Tim Roth Signed On For More Marvel Movies?

Although the newest Incredible Hulk movie was a superior film to Ang Lee's previous attempt in many ways there was one thing that aggravated me as a fan more than anything else... Tim Toth's "Abomination".

Having changed the Abomination's classic look to a more bone covered/ augmented human look, moving away from the more amphibian/ reptilian/ scaled looking version seen in the comics over the years, the movie lost me as a die hard comic fan when he appeared on screen. The character was an obvious choice for Louis Leterrier as the Hulk's nemesis for the film, but when you mess about with the look of a character that has been one way for decades, just for artistic license for the movie's believability factor; that's a bad thing in my book.

Either way it seems that Tim Roth has been signed up for three Marvel movies... Could we be seeing the Abomination return in a future Hulk movie? In the Avengers maybe? Or even a cameo in Thor, Captain America, or a third Iron Man movie? That's unknown for now, but here's what Tim had to say about being asked to appear in future movies:

"They have, but in a very different way," Roth said in a group interview at the Television Critics Association summer press tour Thursday in Pasadena, Calif., where he was promoting his Fox series Lie to Me. "I don't want to get into it, but they signed me up for three [films]."

Could that include two more Hulks, one Avengers and one Hulk or just two Avengers?

"It could be anything," Roth said in response.

For the record Edward Norton (Bruce Banner in the newest Hulk movie) hasn't confirmed either way whether he'll be returning to the role, either in a Hulk sequel, or in the Avengers movie... Strange, but we'll see how this all pans out, hopefully very soon!

The Green Hornet Finds Its Kato - Taiwanese popster "Jay Chou"

Seth Rogen's Green Hornet movie lost Stephen Chow recently, both as director and as its Kato, so fans have been wondering who would replace him in the iconic role that Bruce Lee once portrayed on T.V.

It seems that Sony Pictures have now confirmed (via Twitter) that Taiwanese popster "Jay Chou" has snagged the role. Chou is Taiwan's answer to Justin Timerlake as well as being an actor and filmmaker.

Chou, 30 years old, recently made the transition to movies and is reportedly a fan of Bruce Lee, who played the role in the 1960s TV show. Chou has appeared in three Chinese-language movies.

Chou joins Nicolas Cage, Rogen, Cameron Diaz and the recently announced James Edward Olmos (Battlestar Galatica's Bill Adama) in the movie, which is to be directed by Michel Gondry.

"Jay is incredibly unique and charming and fights like a wild dog!" Gondry said in a statement. "When I filmed him next to Seth, they had such great chemistry, and I knew the movie will be great."

"It's an overwhelming experience to take on a role made famous by Bruce Lee," Chou said in his own statement. "I won't try to be Bruce Lee's Kato—I will try to bring my own interpretation to the part. Of course, it's a dream role, and I'm looking forward to the challenge."

Rogen and Evan Goldberg wrote the script, and Neal Moritz is producing through his Original Films. The movie is looking for a July 9, 2010, release.

The Green Hornet is based upon the 1960s television serial—which was itself based on 1940s radio serials—about a masked hero who fights crime.

The Fart Prank King - Video...

I really don't know why this makes me laugh so much but it really does...

This is kinda like a candid camera show in the US starring Jack Vale who goes around public places using something called a "Pooter" that makes farting noises... Some of the reactions are awesome, especially near the end... They all made me crease up!

Enjoy!

The Jim Henson Company Moving Forward With Fraggle Rock Movie And Sequel To Dark Crystal

Although I might not have liked the large Muppets when I was younger I will admit right now that I was, and still am, a Muppet fanatic. I was brought up with Fraggle Rock, The Muppet Show, Sesame Street, The Muppet Movies, Labyrinth and The Dark Crystal. I watched them all the time, had the figures, the plush toys, the videos and the bed covers and I now even own two Master Replica Animal and Gonzo Photo Puppets (1:1 scale perfect replicas of the actual Muppet puppets) which sit happily in the corner of my room...

When news was released a while back that a Fraggle Rock movie was in development I was quite excited, especially when I heard they were making it for all of us that grew up with the series rather than just for the new generation of kids. Little has been heard of that production and now I find out that the Dark Crysta sequel "The Power of the Dark Crystal" is also being made and going forward very soon.

MTV recently interviewed Jim's son; Brian Henson (co-CEO with his sister Lisa) and the following is an exert from that interview:

Henson told us that "Fraggle Rock" is "still in very active development. Very active development. That has a very strong script." Woosh. See that emphasis on the second 'very'? That's all Henson baby. He was emphatic in his "Fraggle" talk.

And that's not all!
"It'll have a strong musical component," he said. "It'll be expanded to an older audience. 'Fraggle Rock' [the TV show] was presented... for a pretty exclusively children's audience. The feature film does expand it to be more accessible to a wider audience."

"We have a 'Dark Crystal' sequel, called 'The Power of the Dark Crystal.' It has a very strong script." More emphasis. I like that, Mr. Henson. Enthusiasm. It's infectious. I'm already excited about these projects, and hearing your comments only amplifies that.

"Both of those projects... are very close to going into pre-production," Henson said. "They're both really ready to go. [The studio is] just [in the process of] putting together the final finance pieces and the final distribution pieces."

Excellent news for Henson fans such as myself but the question is "When"? No dates seem to be secured at this time so even though Brian says they're "very active" that doesn't tell us when we should be expecting them... Oh well, it's enough for me that we're getting the movies in the first place!

Long live Muppets, in any form they come in!

Where The Wild Things Are - Newest Trailer

I don't think I ever read the book that this movie is based on (although my kids love the Gruffalo) but I have to say it looks mighty trippy... I never really liked the larger Muppets from the Muppet show when I was younger (Sweetums for instance) and these creatures remind me of them... I'm a little spooked but highly intrigued nonetheless!

See what you think. Could be great, could be weird!

A Little More Smallville Season 9 News & Tom Welling Pics

More news is starting to filter out into the web after Comic Con so here's a couple more bits of news:

Michael Rosenbaum seems set to reprise his role as Lex Luthor this coming season. The word on the ever-so-secret grapevine is that he's definitely returning for a few eps (to shock the fans seeing as he was killed of last season) but the actual creative team behind Smallville have only told the press that he's possibly coming back in season 10 (if there is one). They could be holding back to make his comeback garner more impact, but then again they could have honest issues with his scheduling or even where to add him in to the season (it would have to be a big return, not some blink and you'll miss it cameo).

We'll see very soon.

Usually I get my episode information from tv.com but comicbookmovie.com has some insider info on episode 5 "Idol" where it seems "The Wonder Twins" might be featuring!

Their names have been changed from Zan and Jayna to Tanner and Twyler for the episode, but either way it looks like we might be hearing that old "Wonder Twin powers, activate!" chant... No idea what I'm talking about? Well The Wonder Twins were famous for their "Superfriends" cartoon exploits, informally training with the other team members in some of the episodes. They are siblings from the planet Exxor with special powers that are activated when they touch hands and say "Wonder Twin powers, activate!". Zan can transform into water at any state (solid, liquid, gas) and Jayna can transform into any animal, whether real, mythological, indigenous to Earth or to some other planet, like Beast Boy, so long as she knows the name.

News about the episode states:

- These two spray paint an "S" on the roof of a bad guy's limo, to catch the attention of their "idol," the Blur.
- Later, the duo visit the Watchtower and see all of the high-tech gear that Chloe has within. Jayna "Twyla" asks Chloe if she's actually met the Red Blue Blur, and if she is the Blur's sidekick. Chloe tells them that Watchtower provides support to all of the heroes of Metropolis. "Twyla" wants to tweet her "group" about what she has seen, and Chloe warns that if she says one word to anyone about it, any trace of her virtual existence will be evaporated.
- A sign of the current state of the Chloe-Clark interaction: Chloe tells them that "if you get good enough at it, one day you might find yourself saving your best friend, from an enemy, or even from himself....

No idea if this is true or not but I'll be interested to see if it's right.

If you're like AMAZON PRINCESS you probably have quite the soft spot for Tom Welling. If that's you too then you'll love this gallery over at munfitnessblog.com where you'll find pics of Tom with and without his shirt on (mostly without).

Take a look HERE for the full gallery.

Rare Star Wars Pictures...

Damncoolpics posted a whole bunch cool Star Wars pictures at the beginning of August which are supposedly really rare unseen by most of the general public.

I'm just about as big a fan of Star Wars as there can be and seeing a few of these (like Leia playing with the snow on the Hoth set, Mark and Carrie playing, most of the main cast in there casuals and Harrison pulling the funny face during the Death Star scene) is totally awesome. I've seen a few of these before but there's a few that are new to me.

Enjoy!

A Dark Knight Post

DAY ONE ALMOST HERE.........BUT WE MAY NOT SEE DAY TWO.

More and more details are emerging from NBC about 'DAY ONE'...... not only is it a disaster show, but it now emerges that the disaster is following an alien invasion. Most of the following comes from scifiwire.com

"NBC President of Prime Time Entertainment Angela Bromstad spilled more details about the show in a group interview following her press conference in Pasadena, Calif., as part of the Television Critics Association's summer press tour, and she gave up a big piece of the shows premise: It's about aliens".

"It's an alien invasion," Bromstad said. "Not just a disaster. It's an alien invasion." That appears to confirm impressions left by a grainy trailer for the show that was leaked online.

Earlier, Bromstad had said the show might be of limited duration and tell a contained story, but she declined to be more specific about how many episodes that first, and possibly only, season will contain.

"We're still determining that," Bromstad said. "We're getting scripts in next week. We have three additional scripts coming in, so we're still talking to [series creator] Jesse [Alexander] about what our programming needs are and creative needs."

Could we be left hanging like Jericho, or are they going to wrap it all up in 1 series..........only time will tell.

MORE SGU INFO FROM SYFY.

No one told Stargate Universe star not to reveal spoilers

Stargate Universe star Robert Carlyle fortunately didn't get the memo saying that stars of sci-fi series shouldn't tell reporters what's going to happen, and he was only too happy to share with us a raft of spoilers for the upcoming Syfy original series.

Carlyle headlines the ensemble cast as Dr. Nicholas Rush, the reclusive leader who is responsible for an accident that sends a group of soldiers, scientists and civilians through a Stargate onto the runaway Ancient starship Destiny. Needless to say, there are spoilers ahead!

SGU Cast

Back Row, from left: Ming-Na, Justin Louis, Jamil Walker Smith, Brian J. Smith, Lou Diamond Phillips. Middle: Alaina Huffman, David Blue, Elyse Levesque. Front: Robert Carlyle

Take one recent episode. "I was floating in a tank, and that was kind of bizarre, in actual fact," Carlyle said in a group interview last month at Comic-Con in San Diego. "A bunch of aliens actually got me. Of course, Rush is left on a planet, which is what he deserves, and then the aliens come and pick him up and stick him in a tank. So that's where you suddenly pick me up again, floating in it. So that was quite cool."

But wait, there's more. "We do all die, and then we come back to life," Carlyle revealed. "It's a very, very interesting episode written by Robert Cooper called 'Time.'"

Also look for Stargate SG-1 star Richard Dean Anderson to return to his old stomping grounds, reprising the role of Gen. Jack O'Neill. "He was lovely," Carlyle said. "He really was. He was very humble about the whole thing, in fact. I think he also understood, very quickly, that this is a different thing. He said it was a different show from the one that he had been used to, and, of course, Gen. O'Neill comes back. I think that he's in four or five of the episodes, but you don't actually need to know who the guy is at all. He's so solid with his character, and that's fantastic to act with."

Robert Carlyle

SGU is built around the same mythology as the two previous Stargate series but is nevertheless intended to stand alone for viewers new to the franchise. "I guess we have to obviously give a nod to SG-1 and Atlantis, because we wouldn't be here if those shows hadn't been there," Carlyle acknowledged. "I don't think it's necessary to have watched any of that, at all, in fact. I mean, I guess you have the issues of this general, and even if you hadn't seen him before, he would just seem like another character, so we don't have to be familiar with the past to take on the future."

Aboard the Destiny, the major friction will take place between Carlyle's Rush and Col. Everett Young, played by Louis Ferreira. "Myself and Louis Ferreira are together a lot, and we go on extremely well, because we have to, because we're at each other's throats," Carlyle said. "It's very, very tense stuff."

Younger characters provide passive-aggressive tensions for Rush. David Blue plays Eli, a genius slacker. "Rush is kind of like Salieri, and Eli is a Mozart," Carlyle described. "That's what's going on. He needs this boy. This boy is probably much more clever than him, but he's not going to let him know that."

Rush might seem hardened or gruff, certainly antisocial, but Carlyle said he is not mean or vicious. "I think he's got a wicked sense of humor, but he keeps pretty much to himself," Carlyle said. "I don't think he's the kind of guy who takes pleasure in other people's discomfort or anything like that. He would be quite happy on his own. He's troubled in terms of his wife. His wife is dead, and he wasn't exactly there for her, and this is what caused an awful lot of Rush's problems. He's a very, very lonely man."

Stargate Universe premieres Oct. 2 at 9 p.m on Syfy.

RE-WATCHING THE WATCHMEN.

I don't care what anyone says, this movie is a masterpiece.......from start to finish it delivers a great story, great acting, and meaty chunks of action. I know it's not your normal superhero movie, but isn't that why WATCHMEN should stand apart??? And how can anyone dispute this movies action credentials after the prison fight......not quite up to the standards of "300", but Zac Snyder done good!!!!

Here's on of the more compelling reasons to watch the movie......Malin AKERMAN

WOO HOO!.......T5 IS COMING (AND, APPARANTLY SO IS T6!).

Here and extract from SCIFISCOOP.COM

Although Terminator Salvation was initially intended to be the first part of a new Terminator trilogy, its performance at the domestic US box office led many to question whether a fifth Terminator film would happen.

Then, to everyone’s surprise, the film gunned it on the international circuit, almost doubling Star Trek’s foreign take to hit a reasonable box office haul of $341M worldwide. That led to speculation that Terminator 5 might be back on the agenda – and it seems it is, with director McG now confirming Terminator 5 is being worked on as we speak.

In fact, in a recent interview with IGN, McG has not only confirmed Terminator 5 is being worked on, but so too is the third movie in the trilogy, Terminator 6.

"Yeah, we’re working on it right now. We’re very far down the line with the story for that – for the next picture, and even the picture after that, and feeling good and we’ll see where that takes us. I mean, we’re making it. Warners is excited about it. Sony is excited about it. And we can’t wait to get back at it and show the world what becomes of that war and how we master time travel because we stayed away from time travel in Salvation and I missed it. We decided it was the right thing to do and we did a lot of things right in that movie and we did many things wrong in that movie. And we’ll learn from the experience and we’ll grow and I think the next movie is going to be even more exciting and a better film".

In terms of storyline McG says Terminator 5 will go back to the grass roots of time-travel and running from a new kind of Terminator:

"One of the problems is that in a post-apocalyptic world, everybody’s a little bummed out because your brother melted… your friends are gone. Everything went haywire. So the idea is to play with one of the tried and true rules of the franchise – time travel – and introduce it in this picture. I don’t want to share too much, but let’s just say it’s very, very likely that John Connor is going to end up running through rooms like this where he knows something that none of us know. And I think that is a platform for great storytelling. Because I always love it when [Kyle] Reese is in our world, as you saw in the first picture, and everybody thinks he’s out of his [expletive] mind and he knows and he can’t afford to be concerned. And he’s got to convince someone he cares about to come with him! And that’s one of the engines. And we’ll have a much more clearly defined antagonist in the new picture. It will be more of a chase movie with a new Terminator that is on your ass".

And what would McG say to those who thought poorly of Terminator Salvation:

"I think the film missed some of the fun that Jim [Cameron] brought to the early pictures…We’ll bring a little bit more relief in that [fun] capacity. Not to the degree that you saw in the third picture, but a little bit more than ours. We wanted to be very, very nose to the grindstone and really establish credibility and it worked in many ways and it was unsuccessful in other ways, because it wasn’t a unanimous world of “[Expletive] yeah, we love Terminator Salvation.” There were plenty of people who kicked us in the ass over it…clearly I didn’t do a good enough job on that picture and I didn’t satisfy the fanbase to the degree that I would expect to satisfy them. And I take that very seriously and I just work that much more diligently to make sure I do that in the next one…It was very difficult to follow in the footsteps of my hero, Jim Cameron. I did the best I could and I learned a great deal, and I’m certain that I’m a better storyteller now, having had that experience. And I think the next film is going to be very pleasing and very surprising to the fans. That’s the goal".

G.I. Joe: Rise Of Cobra Video Game - Preview

So, after watching the G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra movie last weekend and really enjoying it, what is there next?

Well you could wait until the end of the year when the DVD and Bluray releases hit the shelves, or if you're anything like me, you'll want to grab the game that ties in with the movie!

G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra will be a multi platform release in the UK on the 7th (360, Wii, PS2 and DS) and 14th of August (PSP & PS3) and for those of you in the US; it was released today!
It's a good looking third person action game which grants you the use of multiple movie and comic characters, vehicles, weapons and tactics to get your mission completed.

Among the classes included for the various characters in The Rise of Cobra there is the Commando who do well at close range, Heavy Weapons who possess extraordinary shooting skills but do it best from a distance and Soldier who are a balance between the two. The classic "Yo Joe!" battle cry is in the game, being used as an invulnerability power-up when the G.I. Joe character gains access to the Accelerator Armor, allowing them to be undamaged while attacking Cobra troops and vehicles.

The full list of characters included are as follows:

Backblast

Baroness

Beachhead

Duke

Firefly

Flash

Gung-Ho

Heavy Duty

Kamakura

Ripcord

Scarlett

Shipwreck

Snake-Eyes

Storm Shadow

You can also unlock the various characters and special outfits throughout the game by accumulating points gained in missions. This adds a little more longevity to what could easily be a basic 8 hour blast fest. However I'm actually a big fan of third person action games, especially ones where you can blow stuff up and kills loads of bad guys so this looks pretty good to me.

Below are a few more in-game images and a trailer. Hopefully by next week I'll have the game in hand and should be able to do a full review for those of you that are thinking of buying it.
