matter comic movies in particular? - No, not really.
Hugh Jackman is the best at what he does, and in this case what he does isn't very easy (Wolverine joke, get it?) as he's only playing the cards he's being dealt with the script and the story etc, but overall the film feels a little empty, a little soulless, and by the time you get to the end you'll possibly be quite miffed with what just happened in those last 10 minutes and what the hell the creative team have done with the character, especially considering the post credits scene and Logan's direct continuation into Days of Future Past (you'll understand once you see it), so you finish the film feeling a little like you may have done The Last Stand and Origins. You'll feel that you've certainly been given some class Wolverine action, lots of "blink-and-you'll-miss-it" claws and swords, you've got a fair share of ninjas, and even a semi-cool giant robotic Silver Samurai, but you'll probably question certain character arcs and decisions, you'll question what exactly the director/writer knows, or thinks they know, about Logan's mutant ability, where it comes from, what it does, and why it's not directly connected to his adamantium. You'll also question why Logan has adamantium (or that anyone knows anything about it) in World War II when the previous movies (specifically Origins), and the comics for that matter, clearly confirm the discovery of and then practical engineering of skeletal bonding and bone-to-blade claw upgrading doesn't happen until Weapon X in the 80's and therefore most of the film is historically inaccurate compared to its source material and therefore aggravating from the start (Last Stand major character deaths anyone???). Are they making out that the adamantium is what gives Logan his healing ability and that a suit of adamantium will keep a dying man alive??? And are we forgetting that Logan shouldn't have any memories of World War II as he lost them in Origins through to X-Men? He doesn't get those back so how does he remember all this??? Oh and be aware that a head-scratcher, albeit a cool one for fans, awaits you after the credits.
Anyway, enough of me being pedantic, here's the basic review as per usual:
First off, is this film good or bad? - Watchable/OK. I honestly wouldn't say "good" or "bad". Others would disagree fiercely I'm sure.
Would a non-fanboy/fangirl enjoy it too? - I think you need a general understanding/background of the Marvel Universe mutants and Wolverine's history, but yeah I think you can enjoy it without that, if I can go as far as to say "enjoy".
If this is a sequel do you need to have seen the other films in the franchise? - Like I just said for the answer to the previous question: It's going to help to see the previous movies, even if you have to sit through The Last Stand and Origins...
What words would you use to describe this film? - Action-packed, Japanese, *snikt*!
What was your favourite moment or moments in the movie? - Difficult to say, but maybe The Silver Samurai at a push.
Would you have changed anything if you could? - As usual - yes. Too many bits to mention.
What score would you give the movie out of 10, 10 being the best and 0 being the worst? - Oh this is painful... I really wanted to give this a high score before actually watching it, but I think it'll have to be 5/10.

Doctor Who - And The Actor Playing The 12th Doctor is...
Sorry if this is a spoiler but here goes anyway...
At 7pm this evening during a special half hour live show Zoe Ball announced the actor that would be filling the shoes, and possibly fez, of The Doctor in his 12th incarnation. And that actor is:
Peter Capaldi
Now to be brutally honest although I knew his face I didn't know what I'd seen him in before and didn't recognise his name at all when Zoe read it out. Turns out he was the bookie's favourite and I'd seen his pic up online over the last few days after the announcement show was advertised. He's also a HUGE Who fan and has actually been in Doctor Who before in "The fires of Pompeii" (an episode that also featured Karen Gillan before her Amy Pond role) in the 10th Doctor/David Tennant days. He's also famous for roles in "The Thick of it", World War Z, Torchwood: Children of Earth, and a butt-load of other things that I've probably never watched.
If you want to know what else he's been in you can read his IMDB profile by clicking HERE
I've already seen quite an online backlash start up on how old he is, how non-crazy and boring he seems (at least compared to Matt Smith and David Tennant) and oh yes - how OLD he is. But this is probably just the thousands of fan-girls realising that they won't be crushing as hard on this Doctor as they did the last 2 or 3. OK yeah so he's 25 odd years older than Matt Smith, but he does look Doctor Who-ish (retro style). We just have to give him a chance to work his way into our hearts like Smith did when he had all the same negative karma aimed at him originally.
This sums it up perfectly:
We're The Millers - Red Band (NSFW) And Normal Trailers!
This new Red Band (not safe for work) trailer, and the standard one below it, is for the upcoming drug smuggling, fake family, road trip comedy "We're The Millers" starring Jennifer Aniston (the strip scene, dear lord the strip scene) and Jason Sudekis...
I'm looking forward to this! I've added the other normal trailer too for the extra footage.

DC Comics' The Flash TV Series Coming Soon From Team Behind Arrow?
Fans of The CW's Arrow TV series (that includes me) will hopefully be happy to hear that the same creative team are bringing Barry Allen's Flash to the small screen in a new TV show...
Amazon/Wonder Woman has been put on the back burner for now (no doubt due to the timid reaction to the recent failed pilot for the other WW series) and are wanting to bring other characters into the Arrow universe. So does this mean we may have a few characters/actors for the Justice League movie through the TV shows? We already know that a movie is planned, but maybe the shows will lead to the big screen and then into the ensemble piece...
Flash will supposedly be introduced through Arrow and then have his own series, of which the pilot will be written by none other than Geoff Johns himself.
This could be excellent or crap, but judging by how much I love Arrow I think I'll love it!
Sherlock - Season 3 Teaser Trailer!
Nothing much to say here other than: This is the new teaser trailer for season 3 of Sherlock (we've waited too long!), and this is exactly how I feel about it...
47 Ronin - Awesome New Trailer!
Keanu Reeves makes an explosive return to action-adventure in 47 Ronin. After a treacherous warlord kills their master and banishes their kind, 47 leaderless samurai vow to seek vengeance and restore honour to their people. Driven from their homes and dispersed across the land, this band of Ronin must seek the help of Kai (Reeves)—a half-breed they once rejected—as they fight their way across a savage world of mythic beasts, shape-shifting witchcraft and wondrous terrors.
As this exiled, enslaved outcast becomes their most deadly weapon, he will transform into the hero who inspires this band of outnumbered rebels to seize eternity.
Awesome...

New Star Wars Rebels Animated Series - News & Artwork
Late last month at the Star Wars Celebration Europe 2013 event information and some new conceptual artwork was released for the upcoming Star Wars Rebels animated series from Disney XD.
Star Wars Rebels Executive Producer Dave Filoni pulled back the curtain on Lucasfilm's highly anticipated animated series for Star Wars Celebration Europe attendees today, discussing the huge influence of original Star Wars concept artist Ralph McQuarrie on the look and feel of the show, and revealing the series' unique logo and select designs.
Filoni talked at length about the use of McQuarrie art as a springboard for the series, showcasing many works from the original trilogy, including landscapes and characters, and detailing how they inform the visual identity of Star Wars Rebels.
For Star Wars Rebels, fans were given their first look at the Ghost, which will be the main character's ship and play a big part in the series, as well as a computer rendering of a very McQuarrie-esque Stormtrooper, the interior of a Star Destroyer, and more. The show's logo, a minimalist yet powerful design, is notable for its orange and black color scheme, which recalls the flight suit colors of Rebel pilots in the original Star Wars trilogy.
While unable to attend in person, Executive Producers Simon Kinberg and Greg Weisman shared their excitement for the series in a video message recorded specifically for Celebration attendees.
The series is set between the events of Episode III and IV -- an era spanning almost two decades never-before explored on-screen. It takes place in a time where the Empire is securing its grip on the galaxy and hunting down the last of the Jedi Knights as a fledgling rebellion against the Empire is taking shape.
Star Wars Rebels will be produced by Lucasfilm Animation, featuring many of the key talents that made Star Wars: The Clone Wars. It is scheduled to premiere in fall 2014 as a one-hour special telecast on Disney Channel, and will be followed by a series on Disney XD channels around the world.
In other Star Wars news - Episode VII will be scored by John Williams, the composer for the previous Star Wars movies. Awesome stuff, Star Wars if half of what it is because of its amazing music! :)
