The Oscar-winning actor behind Uncle Ben in the original 2002 Spider-Man film, Cliff Robertson, has passed away at the age of 88.
Robertson had other claims from Oscar-winning performance in Charly as the title character, a mentally-handicapped man who, with brain-boosting medication, was able to overcome his problems with tragic results. He was also in PT 109 as John F. Kennedy (hand-picked by the man himself and was highly praised in the role). On the small screen, Robertson made a guest appearance on "The Twilight Zone" in an episode where he played a ventriloquist with a dummy that is more than meets the eye. He also was a guest-villain on "Batman" as the criminal cowboy Shame (parody of Shane) and fought against the Dynamic Duo.
Cliff died of natural causes in New York one day after his 88th birthday.
YouTuber timeyodie impersonates 34 characters from Star Wars, from an Ewok to a spot-on take on Ewan MacGregor’s Obi Wan. The exaggerated expressions help sell his act.
“Finger-drumming phenomenon” Jeremy Ellis works his blistering-fast digits across the 16 pads of the Maschine Mikro, a new computer-based system for cranking out electronic grooves.
British mountain biker Danny Hart’s almighty skills have had the ride of their life at the UCI MTB World Championships in Switzerland, but the downhill run wouldn’t be nearly as memorable without these two animated commentators on his tail.
I'm guessing they smoked a couple of cigarettes afterwards!
Not something I'd usually post up on here but I found it quite amusing...
A Russian man set out to grab 1000 pairs of boobs in 30 days before meeting Russian President Vladimir Putin and shaking his hand, effectively being able to then say that President Putin touched 1000 boobs... Second hand touching of course. No idea why he did this but... Oh hold on, yeah I'm there. I get it now. :P
Christopher Lloyd is back playing Doctor Emmett L. Brown from Back to the Future starring in a TV commercial for Garbarino, the Argentinian electronic store...
Last week news broke across the world that the futuristic Nike Mags trainers from Back to the Future II had actually finally been made (I posted a while back about the patent being picked up by Nike in 2009), and it turns out they have. But there are a few problems for people wanting to pick up a pair.
1) You can't, or at least shouldn't, wear them... They're for display only.
2) A limited quantity will be available (at least initially) of 1500 which will be auctioned off for Michael J Fox's Parkinson's charity.
3) They light up (and are wall socket chargeable which lasts 4 hours on one charge) but they don't self lace...
4) They are only available in the US, the auction doesn't allow for shipping to other countries (you'd have to win the auction first! The first pair went to Tinie Tempah for $37,000!!!).
So basically it's a "YAY" for them being made and a big "BOOOOOOO" for teasing us but not being able to supply us!
Expendables 2 is supposedly increasing its testosterone quotient quite substantially (so internet sources have confirmed recently) in the form Jean Claude Van Damme (who refused an appearance in the first movie) and the legend that is Chuck Norris.
Also reprising their cameo roles from the first movie are Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger, who will both have extended screen time in the sequel!
2 cutesy videos here for you... One with a overheated sleeping puppy enjoying some floor-based air con cooling and one with a cat being harassed/played with by a tiny puppy, but doesn't seem overly bothered at all...
What if the new Wonder Woman TV series had actually been made and it had an opening sequence? Would it be like this? God I hope not... I'm actually quite glad it got cancelled!
If you're anything like me then you love the American Pie movies. OK so the weak sequels/spin-offs that came after "The Wedding" aren't that great, but the original cast versions are classics...
This single image below of the reunited cast brings back fond memories of "pie f****r", "Milf, Milf, Milf" and "This one time, at band camp..." :P
I meant to post this back in August but totally forgot.
At the D23 Expo the first work-in-progress images for the Monsters Inc sequel 'Monsters University' were revealed simply showing smaller/skinnier versions of Sulley and Mike. Can't wait!
Although the information has now been removed from The Avengers cast list on IMDB (probably due to it giving away a massive spoiler before the news should have broken, if it's true) information went up showing actress Cobie Smaulders as not only playing S.H.I.E.L.D agent Maria Hill but also the Skrull princess 'Anelle'...
The inclusion of an alien race in The Avengers is 100% confirmed but so far the identity of the race is not. Some have said it's the Skrulls, some the Kree, others say it's Joss's Breakworld aliens from his Astonishing X-Men comic run, or maybe just some generic versions... Either way we should probably take the IMDB posting with a grain of salt until actual confirmation is available!
The closest you'll ever get to truly flying... Watch the speed at which this guy passes the balloons on the hilltop, you've gotta have some serious guts and confidence to do something like this!
These are just plain awesome... Disney and Star Wars mashed up together once again to make a new line of Star Tours exclusive figures! Courtesy of J.M.E blog.
Ever wonder what would happen if you set up a couple of computerized Chatbot simulators and let them have a conversation with one another? This scintillating and quite freaky dialogue, that’s what...
New images here from the set of G.I. Joe: Retaliation featuring Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson & Adrianne Palicki. Nothing special but I'm quite a big fan of the original movie so I'm looking forward to the sequel!
I'm way behind on posts recently due to the store being so busy and having DC Comics Relaunch Day recently so these images have done the rounds for at least 2 - 3 weeks. But here they are anyway!
Notice that the suit has some substantial differences to the previous and well-known Christopher Reeve/Brandon Routh versions with the red pants, yellow belt and 'S' on the back of the cape missing completely (although I don't believe Routh had the cape 'S' anyway) and the whole thing looks much more alien in nature than it has ever done before, leaving little to the imagination in regards to Cavill's body too!
MTV appear to have a hit factory at the moment.....TEEN WOLF has taken off in a big way (already renewed for a second season) and now they've got DEATH VALLEY hitting the screens.
It's a cross between Shaun of the dead, Zombieland and Reno 911.......with a little Cops thrown it there for good measure. The premises is that Zombies, werewolves and vampires have invaded the USA and the UTF (undead task force) have been drafted in to sort the problem out..............however this task force seems to be made up of some of the most inept police officers going: and their task appears to be policing the undead any way possible...usually by beating, shooting or just generally kicking their ass.
The scripting is great and not the in your face "fart joke" humor that usually makes American comedy unwatchable. Yes, there are some obvious jokes, but mostly this is handled really well and subtly. The characters are likable (although mostly unknown) and they are followed around and filmed "cops style" by a camera crew.
This is funny, bloody and packed with action and sex!!! Well done MTV.........I salute you!!
Oh, and check out Caity Lotz and Tania Raymonde who add the sex appeal to the show as Kristin Landry and Carla Rinaldi in the show.
