Young Justice - Sneak Peek Season 2 Video

Below is a sizzle reel showcasing footage from the second season of Cartoon Network's Young Justice animated series. Dubbed, "Invasion," the show's second season will confront the team of sidekicks with some prime time problems while increasing the number of players on the board from season one by a sizeable amount. According to footage, fans can look forward to the addition of Shazam!, Zatanna, Blue Beetle, Lobo and a character who appears to be Lagoon Boy beginning next month when new YJ episodes begin on CN's DC Nation block.

I personally love Young Justice, it's one of the best cartoons since Justice League: Unlimited and it's a hell of a lot of fun!

First Image Of Stephen Amell As 'Arrow' From CW's 'Arrow'

The CW recently released the below image of actor Stephen Amell as "Arrow" (Green Arrow) from the new drama, Arrow.

The CW drama pilot Arrow stars Stephen Amell as the vigilante superhero who fights crime using archery, martial arts and technology under his secret identity as Oliver Queen, a wealthy playboy and billionaire industrialist-turned-outspoken politician in Star City.

Arrow's suit was designed by three-time Oscar(R)-winning costume designer Colleen Atwood.

The Waking Dead Welcomes Michonne!

Don't read on if you haven't seen the finale of season 2 of The Walking Dead yet! SPOILERS!


To put it bluntly the season 2 finale of Walking Dead was EPIC. There were many moments of greatness but the final few mins were heart wrenchingly difficult to watch and Andrea's rescue by the hooded Samurai sword wielding woman made me launch at least 2 foot off my sofa and shout "HOLY S**T - MICHONNE!"

If you haven't followed the comics then this will mean nothing to you at all, but for fans it's frickin amazing. Michonne will be in season 3. And now we're all happy again.

The actress who landed the role is Danai Gurira who has previously starred in Treme and the information was revealed by the comic writer Robert Kirkman

It's great to feel this geeky about a TV series again!

Grimm Renewed For A Second Season...

Having only just sat down and watched the first handful of episodes of Grimm with the Missus the other day I'm pleased to say, having so far liked the series, that it's already been renewed for a second season by NBC.

Grimm, which stars David Guintoli as a man who can see the monsters who walk among us that other people can’t see, airs in the UK on Watch at 9pm every Monday. A much darker take on small screen fairy tales than Once Upon A Time, it combines police procedural elements with fantasy folklore.

"RUIN" - Epic Animated Short

Wes Ball, a graphic artist best known for his work with HBO and his award-winning student short "A Work in Progress", has spent the last two years working with his company, OddBall Animation, on a “passion project” called Ruin, described as “an animated short set in a post-apocalyptic universe.”

Words can’t do this stunning feat of CGI justice, which is probably why the entire short is completely free of dialog. Do yourself a favor and set the next 8 minutes aside to watch something truly remarkable.

2 New Unnecessary Movies - Animated Cat In The Hat & Home Alone 5?

With the success of its CG-adaptation of Dr. Seuss’s The Lorax, Universal is siccing its animation subsidiary Illumination Entertainment on yet another classic Seuss title, The Cat in the Hat.

Universal’s live-action Cat in the Hat feature, which was considered a bomb despite grossing over $100 million, is only nine years old, but with The Lorax defeating John Carter — AKA “the year’s first blockbuster” — the feeling among the involved parties is that Dr. Seuss books “connect better in animation.”

Rob Lieber will write, Illumination Entertainment’s Chris Meledandri will produce, and Dr. Seuss’s wife Audrey Geisel will executive produce. No word yet on a release date.

A full decade after everyone was relieved to see the Home Alone franchise finally die a merciful death with the critical panning of its fourth installment, "Taking Back The House", ABC Family and Fox TV Studios have gone and unnecessarily resurrected the series yet again.

Home Alone 5: Alone in the Dark, which is set to premiere during ABC Family’s annual “25 Days of Christmas” block, follows the misadventures of Finn, an eight-year-old boy who gets left home alone with his sister. Believing their house to be haunted, the two set traps for ghosts, but end up catching a gang of thieves instead.

The film stars Malcolm McDowell, Debi Mazar, Ed Asner, Eddie Steeples, Jodelle Ferland, and newcomer Christian Martyn as Finn. Directing this mess is Peter Hewitt, who knows a thing or two about directing messes, having helmed both Garfield: The Movie and Zoom.

Tim Burton's Dark Shadows - First Official Trailer

Below is the first official trailer for Tim Burton's Dark Shadows movie. Not what I'd expected at all from the initial images, but could be cool!

Synopsis:

In 1752, the Collins family sails from Liverpool, England to North America. The son, Barnabas (Johnny Depp), grows up to be a wealthy playboy in Collinsport, Maine and is the master of Collinwood Manor. He breaks the heart of a witch, Angelique Bouchard (Eva Green), who turns him into a vampire and buries him alive. In 1972, Barnabas is accidentally freed from his coffin and returns to find his once-magnificent manor in ruin. It is occupied by dysfunctional Collins descendants and other residents, all of whom have secrets.

LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes - First Trailer

It's well documented on this site that I'm a big fan of all the previous LEGO video games which I play through with my eldest daughter all the time.

Add that to the fact that both my daughter and I are big comic book fans and I'm a Superman nut (obviously) and this video below becomes epic. You'll see what I mean.

Superman vs The Elite - First Trailer

The first railer for the upcoming DC animated movie "Superman vs The Elite" was released recently and it's below for all to enjoy.

I'm not 100% about the animation styling on this one, which seems a little different from the previous outings, but I've loved every DC animated movie released so far so I know this won't be anything to worry about!

Percy Jackson 2 - Nathan Fillion & Anthony Stewart Head Added To Cast

Casting news was released last week for the second film in the Percy Jackson movie franchise "Percy Jason and the Olympians: The Sea of Monsters".

Geeks and fanboys/fangirls of the Whedonverse will be pleased to hear that Nathan Fillion and Anthony Stewart Head have been added to the cast as Hermes (replacing Dylan Neal) and Chiron (replacing Pierce Brosnan) respectively. No news on why these changes where made and to be honest does anyone care? Nothing against the original two actors but Fillion and Head are geekdom legends and will no doubt fit their roles just fine.

I'm actually a fan of the first movie, unlike a lot of people I know, and I'm really looking forward to the next outing! (Nothing to do with the stunning Alexandria Daddario of course!)

The Avengers - Japanese Trailer With More Footage...
