Doctor Who Season 6 Info And Premiere Date - April 23rd!

Good news for Doctor Who fans both here and in the US... The season 6 premiere will air both on the UK BBC and American BBC on April the 23rd 2011 (Easter weekend)...


A new poster/banner has been released snazzy with the tag line, "Trust your Doctor". This season is supposed to be a lot darker and adult in tone to the last season with some Earth-shattering (and Tardis shattering) events taking place.

Here's the premiere discription: “The Doctor (Matt Smith), and his companions Amy (Karen Gillan) and Rory (Arthur Darvill), find themselves on a secret summons that takes them on an adventure from the desert in Utah — right to the Oval Office in 1969.”

The show filmed with the cast for the first ever time in the United States late last year for these episodes. Part One of the two-part opener written by showrunner Steven Moffat and this season will feature stars Mark Sheppard (Battlestar Galactica) and good old River Song (Alex Kingston) according to Entertainment Weekly.

Here's a fan-filmed video below of the Doctor (with his new green looking jacket) supposedly working at House of Fraser with his very own name badge, holding a Cyberman "Cybermat" infiltration device and talking with James Corden (notice baby) who returns as Craig Owens... This is from a later season 6 episode which has a Cyberman story arc which is said to span 3 episodes and could feature the Doc getting kidnapped!

New Tomb Raider Movie For 2013...

This week news hit the web that GK Films have acquired the rights to the Tomb Raider movie franchise with the aim of releasing a new movie in 2013.

The new movie is supposedly going to be a complete reboot but as of yet there's no word of who will star as Lara Croft (it won't be Angelina Jolie), who the director will be or who's even writing the script. All we know is that Miss Croft will return to our cinemas in 2013.

Who would you want to see play the lead role? Recent rumours state that Olivia Wilde is the top contender and I have no problem with that at all... I can't think of anyone else who would suit the part at this point... I'll have to sleep on it. :P

Adrianne Palicki With New Black Hair = Wonder Woman Reborn...

There's been a lot of fan-hate hate aimed towards the upcoming Wonder Woman TV show and a fair percentage of that has been directly towards actress Adrianne Palicki, who no one can see in the lead role.

Adrianne recently appeared at the premier of one of her latest movies "Elektra Luxx" and she was sporting a jet black hairdo not unlike what she'll hopefully be sorting in the new WW series.

Plus it could just be that she's wearing very high heels and her co-stars are midgets but Adrianne certainly has the Amazonian stature going on!

Smurfs Movie - First Look: Neil Patrick Harris & Smurfs!

This first look picture from Entertainment Weekly shows Neil Patrick Harris jamming on Rock Band with 3 of the Smurfs from the upcoming 3D movie... I won't say too much at this point as I don't want to tarnish my loving 80's feelings for the Smurfs cartoon, but this looks almost identical to the Chipmunks movies (that's the point of course) and could be either a kid-friendly romp or a cringe-worthy disaster... We'll see! :P

Super - Movie Trailer

Here's the first trailer for the upcoming movie "Super" starring Rainn Wilson, Ellen Page, Liv Tyler and Kevin Bacon.

After his wife Sarah (Liv Tyler) hooks up with a smooth-talking drug dealer named Jacques (Kevin Bacon), Frank (Rainn Wilson) transforms himself into superhero “The Crimson Bolt”. Although I know almost nothing about Dylan Dog I do like the look of this new movie featuring Brandon Routh in the main role. It reminds me a little of Constantine but as The Winged Warrior just pointed out it looks like there's far too much going on in one film to maybe be completely watchable... It'd be better as a TV series!

Liz Hurley And Cary Elwes Cast In New Wonder Woman Series!

The cast of NBC's new Wonder Woman series is growing quickly and two new names have been added to the cast...

First up is Liz Hurley who will be in the pilot playing Veronica Cale, the beautiful, highly educated head of one of the biggest pharmaceutical companies in the country who is afflicted with serious deep-seated Wonder Woman envy.

Second is Cary Elwes who will have a recurring role as the CEO of Themyscira Industries — Diana Prince’s company. He manages day-to-day operations while Prince goes out and fights crime as Wonder Woman and could eventually serve as the heroine’s romantic interest.

There's a third in the form of Cold Case's Tracie Thoms who plays Etta, Wonder Woman's always cheerful personal assistant, but I'm afraid I don't know Thoms so that isn't big casting news for me!

To be honest the whole company thing that's been added to the ongoing story is putting me off completely and I would have much rather seen a remake of the original series than a modern day reinvention... Boooooo!

Anything TRON is good in my books, and the voice acting cast is quite impressive with Elijah Wood, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Many Moore, Nate Corddry, Lance Henriksen, Paul Reubens and Bruce Boxleitner as TRON himself!

Cartoon Network "Punch Time Explosion" - News & Vid

For all you Super Smash Bros Melee and Cartoon Network fans out there you'll be pleased to know that all your favourite characters from the popular kids channel are coming together to battle in the new "Punch Time Explosion" video game for Nintendo 3DS, Wii, Xbox 360 and PS3.

The only real footage is the initial 3DS video below (after the trailer plays) but with the inclusion of characters from Ben 10 Ultimate Alien, The PowerPuff Girls, Dexter's Laboratory, Samurai Jack, The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack, Codename: Kids Next Door, Chowder, Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, and The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy and the possible inclusion of cameo-style assist characters from shows such as Johnny Bravo, Sym-Bionic Titan and Megas XLR this could be a fantastic and very fun fighting game!

Rambo And Robocop Cartoons - Why?

The 80's were the best years the Earth has ever seen... Period.

The movies were epic (and 99% are now classic), the actors were epic, the adverts were epic, hell even the cartoons were epic. But why the hell did someone think that two of the most adult and violence-laden 80's movies of all time should be made into kids Saturday morning cartoons?

I'll admit that I vaguely remember the Robocop cartoon from a holiday in Hong Kong when I was younger but I can't say that up until yesterday I knew anything about Rambo: The Force of Freedom. I mean really? Rambo and Robocop as cartoons? Wow. Imagine what they'd make now if they had the chance!

Dear God... How do these American show hosts talk actors and actresses into doing these cray-assed skits on their shows?

Pink Armadillo Attacks - WTF?

No this is not a video about a zoo animal attacking someone, nor some reference to porn gone wrong... This is in fact a Japanese monster movie about a woman who can turn herself into a giant power rangers-style armadillo and attack lorries...

She looks more like a 6ft walking after-birth, but hey, it's a Japanese monster movie so you have to switch your brain off and take everything as it comes. Just remember when you're driving your lorry around the Japanese countryside to watch out for some strange pink lady on a hill rolling her arms and shouting "Cru cru cru cru cru cru cru YAHHHH" and then wiggling her hips... She'll be knocking you off a cliff and tattoo-kissing your limp bodied forehead before you can figure out what the hell is going on!

Lake Tahoe Dad Builds Massive Snowman Slide - Video

80 hours of snow shoveling and moulding created the most awesome snow sculpture ever. A huge snow slide which looks more like a themepark ride than your average carrot-nosed snowman! It features everything including steps, a steep slide, a snowboard style half-pipe and a tunnel! I bet they were devastated when it all melted!

Latest Sighting And Picture of Loch Ness Monster Is Hailed As "Best Yet".

As a kid I was overly obsessed with myths, legends, monsters and gods and I've seen and experienced my own fair share of unexplained moments including UFO's, ghosts, pre-cognition and telepathy... But the Loch Ness Monster has always been one of my favourites.

We're talking the possible giant prehistoric creature hiding in the lake and not the kids TV cartoon 'Family Ness' here, and if this new photo is anything to go by there may still be evidence that something creepy lurks deep beneath the Scottish waters that only gets seen by humans once in a blue moon.

This is the story from the Telegraph:

The photograph, which shows an object with three humps breaching the surface of the lake, is said to be the best evidence yet of what some claim is a monster lurking beneath the depths.

It was taken on a camera phone by Tom Pickles, 24, while kayaking on the lake as part of a team building exercise with his IT company, CapGemini, last Friday.

Mr Pickles said he saw an animal the size of three cars speed past him on the lake and watched it for about 20 seconds.

He said: “It was petrifying and we paddled back to the shore straight away. At first I thought it was a dog and then saw it was much bigger and moving really quickly at about 10mph.

“Each hump was moving in a rippling motion and it was swimming fast”.

“Its skin was like a seal’s but it’s shape was completely abnormal – it’s not like any animal I’ve ever seen before."

This is believed to be the eighth sighting of a long humpbacked creature – known by local residents as "Bownessie" – in the past last five years.

Mr Pickles’ companion Sarah Harrington, 23, said: “It was like an enormous snake.

“I only saw it for a few seconds but all I could think about was that I had to get off the lake.”

The pair were on the last day of a team building residential training course at Fallbarrow Hall, Bowness, Cumbria.

They said they had kayaked 300m out into the lake near Belle Isle when they spotted the beast to the south.

Mr Pickles's picture perfectly matches the description of an earlier sighting from the shores of Wray Castle in 2006 by journalism lecturer Steve Burnip.

He said: “I’m really pleased that someone has finally got a really good picture of it.

“I know what I saw and it shocked me, it had three humps and it’s uncanny the likeness between this and what I saw five years ago.”

Photo expert David Farnell of Farnell’s photographic laboratory in Lancaster said: “It does look like a real photo but because it’s been taken on a phone the file size is too small to really tell whether it has been altered on Photoshop or not.”

Sceptics remain unconvinced that something so large could exist in the 11 mile long lake.

Dr Ian Winfield, a lake ecologist at the University of Lancaster, said: “It’s possible that it’s a catfish from Eastern Europe and people are misjudging the size but there is no known fish as large as the descriptions we’re hearing that could be living in Windermere.

“We run echo sounding surveys every month and have never found anything.”
